The Hunter Biden thing won't change minds but here we go: a cybersecurity pro says the metadata confirms the authenticity of the emails.
The gist is that Gmail uses a "DKIM" protocol to authenticate emails and the Hunter email matches the e-signature of the sender. So the key email really is from Burisma.
However, my impression is that if someone hacked into, or otherwise gained access to the Burisma system, they could send out signed emails. Who among us has not had their email hacked, to the annoyance of everyone on our contact list?
Shenanigans in the Ukraine seem to be a theme to this story, so who knows?
From Wikipedia on DKIM:
As to the Hunter Biden thing changing minds, who ya gonna believe, me and Lyin' Ted Cruz, or our President?
Trump also continues to hone in on Hunter Biden in the closing days of the campaign, despite allies like Sen. Ted Cruz warning him that it’s not a winning final message. Trump even acknowledged as much in Florida. “I get a call from all the experts, right?” Trump roared to the crowd. “Guys that ran for president six, seven, eight times. Never got past the first round, but they’re calling me up, ‘Sir, you shouldn’t be speaking about Hunter. You shouldn’t be saying bad things about Biden because nobody cares.’ I disagree. Maybe that’s why I’m here and they’re not. But they say, ‘Talk about your economic success. Talk about 33.1 percent, the greatest in history.’ Now, look, if I do, I mean, how many times can I say it?”
I have not run for President six times. But any day now!
Yeah, Trump can fake Hunter emails, but 4 years of full time work by CIA/FBI/FiveEyes/Mueller couldn’t fake anything that stuck on Trump.
So as far as faking evidence, we are to believe Trump is competent while the globalists/ Biden people are useless posers. OK.
Or we could be sane and recognize no evidence was found against Trump for the simple reason he isn’t an international criminal, while plenty of evidence against Biden is lying around and confirmable because Biden has been corrupt for at least 47 years.
I choose sanity.

I can't quite let go of that hockey player story....
In these days of social media and videos going viral, every 14 year old is (or should be) aware that anything they do can have a dramatic impact on their future. We do them no favors by pretending otherwise. Normally, I'm pretty forgiving of 14 year old boys' hijinks, but teaming up with another kid to bully and beat up a weaker kid is character defining. It's not that I don't think that people are irredeemable, but it sounds like the only remorse Miller had was that he got caught. He did the minimum required by the court to make amends.
Pro athletes are role models. Yes, there are some awful ones out there, and I'm guessing that some other hockey team might have no trouble overlooking his earlier transgressions and bring him into the fold. Sports teams have to balance talent with chemistry and it might be that Miller hasn't changed his spots.

Way, way behind on catch up here--but found this from last night--
OK - I'm going to ask the obvious "old fogy" question. Do parents no longer encourage/want their children to wait until marriage to have sex?
I just told them they had to wait until they were ready to be a parent, because that always was a possibility.
(To which, my then eight year old asked "How about if you are engaged?")
And I have been told I "ruined their sex lives" because of that message, delivered more than once, starting before puberty.
Their love lives have been just fine though.
And my oh my--in the JOM TMI department that opened up yesterday (why I have to read every day!!)--Beast's truly surprising post(considering when we grew up and all--FREE LOVE was most certainly the message) caused me to realize that in not too many years, I will have had his stated experience FOR fifty years!!
God willing.

Robin, I can't agree with you, as sympathetic as I am to that being a very, very cruel thing to do.
I have sat around campfires with my male family members and in offices with a bunch guys as our work day wound down, and heard stories from their youth.
From fellows who are not just OK, but truly fine guys, who have owned doing some equally cruel things in their early adolescence.
The need to belong at that time is strong; you fall in with the wrong crowd, with an alpha guy whose personality disorder causes him to end up in prison ultimately, and there you are.
So I won't say a single event in anybody's life is "character defining."
When I've heard some of these things, no one was bragging, or proud. Often came up when people were looking for some guidance regarding their own kids at that age, as an example of something very much not good, but did not mean a ticket to ruin.

Amom, that's true. But a young man 4 years removed from his transgression is quite different from one 30 years removed. I suspect if Miller had done more to atone for his action as a 14 year old, the victim would have been more forgiving and wished him well in his pro career.
As it is, he is now an example of how a very poor decision can have a lasting impact on your future with how the world works now. Video evidence of his cruelty exists and is hard to overlook. Everyone has a phone. 14 year old boys have to be far more careful even if developmentally they aren't ready for that. Society keeps behavioral norms because those that transgress are held up as examples - losing status and opportunities.

Don Jr. had an event near Bangor that had a last minute change of venue. The business that had planned the event was told by the state health department that more than 100 people would violate the outdoor gathering rule. After the apple orchard event, there was a sh*t storm because mask and social distancing rules weren't followed. The owner of the orchard said he had "regrets" because he was supposedly told by the Secret Service that Trump's visit would be a quick photo op.
Well, when the word leaked out about the visit thousands of people arrived at the orchard. It won't be surprising if the blue state governors limit the crowd sizes at Trump events the next few days.

Crack vs Meth
I've known regular users of both at some point in my life. Also known cops who have dealt with addicts (my 1SG was a Baltimore Co. homicide detective with some stories). Through those observations, I think it is safe to say that while crack may make people crazy, meth tends to make people evil and crazy. Meth makes people do really bad stuff, and just not care.
Meth is also more heavily favored by gay men as it apparently enhances certain sexual acts. Considering the rumors that there are pix of Hunter either about to, or getting, pegged on the hard drive, my guess is that he is a meth addict. What little soul he proably ever had has been cooked off by that stuff.

--Everyone has a phone. 14 year old boys have to be far more careful even if developmentally they aren't ready for that. --
So ask them to do something they're developmentally incapable of doing or they're branded for life and their character defined forever?
Imagine if Big Brother had a drone following everyone everywhere at all times. Think how careful we'd all have to be.
I know a very large number of people who did really stupid and criminal things as youths and those things didn't define their character nor deny them a chance to do the thing they love to do. The punishment that is meted out in court is supposed to be the punishment. Once that price is paid, especially by a first time juvenile offender, he is supposed to have a clean slate to prove it was not a habitual act.
If it turns it was a habitual act THEN he should be sanctioned. But if it wasn't and he's sanctioned beyond his sentence anyway, you might very well turn an otherwise good citizen into a bad one.
The reason we're even talking about this demonstrates it is not a legitimate act by hockey. And the reason we're even talking about it is because white-guy-hits-black-guy.
If it was black-guy-hits-white-guy not a single person outside the two parties would even know about it and the NHL would be proudly talking about their inclusivity by drafting a black hockey player.

In a country in which the local Democratic civil authorities encourage millions of their people across the country to demonstrate in close contact and large crowds and either condone or do nothing to stop innumerable criminal and violent acts by their people and then turn around and limits the crowds at their political enemies' legitimate peaceful political rallies to a few hundred people and in a country where the entire mainstream media ignores the now clear fact that the Democrat's presidential candidate is a blatantly and even openly corrupt goon accepting large chunks of illicit cash from foreign powers and enemies, if we wish to keep our liberties and values rather than be subjugated by these very same people we will almost certainly be forced to wage a hot war against them.

Trump is going to win in a blowout. Maybe 49 states. Why on earth would Biden have left his basement otherwise?

Recall NBZ/Tass started the “White Hispanic” campaign, and none of what follows should surprise anybody.

The individual franchise did. "Hockey" is shorthand for the treatment he has received so far and that I expect him to continue receiving.
If someone treats him differently, good for them.

Yesterday she expressed her admiration for the musical stylings of David Gilmour
David Gilmour was my first real stadium concert in May 1984. I was 15. New Haven, Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Pot pipes being passed up and down the row multiple times. It was eye opening. :)

Melinda, I like @AirBossUT5 too.
Here's the question: with all polling and early vote numbers suggesting that the Election Day voters will be hugely Republican...would MN leftists risk disrupting polling places on Tuesday rather than waiting until results are in to riot?
That goes for the whole country.

Melinda,
No one should pay attention to the MSM.
There was no bigger fan of Donald J. Trump outside his family and perhaps Thomas Wictor/Carlos Osweda than me in 2016. They still managed to get me so depressed in a Republican state that after the polls closed on election day (when I voted) that I went to bed early figuring we had lost and missed the anchors having to cry in their beer when it was announced that Hillary had lost!

Did you see Kavenaugh at the concert? ;)

OT for Narc (since he reads everything I read, just faster).
Narc, is it my imagination, or are the latest offerings of Gabriel Allon, Mitch Rapp, and Jack Reacher as poorly written superficial PC crap as they seem to be to me?
I find myself skipping pages and pages at a time for all three.

I'll bet it was.
That goes for the whole country.
These are not people who have demonstrated a proclivity toward delaying gratification or restraint.
My advice to all of you, which I will be following religiously for the next several weeks is:keep your head on a swivel, be prepared to give and receive physical violence, and carry whenever it is practical and legal.
Also have your lawyer on speed dial.

I have to note the high ironic comedy at that Glenn Greenwald link.
The second comment when I was there was by a guy who worked with Greenwald briefly in a journalism setting and complimented his professionalism and bemoaned the low and sinking standards of today's journalists. Where did they work together? Al Freakin Jazeera. That's right. A Sunni Islam propaganda outfit has higher journalism standards than the domestic journalists of the country that wrote the First Amendment.

Haha, I suppose he could have been there. I saw a number of shows in New Haven while he was at Yale, come to think of it - and many art films as well.
If I ever meet him I'll ask. :)

Good advice, Soylent.
This is one time when it's nice to be voting in a blue neighborhood. Although I wonder whether most of the folks in line on Tuesday with us will be fellow secret Trumpers.

Is the letter from the Catholic Archbishop to Trump legit?

Why do you think it's not?
