I did catch a bit of the Thursday town halls after the Cheatin' 'Stros walked it off against my newly adopted Rays. I tuned in to Biden to see if I could fall asleep before he did but we both made it to the end! He handled the Stephanopolous softballs pretty well. There was never a chance Biden would be subjected to a grilling as Trump was but what I saw of Trump (near the end) was reassuring.
As to tonight - read this about Cuban defector Randy Arozarena and root for the Rays. This is not an easy call for Yankees fans, I should add - if the Rays lose the Yankees get company in the record books as the only two teams managing to blow a 3-0 lead. Misery loves company!
BUT, letting the Cheatin' Stros into the World Series means they might win it. TOO RISKY! Go, Rays!
people = person.

They considered voting and wearing red shoes to mean she voted for Trump (Red) which she did admit to later. The original post was just a cute photo of her I voted sticker showing in a selfie photo with her red shoes.
They sell ballet flats in a lot of colors. So then some others started saying, "I'll be wearing my blue shoes to vote" which was ok but it quickly got really, really nasty.
Not that important but it was just another little example to me of how angry the left is over Trump and how quickly common decency can evaporate in a group of people that have been online "friends" for years.

The day will come when he is President and Liddle Don Jr. is seeking his endorsement for a run for dogcatcher somewhere.
Must be satire; TM, what a kidder. Sasse is exactly the kind of mild-mannered Republican who I preferred until Trump showed me how it was really done, and how useless manners are against Dem treachery. I, myself, never leaned strongly in the direction of any Democrat.
Fuck that banjo hitter in particular.
LOL, I found someone else using that term for Bucky:
The other was Russell Earl "Bucky" Dent (nee O'Dey). Bucky F*****g Dent. A banjo hitting pretty boy nonentity punk shortstop. These two ruined my life.
The other person to ruin his life, of course, was Mike Torrez, who tossed the fateful pitch.

My daughter waited in line for 3 hours at the early voting site downtown.
She was gripping about it and I told her the people in charge are DEMOCRATS and it was purposefully done. She said, "You think they did it to keep old people from voting?"
Yep, I do, since more old people are GOP around here. She will learn.

box,
I was pleased to witness your metamorphosis after things were somewhat dicey for a while.
I liked Mike Torrez. A neighbor of mine used to head up the legal department at a dinky S&L and once a title company laid two Indians tickets on him. He called me up and asked if I wanted to go. I said sure, figuring they were decent box seats. They were right beside the corner of the Indians dugout. I told him "if you get these again (which he did) give me 15 minutes max to get my ass in gear".
Anyway you could see *everything* down there. Mike Torrez was pitching one game and he was getting squeezed really bad by the umpire; so bad even we were ridiculing him (and he could definitely hear us). Torrez was visibly steamed and John McNamara was going ballistic in the dugout. It was a great way to experience baseball.

I have to believe that shrews like the ones M22 reported on are not winning any votes for Democrats.
That's not an entirely new phenomenon, although I think it's evolved into a true sickness on the left. When I first landed at JOM, I was abandoning ship at a Mac Help site. It had a "lounge" as many such spots did back then, where regular posters could jaw jaw about anything. We'd been having great times, sometimes serious discussions, sometimes silly fun for years, but things started to deteriorate as we moved toward the Iraq war.
The wisdom of going to war was not the most problematic issue, it was the prevailing hostility to President Bush. He was not just an ignoramus but also an illegitimate president who rode into town on a stolen election. That's the claim that gave people license to let loose their inner Torquemadas. Any defense of Bush resulted in an incredible, personally insulting stream of remarks, along will a surprising amount of sexist condescension. AIt wasn't long before almost any other deviation from liberal orthodoxy began to elicit the same non-substantive responses.
That's when I changed to a gender neutral screen name, and included my real last name as a disincentive to treat others likewise.
When I got to JOM, I discovered that even people who viscerally disagreed with you would still engage you on the issues, without purposely insulting or demeaning you. I tried posting at a number of different places, and found that to be a pretty typical difference between liberal and conservative sites. You didn't even have to stray very far from the party line to become the target of liberal displeasure. So, I planted my roots at JOM, and while I remain socially liberal in many respects, I've probably become more conservative generally, as a result.

That's the difference between a political ideology and a political philosophy, JM.
An ideology is not what you believe; it's who you are. It's your identity. People who disagree with you aren't denying what you believe is true. They are denying you personally, your existence. And so politics becomes a zero-sum, existential battle between good and evil rather than the give and take and compromise of the art of the possible.
And that ideology inevitably breeds the single most corrosive ethos of the left or any ideologue; the personal is political. What that really means is; my ideological identity; me, makes you an other; if need be an expendable other.

What a load of biased horse shit.
The worst bias being that they fail to note that most of what the CDC wanted to say turned out to be wrong and most of what they were told to say by non med guys turned out to be right. THAT is the true scandal and the fall of the CDC.

Skimming too quickly through the the Twitter replies here, I thought this guy was talking about Biden.
Neal Katyal:
"Call me conservative, but I prefer Presidents who don’t have to flee the jurisdiction if they lose a re-election campaign."
Then I read this one:
Kelly O'Donnell
"Trump in Georgia on risk of losing: "'I'm gonna say, I lost to the worst candidate in the history of politics I'm not gonna feel so good. Maybe I'll have to leave the country. I don't know.'"
Troll level, sky's the limit!
Preet Bharara
"hold the tape"
Quotes David Mack tweet:
"Trump says he may leave the US if Biden wins."
Steven Beschloss
"If Trump loses in a crushing defeat, I’m beginning to think less about how he might incite violence and more about how he might slip quietly out of the country to save himself from the inevitability of criminal prosecution."
I can just imagine what that will morph into by tomorrow. Trump on the run!

None really came close but seeing a few sizzlers down the line puts you on full alert. Hi all,
I'd like to thank each and everyone of you for your prayers. Owen was released last night (thanks Jane) and is home now. The MRI and EEG's were normal. Those falling down episodes combined with the seizures had me thinking the absolute worst.
Here's where I panicked, I was talking mostly to my son in law because he's the one who drops the boys off here and then picks them up after work. He told me that when Owen had one of these falling down incidents, he picked Owen up who was unconscious and limp. I have since talked to my daughter who told me that although Owen has fallen over quite a bit, she never saw him lose consciousness. She did say he would fall over without bracing himself for the fall, arms down then bang. Now they're thinking the falling down is just plain clumsiness, that he'd get from me. Now I feel a bit embarrassed for over reacting when it may have been, as amom put it, a not uncommon among infants, febrile.
So please forgive my panic and thread disruptions. Owen's going to be OK.

Not over reacting at all rocco--and I say, keep watching closely. Why I suggest videoing a falling episode if he has one.
There are all kinds of seizures; grand mal, with the twitching and contracting of major muscle groups and loss of consciousness being but one.
It is wonderful that there are no brain tumors underlying this, and of course, I hope this is "one (two) and done, " but keeping a close eye on that little guy is definitely in order.

I'm reading with a smirk, the comments on early coding.
I came late to the game after a change in life circumstances.
I worked at the largest television assembly plant in the world (Thompson/RCA) that was devastated by outsourcing (Mexico). It was a good job.
Thirtyish, newly married, with a mortgage and my first (maybe fav child???... not supposed to say so...) I didn't know what the hell I was gonna do.
When we all got shitcanned, Big Bro offered us a new program of retraining. Hardly anyone, especially the older workers, took advantage of it.
I did.
I had bought a Radio Shack TRS-80 about a year before the big layoff as a hobby, enjoyed it an thought I'd go that route.
I quickly found out that like lots of new programs, there weren't many rules. One of the rules, that was later changed I think because of me, was you could take as many credit hours as you wanted as long as your grades were good.
I took advantage of that and was soon taking as many classes as I could in Bloomington and commuting to Indianapolis for the others.
I got two degrees in two years. I liked factory work, the mechanical aspects of manipulating tools to do things but, I've never looked back.
Probably 1990 or so and things were still fairly up in the air for IT. I got a degree for networking and one for coding. I tried coding which I prefered, but made a living in networking.
I had a cobol class, I think it was 'Toshiba COBOL' that we ran off floppy disks. A lazy coder, I just wrote stuff till it broke, find the offending line, rewrite 7 times till it worked. My prof was like 'You are spoiled. When I wrote code it was on a card. It had to be perfect because you had to schedule with the gatekeepers at the mainframe and if didn't work you had to wait 3 days to try it again."
I thought 'yeah that sucks, but I gotta pc and get to do it 12 times in 6 hours.'
He hated my GOTO's to boot!
I came into my own in VB6 though, especially in regards to recordsets which led me to sql coding. I was pretty good at it if I don't mind saying so.
It's what I'd do if I had didn't have mortgage and tuition payments to worry about.
Wound up making a living though by programming Cisco and HP switches, routers and firewalls.
Now I don't even get to do that.
I code bills for the IT dept, manage others doing the cool stuff and run projects.
It's still cooler and pays better than working on the factory line.

Today was the first day I was healed up enough to put my snake boots on and head for the woods, but then I got distracted here. I don't suppose I need to 'splain how that story ends!

Doh!
Jack, I hadn't thought about that expertise angle.
I think I'll rewrite my resume tomorrow.
When I got done mowing today, really mulching leaves, I found a half case of Upland beer in the garage fridge.
Definitely a drop off from my twin bro.
I think I'm best off delaying the rewrite till I've resolved that half case,..

So glad to hear that Owen is and will be OK! Everyone here has panic privileges, because you don't know how things will turn out till they turn out.

Dang Matt! Small world!
I worked in the QC department.
I think that is what led me to the TRS-80 and my present occupation.

Sasse is the new RIno Flake.
Won’t get re-elected next time.
Too pompous.
Schiff’s says Biden’s e-mails from Kremlin.
Fool people once..
Schiff’s is stupid enough to think that the American people will fall for that scam and hoax again.
I hope he is one of the ones involved so he can eventually be indicted.

45 years ago I drove with a friend from Cleveland to Cape Cod in her MGB
With the top down.
Last Friday in another MGB we drive from the West side to Downtown Cleveland, again with the top down and the wind in our hair.
I said , not much has changed in 45 years!

Trump is on a roll in MI. Janesville next at 8:00 eastern. Rock County (includes Janesville) was a Hillary +10 in 2016.
Cold out, windy (leaves blowing over the top of my house). I have a nice fire and voodoo ranger, imperial set for the show.

Enough of them fell the first time, so why not?
