Trump is pretty sick, or maybe he isn't. Not a lot of clarity here.

Folks, media are so awful. They helped FDR coverup his polio-resulting handicap, thru covered up for JFK’s Addison disease, but have been trashing the president for days over “a lack of transparency” for his virus illness. So appalling.

Are you sure he's a hater, Dave? Because that would have been epic. And it's exactly the kind of comment I read (and chuckle at) on thedonald.win all day long.
First Rule Of Trump: Everything anti-Trump eventually becomes pro-Trump.
I've got a simple and obvious question for all of you.
Why would WALTER REED have a bad reputation for taking care of the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, and for getting him healthy enough, to leave the HOSPITAL in 2 days flat??????
This is where SOLDIERS go to heal. Mr Trump has visited these soldiers there many times.
Dave, you can mock the President riding a scooter,
you can infer that Mr Trump has a UTI and is trying to self medicate himself with CRANBERRY JUICE.
Both of those are things the PRESIDENT would do.
But FLEETWOOD FUCKING MAC and CHEESE??? I can guarantee you, that DONALD J TRUMP needs some ROCK N ROLL, and FLEETWOOD MAC DADDY just ain't rock n roll.
What the heck. Everything else in the news this week seems to have careened off into crazytown, so we may as well take a really deep dive into the madness. Covering politics for a living, I’ve run across more than my share of conspiracy theories that leave you scratching your head. But over at Motherboard, investigative journalist MJ Banias has dug one up that’s going to make Q-Anon look like the college debate team. According to one surprisingly popular conspiracy theorist named Richard Van Steenberg, President Donald Trump contracted the novel coronavirus on purpose. But why would anyone do that, you ask? It’s because (you might want to sit down and grab a stiff drink for this one) he believes that Trump is an immortal alien who is planning to “shed his mortal flesh and shapeshift into something else.” Either that or Trump is an Earthly coconspirator working in league with the aliens to enslave mankind. Don’t look at me that way. I didn’t make this up.
From Hot Air. I've got one of these crazies in my FB friends circle somehow. I was gonna 86 em but it's been too entertaining.
Can anyone put a stamp on when POOOOTER BOY went full Crhles Jonhson?? I guess I'd like to know when LITTLE YELLOW FOOTBALLS went off the rails and why.
Now woman telling Sniffer that she wanted to get out of High School, go to college and then maybe have kids. She then starts mentioning CONTRACEPTION, and I turned the channel rather than puke.
I've never needed ID to register. You mail in the card. Then supposedly someone checks your eligibility on the other end.
If you think about it, all kinds of people have ID. There's no single ID other than a passport that could confirm your citizenship, and that would still be valid even if it didn't have your current address.
Unless they make you provide all the documentation up front and in person, there's no way to do it.
When the President returned to the White House, he walked up the stairs to the Truman balcony. He could have gone through the Diplomatic entrance, but he chose to do this. A very good sign, I believe.
Porch, Wisconsin offers Real ID compliant Drivers Licenses, and non compliant (for illegals I guess). Proof of citizenship when registering or voting appears to be on the honor system.
Right, henry. Like I said, in theory they could shut down mail-in registration and force everyone to produce proof of citizenship and address at time of registration, but I doubt that would pass muster or some states would try it.
My best friend became a strident Conservative, when during a high school class, it was announced that President Reagan had been shot. One of his classmates CELEBRATED.
Well if you use “very sick people” to mean in a coma on a ventilator for 2-1/2 months — as in our twenty-something friend here who got H1N1 in 2009 — then, no, not wearing a suit.
(And our friend got the CCPv at a family birthday party at the end of June. They hospitalized her because the 2009-10 ventilator time means that she has “permanent lung damage.” They kicked her out of the hospital after a day because she never even got sick.)
Porch! A year after a trip to Belgium, Scotland, England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland, I used my passport as I.D. to fly to FLORIDA.
TSA stopped me and threatened to ground me, BECAUSE, ....I had failed to sign my PASSPORT.
I told them I had a WISCONSIN DRIVERS LICENSE, and I would be happy to sign it in their presence.
I made it to PORT CANAVERAL in time for APPETIZERS.
OYSTERS if you must know.
Porch, it will not pass the HOUSE of REPS....now....but when DJT gets re-elected, we have 4 more years for another SCOTUS possibility.
If that should happen, these cases will be scrutinized Constitutionally, and NOBODY believes that ILLEGALS should even be here. I'm not suggesting cattle cars and ZYCLON B, I'm suggesting rule of law, and ZERO REWARDS for those who came here without OUR permission. Things can and will change if we keep moving forward. Just catching up - as usual. I’m in a pretty pissed off mood this evening, and I have had several bourbon and waters. Just for disclosure, and don’t hold it against me if I am obnoxious.
I checked my credit card count today. 56 customers paid with a cc. So based on my business trends I would conservatively say another 25 paid in cash (I think more). We also have “house accounts” and I am sure we had at least 30 of those today. We leave many slips open for the day as they return throughout the day. So a bit over 100 customers, on a slower day. In May, June, and July, probs three times that. We are all fine. I hate the phobia out there. One man who is in almost every day commented that his son is very careful about the virus and that he barely goes anywhere. I asked how old and he said 28. I asked, “Why is he so scared? He is so low risk.” Well I guess I scared my customer away. Too bad. If I lose a few who cares? Time to fight back.
Mission Impossible is way better than Bond at this point.
The Brosnan ones were kind of weak but still mostly understood that they're supposed to be fun and escapist. But the Craig ones are just depressing and gritty and politically correct and blah.
I feel for you! I have a mask looped over my gear shift stick for when I have to have it, like Kroger's or the liquor store. Mostly it just stays there.
My daughter is more paranoid, but I have noticed that she isn't as insistent on the masks as she was a few weeks ago. I think this is a good sign.
I am convinced this is a type of flu, and am treating it like I would if there were an epidemic of that in the area.
The press and jerks like Fauci have caused people to lose their minds.
Porch, I love your optimism. Despite my grouchy mood I share it.
Stephanie, I said I would count the Biden signs during my next drive to work (13 miles). I usually take the highway for half of it (since the high-schooler pulled out in front of me and caused a pretty decent accident.) Today I took the scenic highway. Within one mile there were 19 Biden and BLM signs. Then they dropped off. A few on the north end of my town and many in the south part of my more conservative business town. Only Trump signs were ours and the Trump pop up trailer. So maybe 30 Biden/BLM signs total. And that doesn’t count other signs and local race (largely dems) signs.
On the way home some lovely landowner put up four Trump signs!
Not that you asked. Sorry to throw all that out there. Just showing you how mass (holes) mostly vote. Mass will never go Trump.
TC, if I recall correctly you live here in Mass as well. Spend a day in retail my friend, and you will be ready for AA! JK, but really working in retail requires some kind of medication. If one is not drinking, one is on some kind of prescription medication. Particularly in 2020. Can it end soon enough?
DEVELOPING: The "foreign policy adviser" who allegedly proposed "vilify[ing] Donald Trump by stirring up a scandal claiming interference by Russian security services" was Jake Sullivan, now a top Biden aide. Hillary OK'd his proposal on July 26, 2016--days before FBI opened probe
Charles Preston, who originated the cartoon "Pepper... and Salt" for the WSJ has died. He was 98.
In the old days, the first thing I would do, and I think that this is true for many others, is laugh from P+S and look at the daily graph. Sadly, this now is gone.
NC Voter ID got stiffed (again) in March for the primary. Then "The state Court of Appeals has overturned a trial-court ruling voiding amendments to North Carolina's constitution that voters approved two years ago" https://www.wral.com/nc-appeals-court-upholds-voter-id-tax-cap-amendments/19287208/
But
"Because of other lawsuits, voter ID remains on hold, and no identification will be required of voters during the upcoming general election."
I am so done with all the bs. Having said that not one customer brought up Trump’s hospitalization. All was “normal” today. Many more were forgetting the mask as well. Trump’s hospital stay was a non issue here as far as I can tell.
Dr J, loved Pepper and Salt. My first page on the Express from Bryn Mawr to Suburban Station, followed by the Editorial page. Along with most other passengers every morning in the 80s. RIP CharlesPreston.
Who didn’t vote for @realDonaldTrump in 2016 - but will in 2020, like me. I can’t be alone. I couldn’t vote for either last time. I just didn’t trust he would do what promised. He may be the first politician in my lifetime that DID keep his word. What was it for you?

This is one of the most despicable scenes in modern American political history. It reveals the depths of his narcissism and sociopathic indifference to human suffering. More than a wildly irresponsible public health message, it’s an act of outright evil.
Surely this was posted but I'll copy it anyway before starting catch-up.
JMH was just asking about this. AND ... it turns out the CDC is CLUELESS. What a simple yet unexpected outcome.
I'm dying of laughter ...
Insty:
THE SCIENCE IS SETTLED. BELIEVE IN SCIENCE. CDC reverses again, now says Covid-19 is ‘sometimes’ airborne. “For the third time in less than a month, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has altered its guidance on how Covid-19 spreads. The agency said Monday that airborne transmission is possible, but that it’s not the most common way the virus travels from person to person — a position that was published and then removed from its website in September.”

ccgirl.

The syndicate is this private army of intelligence operatives motivated by commmitment rather than profit. Thats much scarier and more realistic.

TC, if I recall correctly you live here in Mass as well. Spend a day in retail my friend, and you will be ready for AA! JK, but really working in retail requires some kind of medication. If one is not drinking, one is on some kind of prescription medication. Particularly in 2020. Can it end soon enough?

ccgirl, you are right to mention the low risk to your customer. People need to hear other points of view. Think of it as charity. :)
TC, mixing the grain and the grape! Totes brave. I am on beer #4. Granted it is a "light" IPA. But I must celebrate POTUS's grand return.

Then "The state Court of Appeals has overturned a trial-court ruling voiding amendments to North Carolina's constitution that voters approved two years ago"
https://www.wral.com/nc-appeals-court-upholds-voter-id-tax-cap-amendments/19287208/
But
"Because of other lawsuits, voter ID remains on hold, and no identification will be required of voters during the upcoming general election."

I am so done with all the bs. Having said that not one customer brought up Trump’s hospitalization. All was “normal” today. Many more were forgetting the mask as well. Trump’s hospital stay was a non issue here as far as I can tell.

Who didn’t vote for @realDonaldTrump in 2016 - but will in 2020, like me. I can’t be alone. I couldn’t vote for either last time. I just didn’t trust he would do what promised. He may be the first politician in my lifetime that DID keep his word. What was it for you?
===========================================
Right now there are 6500 affirmative votes on this.
