But one crazy thing on the right equalizes/justifies a hundred crazy things on the left.
Exactly. There's no proportionality at all, but it gives the "muh both sides do it" cover to those who are looking for such cover.
Mainly, in my experience, Dems who in their hearts know their side is wrong on issues they care about (like free speech) but want to believe that other side is bad. Like my mom.

This is standard reaction to a scary threat from outside. They don’t think that they can defeat the outside threat, so they turn on their friends and neighbors as targets because they think we are more vulnerable.
For those of you who read Harry Potter, it’s all there.
For those of you who missed my link to the Sponge Bob Sea Bear episode, take 5 minutes to watch now: https://youtu.be/68h8-ESTY6o
No you’ve missed the essential motivation: they want YOU to surrender control of YOUR life to THEM. They cloak themselves that this is the surrendering control to some super special elite experts, but the operative motivation is that THEY control what “experts” you submit to, and THEY enforce your submission. The content of the rules you submit to is largely irrelevant— it’s your submission that matters.Posted by: cathyf | October 05, 2020 at 10:19 AM
Ext, your son is the same age as my friend's son and it was at this friend's house that I first saw SpongeBob. 1998-1999, in there.
I thought it was kinda spastic until it was my time to watch it and then I completely loved it. And there are so many season, I'm always finding episodes I haven't seen.

I highly recommend The Sponge Bob Squarepants Movie--including a cameo by David Hasselhoff. It is completely idiotic but very funny. (I was dragged unwillingly by my kids into watching, and am now a full convert).

Dutchsinse has observed indications on NMF that would, if seen in CA, make him think an earthquake was possible in the near future.

If they remade Leave it to Beaver today, June wouldn't be an overdressed housewife; she'd have a better career than Ward, who'd be portrayed as a clueless dummy. Beaver would have to have his parents arrange playdates with Larry and Whitey, one of whom would be required to be black, and Lumpy would have two fathers.

Schumer said moving forward with the "already illegitimate nomination process" and holding the hearing for Judge Amy Coney Barrett's Supreme Court nomination without implementing testing would be "intentionally reckless."

Interesting results from your survey of the horde, Captain. Contra Gus, I wasn’t trying to “protect” Grenell, I just didn’t know what you were seeing/hearing. Perhaps it’s because we have a wider range of mannerisms in the south. A lot of men from New Orleans, for example, or old Virginia have exaggerated speech and gestural patterns that would practically break your gaydar, but they aren’t gay, and aren’t more likely to be gay than anyone else.

Can anyone give me a lead on where to find the article which purported to establish that COVID19 did not aerosolize after all? Was it from the CDC or somewhere else? Also, I think I remember people saying that asymptomatic people are not, in fact, contagious, and would like to find a source on that as well.
I have the opportunity to pass some counter-narrative info along to a lib. I was pleased to find that the article on masks as Talismans was published by the New England Journal of Medicine, which is the kind of "acceptable" source I'm looking for.
Any help would be appreciated.
