Sen. Josh Hawley commits to objecting to accepting Joe Biden as the next President. This will force a floor debate and a vote Biden will win but it lets Hawley position himself for 2024 as the Trumpiest candidate not named Trump.
Sen. Sasse of the Never Trump "Come home to reality" wing of the party (Wing?!? More like a stray crumpled feather...) lays out his concerns with this sort of grandstanding.

--Ignatz and all who think I am living in a fool's paradise...--
I said Trump was heroic; just not superheroic because there are no superheroes. That's very different than thinking you live in a fool's paradise, which I of course don't.
--BTW how exactly did Iggy "bitch slap" me? All he did was ignore the point and change the subject about hope and faith in Trump having a plan to somehow get re-elected into having hope and faith in God.--
I agree I didn't bitch slap you. I'm not even sure how one might go about doing that. But neither did I ignore the point. I answered the point that one should not be putting our faith in men whose intentions and abilities we don't really know and who will invariably let us down. If Trump has a plan I have neither faith nor hope that a successful one is going to appear at this late date. I would be happy to be proved wrong but it seems unlikely.
--However. Don't make this mistake. It was about Trump. Who else do you think would have survived the attacks and still got a lot of conservative aims accomplished.--
I sure as hell hope there is someone else because he is one guy who is 70 something years old and even were he to rise from political death and enjoy a second term he will have barely made a dent in the vast cultural and political swamp we are facing. Trump was where he was because we, the bitter clingers, the deplorables, the irredeemables put him there. Without us he had zero power and he is happy to recognize that. And after him we will have to grow and find many more Trumps, even craftier and stronger Trumps who may look and sound nothing like him and who may have completely different styles, but who will carry on the work of draining the swamp that is drowning our country. Had it been all about Trump Plouffe would have said we have to destroy Trump because he is their last hope; a one off. But he said he had to be destroyed so his kind wouldn't rise again. Who it is really about and always has been is us and our ability and desire to raise an endless string of subversive, shit kickers to replace the Quisling GOPe punks and take the battle to the progs.
If Trump truly was a one off then things are very simple; submit or begin the blood letting. If he wasn't a one off then it wasn't about him, it was about the army that raised him up and will raise up as many more as it takes to turn the country around.

Today Mrs. Buckeye had a tooth extracted in prep for an implant. This was a tooth that required a root canal some 3 decades ago. In the last few years root resorption has taken its toll.
She did fine, and has only needed one codeine pain pill today.

Jack, I do love the store! I meet so many different types of people almost every day. My father quit his job at Ratheon as a project manager to buy the store. (Not that simple, but that’s the short version). He was the right hand man to the CEO. He was loved by his customers. I learn something new everyday, and I can drag myself in dressed in a t-shirt and jeans. No more suits and heels (but thanks to that decade of banking I know finances).
Sorry to blab on. I am so grateful to have it, and I am blessed to have had the most wonderful parents. Parents paid to educate all of us, and the one that didn’t mix well with academics at college got the opportunity to learn to fly. Parents bought him a Cessna, which was fun at the time!
What’s happening these days breaks my heart. I will speak up and defend this great country when and where I can. I am grateful my parents aren’t here to witness this catastrophe.

jimmyk @ 6:58, my subway travels since March have been limited to a small stretch in Queens on the #7 elevated, which is about populated by about 75% Hispanic and 20% Asian, and mask wearing is (except for me) 100%, which I find depressing, but you have to consider that many of these passengers are immigrants from repressively governed lands. I don't even see many people doing the chin-strap semi-conformance thing.

ManTran, are you still interested in Graham Hancock? If so, I want to alert you to an interesting, long podcast/interview with Graham Hancock and another guy if you haven't seen it.
I'm half way through.
Robin posted about the Joe Rogan interview/podcast on Spotify with Alex Berenson which was great on several levels.
So I started to look for others.
1) This one with Graham Hancock and Brian Muraresku. BMur has classical language expertise and has done research into Eleusis and other religion-formative practices.
2) Moxie Marlinspike
Weird name, I know. He's a coder and is a founder of Signal. Signal is a messaging app ("texting") that encrypts your data. Texting on Android is in the clear. Apple iMsg is a bit better but easily broken to anyone with determination. There's a lot of buzz about people moving to Signal, also changing email to ProtonMail for better security from NSA, CIA, FBI, DNC and so on.
The Signal stuff is OK, the guy's had an interesting life and the highlight for me in this talk was his description of a near-death experience on SF Bay in a boat. Enthralling.
All the other Joe Rogan talks are with people I haven't heard of ... or don't approve of. But there are a ton, and I've only flipped though a few dozen pages of titles so far.
I should mention they mention a much older podcast with just Rogan and Hancock. But I didn't find that one yet.

You're in clarice. Thanks Rocco, I was pleasantly surprised at the name choice. Actually ever since my daughter met her husband her life's been on a continual upswing. I used to worry about her because she was subject to temporary dark moods starting when she was very young. I worked really hard with her to get her out of them but when she went off to school and afterward was constantly concerned. Then one day she called me, not her mother, and told me she started seeing a therapist who helped her with coping measures to deal with them. I told her that took a real burden off me because I couldn't force her to do something she didn't want to do. It still bothered her that her sister found a good husband so easily and I know she was getting desperate but once she met her husband it was like a natural fit. And she's reacted very well to motherhood.
So my job is really done.

There’s also a few videos by researchers at the University of Virginia Division of Perceptual Studies that highlight serious scientific research over the past 50 years done on the whole range of “paranormal” activities, like NDEs, out-of-body experiences, children’s reincarnation stories, past life regression, etc. etc.

What's supposed to be the revelation here? It's been known for a long time that there's a "John Roberts" on the flight log. The problem is establishing that it's the chief justice, and not just someone who shares that rather common name.
The official rules for classified information is that the nature of the information is of such significance that public release of the information would negatively affect US national security in some manner. The only name on those Epstein flight logs is John Roberts. If that was anyone other John Roberts besides the Chief Justice of the SCOTUS then by default release of those flight logs would not be a matter of national security. The fact those flight logs are marked with official classified markings is proof that the John Roberts listed is indeed the Chief Justice of the SCOTUS.
The fact that Patrick Byrne released that Epstein flight log on Twitter is an indication that someone on Team Trump gave it t him to leak to the public,

In that audio Ignatz linked for me by Jean Shepherd there was an old ad for "Miller High Life, the Champagne of Bottled Beer."
It mademe smile. My dad was a Budweiser guy but my Mom drank Miller High Life when we were on vacation, because it had clear glass bottles and she didn't trust the brown bottles of Bud. We all referred to it as "Nanny beer" and to this day I prefer it when I drink beer. (I am not a connoisseur, either.)
