I agree with Ilhan Omar (A Christmas Miracle!): youngsters like AOC have a civic duty to promote the vaccine but they ought to hold off on personally getting vaccinated until higher-risk folks get a shot.
As to the AOC rationale - the government made me do it! - well, what a socialist.
AOC said she found out she and other members of Congress would have access to the vaccine because of the 'continuity of governance' plan, 'basically a national security measure,' she explained to her Instagram followers
Lead-y or greedy?
And for a proud winner in a national science fair, she's not interested in vaccine science. She explained on Instagram that "immunity starts to kick in" after the follow-up shot in three weeks. Groan. Pfizer had impressive efficacy results roughly ten days after the first dose, but the second dose gets protection to full throttle.
Since the trial and approval were based on two doses that's what we are doing but if I were King For A Day I'd strongly consider using every available dose on the high-risk unvaccinated and hitting folks with a second dose as they become available (probably well past 21 days). Of course, if the King guesses wrong then a lot of front-line and elderly don't get adequate protection. Not Good! But as King I'd be bold enough to bring the DH to the National League, so I'd be bold enough to do this.

On me/my family taking a vaccine... 1) Nunya dang business, 2) elderly and front line healthcare workers first - at their choice, 3) it is and must be a choice for all, and 4) politicians doing PR stunts taking the vaccine in the name of showing it is safe is ridiculous. Thanks.

November 9 ·
Willie Brown, former SF Mayor and Kamala Harris lover who gave her first big Government job, opines on the potential election results:
"I hope Joe Biden is enjoying his victory over President Trump, because he is about to walk into a nightmare.
Biden has the White House, barring a legal Hail Mary from Trump. Kamala Harris will be vice president, and it seems Nancy Pelosi will still be House speaker. But that’s it.
There’s a good chance Republicans will have a narrow Senate majority, and that keeps Mitch McConnell in the driver’s seat. And believe me, he will hit the brakes on every piece of legislation that Biden and Pelosi try to move, just as he and the rest of the Republicans did during President Barack Obama’s second term.
McConnell is not the type of politician to compromise or seek peace. He wouldn’t even compromise with Donald Trump.
And he punishes people who go against him.
It will be gridlock.
Biden also faces a potential split among Democrats, with progressives eager to move on their agenda and moderates reading the election results as indicative of a much redder landscape than they expected.
It’s not a pretty picture.
The biggest thing Biden has going for him: He’s almost surely a one-term president, not because he’d be defeated for re-election but because he’ll be 81 during a 2024 campaign and probably won’t run. That gives him the freedom to forget about scoring points for himself and concentrate on what will actually help the country.
Why Dems underperformed: We were tantalized with the the possibility of a blue wave once again sweeping ashore on election day. What we got was muddy water.
Democrats hoped they could flip the Senate. They might still, but it looks like it will depend on winning two Georgia runoff elections Jan. 5. That’s a long shot.
Democrats hoped they would increase their House majority. Instead, it got narrower.
It’s clear that the Democratic Party has lost its way. We no longer generate much excitement outside the Sunday morning talk shows.
We have to stop telling voters what they should do, and instead start listening to what voters want us to do.
Democrats, and that includes me, have become the elites. And we will keep disappointing ourselves in elections unless we rethink what we are doing.
Simple solution: The tug-of-war over vote counting has made it clear that we need one nationwide standard in federal elections.
Let the states and counties continue to decide the guidelines for local races, but when it comes to the federal part of the ballot, there should be a firm set of rules.
And we need to give people a way to vote digitally. After all, if the financial world can figure out how to make make billions of dollars in electronic transactions, if you can pay just about all your bills and even your taxes electronically, then we should be able to come up with a safe way to vote online.
Another rule ought to be that the vote has to be in the registrar’s office by 8 p.m. on election day. None of this waiting 17 days for the mail to come in.
You get the ballot a month ahead of time. Don’t wait around." Nov. 7, 2020

Some of the discrepancies include cherry picked trial participants to achieve the desired results to gain EUA, as well as 13 total deaths in the trials – 6 in the vaccinated group and 7 in the placebo. Something the media refuses to address.

Only a political outsider could challenge kemp in a primary. Someone already in the legislature would have their constituents threatened with no further power for primarying him.
Essentially our choices would be admitted socialists or perfidious fascists in those races. What these men have done is pure evil and it wouldn't surprise me a bit if ultimately some nut case takes out their ire with force.
Telling citizens they have effectively been deprived of their vote because you refuse to allow anyone not of the political class to hold power is insurrectionary. Members of President-elect Joe Biden's (D) White House transition effort cautioned Tuesday that he would not undo all of President Trump's changes to the U.S. immigration system overnight, and explained that incoming administration officials would "need time" to pursue such efforts.

If you read the article, you discover that The Hill is reporting on a phone interview reported by the Washington Post, that the transition team members are never identified, that although it sounds like Susan Rice it is apparently NOT her, that it goes against what Biden told NBC News ("within the first 100 days") and is, in effect, not really anything except some rumored blather.

Sep 28 2020 Application (20A53) for a stay, submitted to Justice Alito.
Sep 29 2020 Response to application (20A53) requested by Justice Alito, due Monday, October 5, by 3 p.m.
Nov 06 2020 Order issued by Justice Alito: All county boards of election are hereby ordered, pending further order of the Court, to comply with the following guidance provided by the Secretary of the Commonwealth on October 28 and November 1, namely, (1) that all ballots received by mail after 8:00 p.m. on November 3 be segregated and kept “in a secure, safe and sealed container separate from other voted ballots,” and (2) that all such ballots, if counted, be counted separately. Pa. Dep’t of State, Pennsylvania Guidance for Mail-in and Absentee Ballots Received From the United States Postal Service After 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 (Oct. 28, 2020); Pa. Dep’t of State, Canvassing Segregated Mail-in and Civilian Absentee Ballots Received by Mail After 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 and Before 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2020 (Nov. 1, 2020). Until today, this Court was not informed that the guidance issued on October 28, which had an important bearing on the question whether to order special treatment of the ballots in question, had been modified. The application received today also informs the Court that neither the applicant nor the Secretary has been able to verify that all boards are complying with the Secretary’s guidance, which, it is alleged, is not legally binding on them. I am immediately referring this application to the Conference and direct that any response be filed as soon as possible but in any event no later than 2 p.m. tomorrow, November 7, 2020.

Good afternoon! Yes, it is a bit chilly in Florida, but I'm not complaining! Hubby had a tooth extracted and bone graft yesterday. Ouch. He actually feels pretty good, he only took one Tylenol today.
Apparently, Covid fear is rampant up north. We've heard thru the family grapevine that Christmas dinners will be small gatherings. We received a card from a nephew and his wife that they are expecting a baby in June.
Life goes on!

Earlier this year a group of Black Lives Matter organizers won a suit against the city of Detroit alleging police had used excessive force against protestors. But now the city is suing them right back saying demonstrators were part of a "civil conspiracy."

It is good of the pope to resign, leaving room a Biden administration appointment.

Hello Davod, see my 4:01. I'm Catholic, and I'm American. Both sliding into a leftist cesspool.

GUS! Did you see the Beatles reference in my comment? I'm listening to way too much Beatles on Sirius when I'm driving around doing errands. :)

Gus. Yes. But I meant he was leaving the Pope spot open for Biden to fill.

I was at Calvert Cliffs in the early 70's when we were handing out 15% raises like it was Halloween candy
Yep, those were the days!
I started my career in ‘75. Was tired of being a starving college student. Worked my butt off and got several of those big raises:)

Cap'n "Those were strange times, Jack."
And yet my partner and I left secure jobs in 1978 to start our own development company using Cash Advances from our Visa cards, then we borrowed real money from banks at Prime + 4% when Prime was about 20%.
I was turning 30 and had always said I would be on my own by that age or never.
It worked out fine.

MARLENE, I've prolly mentioned that I LOVE THE BEATLES.
Do YOU have a favorite BEATLES SONG??
Mine has been TICKET TO RIDE. But I've been listening to HAPPINESS IS A WARM GUN a lot recently.

Joe Biden laughs when Fox News' Peter Doocy asks if he still thinks the allegations against Hunter Biden are Russian disinformation:
"Yes, yes, yes. God love you, man. You're a one horse pony."

King Edward VI followed Henry VIII, and was followed by Lady Jane Grey (the nine days queen), Queen Mary I (Bloody Mary, the first acknowledged Queen regnant in English history) then Queen Elizabeth I (the Virgin Queen).
