I agree with Ilhan Omar (A Christmas Miracle!): youngsters like AOC have a civic duty to promote the vaccine but they ought to hold off on personally getting vaccinated until higher-risk folks get a shot.
As to the AOC rationale - the government made me do it! - well, what a socialist.
AOC said she found out she and other members of Congress would have access to the vaccine because of the 'continuity of governance' plan, 'basically a national security measure,' she explained to her Instagram followers
Lead-y or greedy?
And for a proud winner in a national science fair, she's not interested in vaccine science. She explained on Instagram that "immunity starts to kick in" after the follow-up shot in three weeks. Groan. Pfizer had impressive efficacy results roughly ten days after the first dose, but the second dose gets protection to full throttle.
Since the trial and approval were based on two doses that's what we are doing but if I were King For A Day I'd strongly consider using every available dose on the high-risk unvaccinated and hitting folks with a second dose as they become available (probably well past 21 days). Of course, if the King guesses wrong then a lot of front-line and elderly don't get adequate protection. Not Good! But as King I'd be bold enough to bring the DH to the National League, so I'd be bold enough to do this.
What wil happen today, Jane? Hopefully the TC goodies will take your mind off the H2O deficit! :-))

A-mom in the wee hours: " Instead of trying everything to save a life, their goal during the crisis is to save as many patients as possible. Those less likely to survive would not get the same kind of care offered in normal times."
See, that would make a lot of sense in a true time of war type threat and most everybody would understand.
But at this stage of the "game" it is clear to all that Covid is not and never was such a threat, rather it was simply a device to scare the entire globe into compliance with the Globalists' Wet Dream of Total Control.
And it seems to have worked.
At best (for Progs), the Globalists will accomplish their dreams. At the least, this LA Hospital Policy preps Deplorables for the health care rationing and death committees that we have all known must come with Socialized Medicine. Sell it as part of the Covid Pandemic; keep it around long after the crisis is gone.

THIS "Interesting thread which begins this way:
" BREAKING: Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said via Belarusian Telegraph Agency, BEITA, that the World Bank and IMF offered him a bribe of $940 million United States Dollars in the form of "Covid Relief Aid" on condition that he do the following:
2) Impose an "extreme lockdown on his people"
Force them to wear face masks.
Impose very strict curfews.
Impose a police state.
Crash the economy."
----
...is why I hate the entire concept of Twitter. On the one hand, I am predisposed to believe every single word of MM's 7:13 post. But my rational brain (and the cynicism born of the last ten years) says that it might be just as made up to stir MY emotions as so many other propaganda efforts going in both directions have been.
I am so so tired of being played.

It is genuinely astonishing that after all these years, and all the outright lies Kristol has told, that gullible people treat his claims about secret conversations he had with anonymous sources -- ones which *always* perfectly coincide with his political agenda -- as credible.
Bill Kristol @BillKristol
1. This thread is based on recent conversations with people whose information and judgment I trust, who in turn have spoken candidly with Trump appointees still on the inside.
Here's a question: Why did Trump and Barr, when they negotiated Barr's departure, settle on Dec. 23?

As long as you serve the establishment's agenda of militarism and corporatism, there's nothing you can do - no lie big enough, no claim false enough - to lose credibility.
They'll scapegoat a Judy Miller if things get too glaring, but she's an Oracle of Truth compared to Kristol
Bill Kristol has never been anything other than a tawdry neocon propagandist and never will be. Yet he's now literally one of liberals' most trusted and cherished pundits, a regular MSNBC guest, a social media star to Dems.
They have the spokesman that movement deserves.

Trump should send a letter to Congress explaining that before they are politicians with agendas they are Americans, and to revise the 'Covid bill' to put Americans first.

For example, I have no idea whether Trump is making plays to actually get sworn back in on Jan 20, or whether his goal, sensing that is impossible, is to solidify an army of 75,000,000 for use in the future for "something" and for "somebody" and at "sometime".

OL, I think a news consumer needs to be in the mode of an intelligence analyst. One reads stuff from various places, and realizes a lot of it is fake news, facts taken out of context, and slanted rhetoric. Hopefully one is able to get a reasonable view of the actual facts from all the paint splattered on the wall.
Unfortunately, given jobs and family responsibilities, there may not be enough time to do a thorough intelligence analyst's job on the news without loss of sleep.

OL, I'm fine with Trump throwing up Hail Marys at the end of the game with a dual purpose ((i) small chance Congress doesn't certify enough electors to throw matters into the House, and (ii) planning for the next phase of his assault on the Uniparty (whether planning for a 2024 run, starting a new social media network, both of these, or something else)). If Trump can discredit the vote by mail process, that itself would be a major accomplishment. In addition, keeping up enthusiasm for a big turnout for GOP candidates in the Georgia runoff may be an additional benefit.

Local news has a story which began in June. It is picked up out of Tampa and I couldn't get it to post here.
Yesterday 20 Golden Retrievers arrived from China, via the efforts of a local (Tampa) rescue group, which said they had managed to rescue them in China and were holding them there until they could get them here with owners willing to adopt them. Otherwise, they might have been butchered for sale on the dog meat market.
All very heartwarming, and I do think there should be more publicity about the dog meat market in China, because people like my daughter were unaware such a thing existed, and she was horrified.
HOWEVER, I do have some questions:
1. Why do we have dog adoption groups still in China?
2. Are the dogs able to carry the Corona virus?
3. How much did we have to pay the Chinese to get the dogs here?
4. Are the Chinese making money by holding dogs hostage, or is this a money laundering operation?

From the bird shaped drone link;
"The poachers are armed with powerful long-range rifles and scopes so Aves used for anti-poacher patrol will probably have to stay at max altitude to avoid gunfire."
This writer has evidently never shot a gun or at least one at a moving target
It's hard enough hitting a clay pigeon at 90 feet with a shotgun pattern.
Hitting a drone going 30 mph at 500-5,000 feet with a rifle is next to impossible.
