First christmas day we have not had movie tickets in more than a decade.
Put in two bottles of champagne to chill this morning. The kids gave me cocktails in a mason jar from a place called Jar Jar Drinks. Yesterday we had their most excellent sangria in what used to be my mil's lovely holly ribbons wine glasses. Apparently the pattern has now been discontinued and I could get a nice riedel glass for what Replacements quotes now.
Momto2, that quilt pic from last night was beautiful. My late mother was a big time quilter and I believe I have her best effort ever hanging on my wall in our family room. The material in your quilt makes for a quite poignant story. Thanks for sharing it.
Merry Christmas to all! I woke at 4:00 but it was chilly so went back to bed.

That right there shows you the divergence of opinion in this household! We did both get a good laugh out of it!
Growing up we always had turkey for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. That changed when my wife and I started gathering at her parents for the holidays. My mil always cooked a prime rib for Christmas and I do love Prime Rib but it didn't feel like the Christmas I knew. And I never once complained or mentioned it to my wife, until a few days ago since we're not gathering at her parents anymore. So when my wife mentioned a prime rib for Christmas I said Honey, you know it's written in stone that Christmas should be celebrated with turkey. She asked how so? So I started singing, Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe, help to make the season bright." Turkey it is!
I watched this 2 hour interview with Patrick Byrne and I'm absolutely stunned if his claims are true. And I believe him.
"Ham what am" here in the Midwest, although that has changed with the advent of veganism in this household. I satisfy my longing with cold cuts from Kroger.

Merry Christmas from the Front Range. We saw a clear window in the WX so blew off the rock about 10 yesterday morning and after a fuel stop at the Boeing plant made it to Denver about 4:00 MST so about 5 hrs door to door. Just in time for a GG/tonic and a ham dinner at the kids.
Special treat along with everything else, we got to see the conjunction for an hour, or so. The big guys had separated to maybe 0.25 deg, or about half the moon diameter.
Is anyone, besides maryrose I'm sure, getting pounded by snow today. We've had at least 2 feet and it's still coming. Fortunately even though there's lots of it it's fairly light and fluffy, which I know from having shoveled it twice although there's currently scant evidence of that. Plus early this morning I helped push a neighbor out of a drift so she could get to work at the Cleveland Clinic.
Although I consider RG a delusional loon, at least his bizarre tweets are a break from the unrelenting disinformation from the enemedia, the latter of which has given me a terrible case of insomnia for three days.
TWO FEET? Wow! The cold is what's hitting us here. However, my son says a warm-up starts tomorrow. (He's still a weather watcher due to his long experience in the landscaping/snow removal business.)

Captain Hate and all fellow JOMers:
Merry Christmas to all and to our host Tom Maguire.
We are buried in snow with snow up to my knees when I went out to clean off the car. Two feet of snow with temperature at 19 this morning. The snow started as I left Mass yesterday at 5:00 pm and hasn’t let up.
We are warm and. Oozy and full after Honeybaked ham slices, turkey and meatloaf with mashed potatoes and a tossed salad. Christmas cookies for dessert with Russell Stover chocolates.
Very stress free Christmas.
Momto2:

The greatest of all time. Fake News!

Breitbart News
@BreitbartNews
The elitist snobs in the fashion press have kept the most elegant First Lady in American history off the covers of their magazines for 4 consecutive years.
https://www.breitbart.com/entertainment/2020/12/23/melania-trump-sleek-leather-thigh-high-boots/
================================
Breitbart article has lots of pictures of the First Lady in a dynamite outfit.
And may I say, it has aggravated me to no end that she has never had a magazine cover while we were overwhelmed by the hideous Michelle Obama outfits. Also, Laura Bush should have had a fashion consultant to tell her that short, busty women shouldn't wear round necklines as it makes them look dumpy.

I hope you had a good Christmas and I found Iggy’s summation of our current situation enlightening.
I will always regard Hit fondly though we disagree politically.
I have made a New Year’s resolution to devote less time to politics.
This past month and a half have truly disillusioned me.
It truly was unfair and lawless with fraud and lies and dishonesty.
I won’t let it interfere in my relationships with friends or related family members.
I am very glad Dinesh posted it on Rumble, because I looked for it quite a while last night and couldn't find it. I have no memory of a president making such a straightforward message about the significance of Christmas and Christ's birth. It's only a little under 3 minutes - please watch it.
The President and First Lady have released a Christmas message that all of America needs to see: https://t.co/Jb6swz7A6Q
"...Recently the governor of Wisconsin, “one term” Tony Evers opened up an Alternate Care Facility outside of Milwaukee, at the Wisconsin State Fair Park. I have been watching the patient count there – you can too, right here. From Saturday to Sunday, there was an insane increase of 20% (!!!) of patients. While this sounds menacing, we went from five to six in reality (see, I can do covid pOrn just as good as the media). Since then we have had a FIFTY percent reduction in patients at that facility, from six down to three..."

I understand, maryrose, of course that is a choice one must make -- to leave politics totally out of a relationship. I am trying to live this very thing right now. However, if the relationship is superficial, then one can make judgments.
To watch people you once admired approve of the basest of behaviors, even applaud them, as in approving of giant, powerful institutions using lies, subterfuge, and cheating to destroy a man, then I think there is something wrong with approving, even applauding, joking, and supporting that behavior. My goodness, think of the power of the government. Those snakes have been free to work every scheme they could dream up to hurt weaker people, bankrupt them. They're (Weissman) even planning on going after Trump, General Flynn, and poor sick Manafort again, even Roger Stone. When people who have sworn oaths to uphold truth, our Constitution, and even the American way of holding elections, and you enjoy seeing all of that power used to, again I will use the word destroy, to ruin someone who was legally elected (and I'm talking about 2016) then I think there's something wrong with that person's character. It is worrisome.
Today is a day for rejoicing, for peace, and for family, and I'm sorry I brought it up, didn't mean to start something serious. But, applauding or enjoying the destruction of Donald Trump is, as the old cliche goes -- a bridge too far for me.
How interesting that I happened upon this letter by Vassar Bushmills going over what is being risked by letting Biden shove his way ito the White House:
What I say to my Jazzy when she jumps up on the bed in the morning with a toy in her mouth and flops across my body. And I have a silly grin on my face...🥲

I teared up when I saw that picture of your beautiful quilt.
What an endearing gift. I wish I lived closer to you as in real life, I am sure we would be close friends just like on this blog.
You all have such wonderful qualities which I am grateful for each day.
So great to hear from Caro and Endv and Tonti as well as so many others.
Ccgirl: Life always has a way of surprising you and family will come through in the end.
May the New Year bring multiple blessings and remind us that as free individuals we are in charge of our destiny.

On my 3:09 re the 'first comment' -- I was on my phone then checking emails, plus, it was the first comment to Brit Hume not Haberman and was posted by Jeff Dobbs. I know everyone or most everyone on jom thinks hit is wonderful, and he was, plus he was witty, but he's always surprised me about his continued contempt for President Trump; seemingly never giving an inch as far as what good the President has done.

The greatest of all time. Fake News!
==========
Breitbart News
@BreitbartNews
The elitist snobs in the fashion press have kept the most elegant First Lady in American history off the covers of their magazines for 4 consecutive years.
https://www.breitbart.com/entertainment/2020/12/23/melania-trump-sleek-leather-thigh-high-boots/
================================
(end of Miss Marple's rant.)

Joan:
I hope you had a good Christmas and I found Iggy’s summation of our current situation enlightening.
I will always regard Hit fondly though we disagree politically.
I have made a New Year’s resolution to devote less time to politics.
This past month and a half have truly disillusioned me.
It truly was unfair and lawless with fraud and lies and dishonesty.
I won’t let it interfere in my relationships with friends or related family members.

Retweeted by the President.
I am very glad Dinesh posted it on Rumble, because I looked for it quite a while last night and couldn't find it. I have no memory of a president making such a straightforward message about the significance of Christmas and Christ's birth. It's only a little under 3 minutes - please watch it.

From Chicagoboyz:
"...Recently the governor of Wisconsin, “one term” Tony Evers opened up an Alternate Care Facility outside of Milwaukee, at the Wisconsin State Fair Park. I have been watching the patient count there – you can too, right here. From Saturday to Sunday, there was an insane increase of 20% (!!!) of patients. While this sounds menacing, we went from five to six in reality (see, I can do covid pOrn just as good as the media). Since then we have had a FIFTY percent reduction in patients at that facility, from six down to three..."

Merry Christmas, all! That quilt, Mom2two--what a dear thing. I hope it brings you some lasting comfort.
Narc, have you tried Greene's Monsignor Quixote? Short, funny, very funny, very Christian--rather that the tortured Christian theme you find elsewhere in his work.
God bless us, every one!

The Moshiach is no mere “Son of David:
The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.
Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.
The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.
The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.
He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries.
He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.
Psalm 110

NORTH POLE—After a transformative moment reading R.C. Sproul’s What Is Reformed Theology? for the first time earlier this week, legendary Christmas icon Santa Claus reportedly converted to a full-on, five-point Calvinist, and almost immediately moved every single person on the planet to the naughty list, sources confirmed Friday.

Flying Horse Alert!! Break Out the Patio Umbrellas, Stat!

@travisakers
On Thursday, it was revealed white supremacists were developing plans to target U.S. power grids and key infrastructure.
Authorities have not publicly linked Christmas morning’s terrorist attack in Nashville to this plot, but that would certainly be feasible.
Travis Akers @travisakers
In a search warrant affidavit that was mistakenly unsealed, it was revealed by the FBI that white supremacists were planning to attack the nation's power grid if Donald Trump lost re-election.
