Under the 2018 EO the US would stand to cease and estimated 145 billion dollars in Chinese assets.. Also to be included in this seizure would be 1.07 trillion dollars of debt owed to the Chinese...
Well played DJT, you are definitely the touted mastermind many claim...

I believe the above should read "seize an estimated 145 billion dollars".
I claim ZERO understanding of the financial ramifications of that EO or what is possible under it, nor how China would react. This is provided for information as to what is bubbling up in the world of Twitter. ----MM

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the House
Not a Democrat was stirring, not even a louse;
The Bills were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that A Socialist soon would be there;
The children were nestled all cold in their beds;
While visions of being back in school danced in their heads;
And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter's trap.
When out on the Mall there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow,
Gave a lustre of midday to objects below,
When what to my wondering eyes did appear,
But a miniature sleigh and eight tiny endangered rein-deer,
With a little old hag so pitiful and slick,
I knew in a moment she must be Pelosi that witch.
More rapid than eagles her coursers they came,
And she whistled, and snorted, and called them by name:
"Now, AOC! now, Swalwell! now Jeffries and Lofgren!
On, Schiff! on, Pressley! on, Nadler and Tlaib!
To the top of the Dome! to the top of the Mall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"
As leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky;
So up to the Housetop the coursers they flew
With the sleigh full of free shit and the Speaker too—
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney Pelosi came with a bound.
She was dressed all in fur, from her head to her foot,
And her clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of toys she had taken flung on her back,
And she looked like a robber just opening his sack .
Her eyes—how bloodshot! her pimples, how cherry!
Her cheeks were like wrinkled, her nose like a berry!
Her droll little mouth was drawn up like a cow,
And the beard on her chin was as white as the snow;
The stump of a pipe she held tight in her teeth,
And the smoke, it encircled her head like a sheath;
She had a broad face and a little round belly
That shook when she laughed, like a bowl full of KY Jelly.
She was sickly and dump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw her, in spite of myself;
A wink of her eye and a twist of her head
Soon gave me to know I had everything to dread;
She spoke not a word, but went straight to her work,
And filled all her bags with valuables; then turned with a jerk,
And laying her finger inside of her nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney she rose;
She sprang to her sleigh, to her team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like criminals on the lamb,
But I heard him exclaim, ere she drove out of sight—
“There will be NO Christmas at all and to all no good night!”

Posted by: Jane | December 16, 2020 at 10:50 AM
Narciso,
Of course they cheated then. They screwed around with the vote totals to make it seem like Obama's 2012 "victory" was reasonable.
They were certain they had miscalculated in 2016 (small Trump margin in several states) so they increased the weighted vote in the Dominion machines.
Remember how Trump told us to vote in person? Remember how he had all of those airport rallies with huge numbers of people showing up, even though they knew most couldn't get in? That was to encourage people to vote in person as a demonstration (and also to make it more difficult to mess around with the vote totals because they would have less time).
When the Trump numbers proved far higher than the Democrats anticipated, the Democrats had a short time frame to work in; they went into full panic mode and shut down counting (forgetting to stagger the times shut downs were initiated) and made other foolish errors.
Now people are still asking uncomfortable questions about OTHER elections (including 2012) despite people like Mitch McConnell making bone-headed statements calling Biden the president-elect.
My inner cynic is warring with my internal, eternal optimistic nature, and which will be proven right, I do not know.

Cecil Turner,
You don’t know me and probably wouldn’t want to; however, for years I enjoyed your intelligent and thought provoking comments. You added so much to discussions on this blog. I never did address you before but I’m going to comment on what you said this morning:
First you criticize:
“…discussions devolve into personalities, usually based on nonsense”,
“Along with various not-very-veiled jabs that make my point about insults better than I ever could.”
“many Trump supporters seem so invested they lose perspective.”
Then you make a comment about Hunter Biden: “And the Hunter Biden tax evasion investigation. I don't have any more (or less) concern about him being prosecuted than them . . . and don't see why I should.’
I don’t even understand this one. “who is ‘them’? The people shouting ‘lock her up’? I think the general opinion on here about Hunter Biden is the way his larceny was hidden by our own Justice Department and FBI and lied about by his father.
My daughter and I were talking about a person we love who is infected with 100% Trump Derangement Syndrome, and I said, ‘I’m not going to get into a discussion with him even though he keeps trying to force one on me. If I do say something noncommittal he comes back and attacks me. She responded, ‘That’s what I don’t understand about people who want to tell you how they feel about things, when you try and say what you think, they get angry. They brought up the subject, but they don’t want to hear what you have to say.’
So, what did you expect when you came back here and started discussing President Trump’s mistakes? Agreement? Polite debate? Not after almost five years of the left’s lies and the hate spewed by Comey, Clapper, Brennan, CBSNBCABC,MSNBC,CNN, plus the lies on major newspapers.
Now, you can SOB me.

I listened to the Project Veritas recording of Assange talking to someone at the State Department. I'm not exactly certainly what the significant revelation is here. I think the revelation is that 1) Bradley Manning gave the 250K+ State department cables to Wikileaks
2) A fired Wikileaks employee had a copy of the cables
3) Assange called the State Department to warn the US that the fired employee was about to release them to the public and that Wikileaks had nothing to do with it.
4) The cables were released to the public by the fired employee and Assange had nothing to do with it.
If that is correct, is the purpose of this new video to prove that Assange is not guilty of what the Deep State accuses him of and that he never should have been indicted in the first place?

I don’t even understand this one. “who is ‘them’? The people shouting ‘lock her up’?
I think this belonged on the dead thread, but . . .
Steve's point (paraphrased) was various personalities (including me) would be all "Yeah, it's true that in America we don't go after our political rivals" when Dem AGs and prosecutors "came after Pres Trump and his family." "Them" is Hillary and Hunter.
I get you're okay with going after Hunter Biden. And frankly I don't have any problem with it. What you can't see, apparently, is that it's hypocritical to simultaneously maintain Pres Trump is somehow immune on principle to prosecution.

"All of which I wouldn't give the first bloody crap about, except for words put into my mouth which I didn't and wouldn't say."
Well, there you go: I am not a hypocrite.
Do the democrats have his laptop?
I never said President Trump is somehow immune on principle to prosecution. The AG of NY has been going after him for seemingly years if I'm to believe what's reported. Suing for his business records. He was investigated by Mueller for, what, 2-1/2 to 3 years, then investigated and impeached by Nadler, et al. If the President was dirty, he'd be gone long ago.
It's not hypocritical to hate unfairness, to hate what's been done to President Trump. I didn't like him when he seemed to come from out of nowhere and win the nomination. I do admire his strength of character in working for the average American. Unless there is evidence out there that somehow the left hasn't managed to uncover, he appears to be a decent man. A decent man who has been subjected to cruel, devious attacks and obstruction. Instead of being silenced or weakening and slinking away, he's fought back. I admire his courage.

We had a typical windstorm a couple days ago with gusts in the 40kt range along with lots of rain. The next morning I found a little Junco on the deck with a tiny twig that suggested that it was blown out of the adjacent tree while hanging on to a limb and must have been blown into the house.

KK: I've been wanting to ask you, is it Garden of Life supplements you're taking? I can't seem to get nine servings :) or however many it is of the fruits and vegetables you're supposed to eat every day. I drink a glass of wheat grass several times a week, try and work in other greens, plus a banana or apple, but ... don't always succeed.
I do eat a baked sweet potato for breakfast sometimes. :)

KK-did you see what I posted for you yesterday on previous thread?
It was Oakland City Schools. It was also from that SoLD alliance that zuck is funding and Darling-Hammond is involved with.
I have another webinar this afternoon. So many confessions.

https://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/2020/12/courage-vs-covid-jack-kerwick/ is very good. Leave it to cs lweis to put this into perspective.
A reader recently brought to my attention an article that C.S. Lewis had written on the panic over the prospect of an atomic bomb attack that had seized the members of his generation. Lewis’s contemporaries at least had something truly dangerous to fear, for an atomic bomb, being an indiscriminate killer, was certain to leave in its wake widespread destruction and death. Nothing remotely similar can be said for COVID. Still, it is worth revisiting Lewis’s sagacious counsel, as his words resonate, or should resonate, more profoundly for those of us living today than perhaps at any other time within recent memory.
In “On Living in an Atomic Age,” Lewis shares how he is “tempted to reply” to those who question how life should proceed under the constant threat of nuclear attack. “’Why, as you would have lived in the sixteenth century when the plague visited London almost every year, or as you would have lived in a Viking age when raiders from Scandinavia might land and cut your throat at night; or indeed, as you are already living in an age of cancer, an age of syphilis, an age of paralysis, an age of air raids, an age of railway accidents, an age of motor accident.’”
Lewis elaborates, warning against the loss of perspective that arises “by exaggerating the novelty of our situation.” Death was “a certainty” long before the invention of the atomic bomb. What “the scientists” have done is simply add “one more chance of painful and premature death to a world which already bristled with such chances [.]”
This being the case, if and when it comes, “let that bomb…find us doing sensible and human things—praying, working, teaching, reading, listening to music, bathing the children, playing tennis, chatting to our friends over a pint and a game of darts,” and “not huddled together like frightened sheep and thinking about bombs. They may break our bodies…but they need not dominate our minds [.]”
Lewis concludes with a warning that all of us in the “COVID era” should take to heart:
“Nothing is more likely to destroy a species or a nation than a determination to survive at all costs.”

I don't think CH filed any of the requisite JOM leave of absence documents.

I never said President Trump is somehow immune on principle to prosecution.
Then I suggest you missed the point in the original (admittedly paraphrased).
If the President was dirty, he'd be gone long ago.
It's a theory.
It's not hypocritical to hate unfairness, to hate what's been done to President Trump.
It is if you only hate it because it happens to be happening to Pres Trump. (And support something similar against someone else.)
And sorry Joan, but this is exactly the sort of back and forth that I don't care for. Free hits. cheers.

I'm in a baking mood. Bread.
My two options: 1) A no knead Rosemary-Olive, or 2) An Irish Soda bread. The soda bread doesn't last long and is best out of the oven.
Frederick is coming home on the 20th. Currently in London with friends. He wants me to back a couple of Pumpkin pies. So I have that on the agenda also. That and a Mince Meat pie for Christmas dinner.
Choices!

Dilley re-cap:
1. Senator Johnson gets points for going after Senator Peters in committee and calling him a liar to his face. (Clip shown.) He gets demerits for saying "underminded" instead of "undermined".
2. Shows clip from Maria Bartiromo's show in which she says her sources in the intelligence community say that President Trump won the election, no doubt. (I hope someone steps forward who is willing to reveal his/her name and provide what we know in our hearts is true.)
3. Shows quite a bit of the Project Veritas video with Julian Assange talking to a lawyer for the State Department under Hillary's watch.
4. Discussion of how many people do not want to be forced to take the vaccine, how the survival rate from Covid is actually a little bit better than from complications from taking the vaccine.
Probably some other stuff, but I have been dealing with naughty pets knocking over bookshelves and other work-making annoyances, so will review and add anything else later in the day.
(By the way, this is a good exercise in why FBI 302's are simply a way for them to make up what they want on the subject's report, as it is very difficult to do a detailed recap, which is what those 302's are claimed to be by the FBI.)

Since biden was for the nuclear freeze, then we'll probably be going for abject surrender, just like eliminating fracking is a point against us.
