The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced Thursday that it intends to impose travel restrictions to Hong Kong on U.S. officials in retaliation for similar measures put on Chinese officials going to Washington.

According to the Associated Press, Spokesperson Hua Chunying said U.S. diplomatic passport holders visiting Hong Kong and Macao will temporarily lose their visa-free entry privileges, and U.S. administration officials, including congressional staffers, employees, and immediate family members of people working for nongovernmental organizations, will also face "reciprocal sanctions."

Hooray for Bill Ligon - at least we have ONE Republican elected official in Ga. with some courage! (He actually dated one of my good friends many years ago when he was just a young lawyer starting out. My husband introduced them and we hoped she might be "the one" but it was not meant to be.) He comes from a wonderful coastal Ga. family - his dad was a pastor.

Today would have been our 32nd wedding anniversary. I'm thankful for the 30 great years we had together. If you still have your spouse, do something sweet for him/her today.

We have evidence, and a corroborating witness. Everyone seems to have forgotten that Tony Bobulinski’s claims confirm the authenticity of Hunter’s laptop as indisputable evidence of Joe Biden’s corruption. Bobulinski, a patriotic American citizen, came forward to defend himself against accusations of being part of a Russian disinformation campaign and confirmed that Joe Biden accepted millions of dollars from the Communist Chinese through his son Hunter. The evidence of Joe Biden’s corruption is ubiquitous, actually, and that body of evidence grows by the day. Tucker Carlson’s most recent bombshell report revealed that a Chinese economics professor confirmed in a speech that foreign agents have corrupted our federal government at the highest levels. He also confirmed we are in a war -- as he put it, a trade war. If the translation is correct (and two translators said it was), this economics professor just bragged that the Communist Chinese government “have people at the top” (of the U.S. government.)

Well, doesn’t that just warm the cockles of your heart? There can be little doubt left that Chinese influences corrupted the 2020 elections, interfering on behalf of Joe Biden. Given their admitted bias against Donald Trump, is there any reason to assume the release of the virus and election interference wasn’t a deliberate act of war?

Narciso

Here are some bits

In support of the theory that China released the virus on purpose as an act of war, we can see signs of aggression on multiple fronts -- health and economic being the most obvious. In February of this year, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo revealed that the Chinese government keeps a list of U.S. governors organized by whether or not the governors were susceptible to Chinese influence. Interestingly, even though Georgia governor Brian Kemp was listed as a hardliner (presumably meaning pro-American, anti-Chinese) this amazing website, apparently written in Mandarin and owned by the state of Georgia to promote Chinese investments, would seem to suggest Kemp is a lot friendlier to the Chinese than his inclusion on the list implies.

Back in September, Tucker Carlson interviewed Dr. Li-Meng Yan, a well-known Chinese virologist. She made the sensational claim that in her expert opinion the COVID-19 virus was manmade in a Wuhan laboratory, not a natural virus emerging from the “wet markets'

With all the tech censorship of the elction fraud and biden's corruption, never forget they are a key player in the transformation MH vision.

Digital technology and data shape both organizational operations and individual interactions, not only in our personal lives, but more and more in civil society, where it is increasingly used by nonprofit organizations and social movements to coordinate action, empower constituencies, elevate issues, and mobilize support.

But the same mechanisms can just as easily operate to undermine democracy and civil society—for example when social media and targeted messaging is used to disinform and foment polarization. Digital engagement has its own technical, ethical, and security limitations, and its widespread use has tested our social and political structures.

What are the trends and technologies heightening concerns over the use of data and digital tools? How are different actors – movement builders, platforms, elected officials – working to improve upon or leverage these tools and processes to be better applied for the benefit of all? What steps are being taken to address crucial issues of equity and justice that are part of our social fabric? How can we build alternative approaches that recognize that people are more than analytics and metrics in service to the latest automated solution?

Join Stanford Social Innovation Review for our 6th Data on Purpose conference, "Democracy, Civil Society, and Digital Technology." This year’s convening is designed to help nonprofit leaders and their teams (technical or not) identify and operationalize digital solutions to critical issues related to our democracy and civil society. With a focus on issues of equity, privacy & security, polarization, and the curtailing of misinformation, Data on Purpose will address the latest research- and practice-based insights from data scientists and researchers, nonprofit, foundation and for-profit leaders, policymakers, and other experts. Our goal is to help identify digital technologies that can strengthen our democracy and civil society, reduce inequities, improve the operation of nonprofit organizations, and empower the kind of informed, democratic participation which is a vital underpinning of civil society.
Participants in Data on Purpose 2021 will come away with:

• Knowledge of the tools and processes that can help organizations benefit from artificial intelligence and machine learning to reduce inequity and provide for their constituents, while avoiding the ethical and security concerns AI presents

• Insights into how nonprofit organizations, labor unions, and social movements are using digital technologies and platforms to organize and empower their constituencies

• A better understanding of the current state of the digital divide, the ways in which challenges can be overcome, and where we still need to focus our efforts, with a special focus on maintaining human connections with those we serve in a world dominated by data

• Examples of how digital technologies are being used to strengthen civil society institutions and the social connections between people

• Knowledge of ways to support digital democracy and combat the proliferation of misinformation and disinformation, weaponization of information, and hacking

shipwreckedcrew has a fantastic analogy of the Texas lawsuit and the need for SCOTUS to allow it to be heard

"Consider what the options would be for states aggrieved by the following facts:

States 1-20 are all governed by elected officials of Party X.

States 1-20 collectively represent 280 Electoral votes.

Elected officials in States 1-20 meet as a group.

As a group they agree to adopt election procedures that are intended and designed to insure that Party X continues to have control over the institutions of the state, including control of each state's election apparatus.
With control of the election apparatus they adopt rules and procedures that maximize the accumulation of votes favoring Party X such that they are certain each state's electoral votes will all be cast in favor of the Presidential Candidate of Party X, including acting in secret.

What legal options are available to States 21 to 50 to compel States 1-20 to conduct an election process that is fair and transparent where the ability of States 21 to 50 to have a meaningful say in the outcome of the nationwide election of POTUS and VP?

Are States 21 to 50 forced to endure such a predetermined state of affairs in perpetuity -- where the uncontested facts are that the outcome every four years is being engineered by Party X to the benefit of Party X?
If not, then the Supreme Court has a role to play in managing a dispute between states over the fairness of each state's execution of its Constitutional obligations to conduct elections for the two national offices in a fair and competent manner.

Are States whose electoral votes are cast for the nominally losing candidate in a national race powerless to contest the incompetent manner in which other states conduct their election in a national race?
This is the theory behind the suit filed by Texas.
States have an obligation to defend their conduct to other states where other states are aggrieved by their incompetence.

The argument for socialism is ironic and indicative of just how stupid even the smartest person is.
The argument is always the same; free markets are selfish and allow rich people to exploit poor people who are cheated out of their rightful due.
The success of the argument relies on human's basic greed and infantile belief somebody done took something from them. It also relies on either people's ignorance of how socialism actually works or magical thinking that it will be different this time.
The result is the very blockheads who most benefit from free markets, the vast middle get screwed by socialism into poverty. The poor always get the crumbs from whatever system and the rich always get theirs. So the suckers grasp for what isn't theirs and end up with less than they would have had plus they lose their political power and freedoms as well.
It's like the story of Jack and the Beanstalk but the socialist beans don't even sprout.

Regardless of the details, why would our govt. have kept the Chinese spy operation secret from the public? Shouldn't we be told, at least in general terms, that some of our public officials developed relationships with a Chinese spy who targeted them? The officials work for us.

A good question which has yet to be answered. It seems to me that classified information has become "anything embarrassing to an elected member of the Uniparty" and so we have no idea how much is being kept from us, how much money is being diverted to areas we don't support, how incompetent people are, etc.

One of the reasons I followed both Thomas Wictor (now on You Tube)) and his later incarnation as Carlos Osweda is that he is an expert in flamethrowers, which is what I think we need.

Why shouldn't we treat service providers of any sort as public utilities? Google, FB, Comcast, all travel over the same pole to pole service set up as electricity and all are being pushed as 'rights' insofar as access to them is deemed by the government to be subsidized if necessary for access by all.

Treating them as public utilities and as public/private partnerships should subject them to the first amendment the same as the government. If the government can subsidize them, they can abide by constitutional law on free speech.

henry

Stephanie, the problem is the Uniparty prefers censorship over the Constitution.

In a surprising move, the Pentagon has told the Central Intelligence Agency that it plans to end the majority of the military support it provides to the agency's counterterrorism missions by Jan. 5, according to a former senior administration intelligence official.

It is unclear how the decision would impact the spy agency's worldwide counterterrorism missions that often rely on the U.S. military for logistical support and personnel.

Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller sent a letter to CIA Director Gina Haspel outlining the decision, according to the former official, who characterized the action as both surprising and unprecedented.

As long s nursing homes come first, I don't have a problem with cons being vaccinated. Maybe I'm wrong but if we don't vaccinate the cons, how many honest law abiding citizens will have to wait for a hospital bed because cons are in them? Keep them locked up in jail and out of the public IMO.

And at the risk of offending some people out here that I respect greatly, every group whether in house or out, that put together programs to rehabilitate failed miserably. And they failed because the cons figured out a way to scam us and these programs for their advantage.

Pell Grants for example, The program also doled out some hefty benies if your college education continued upon your release. A check for first month's, last months and security deposit. Money for rent, food, clothing etc and every con I ever asked if they were planning on continuing their college education said hell no, I'm using that for drugs.

Don't forget the 1/2 day Good Time for attending. Makes me wonder how many really want help. And many are ordered by the court to attend. I guess they figure even if a few are helped it's worth the effort.

Give them computers (no internet) and they steal the internal fan motors to make tattoo guns, right in front of the idiot teacher with his nose buried in the Globe.
