Will he or won't he, and when? Trump promised to veto the defense bill but has until Dec 23 to do so. Congress will be home for the holidays but might come back before New Years. Or they might assemble the old Congress and the new one on Jan 3 and let the outgoers override the veto in the morning. Whether elderly retirees will agree to make the trip during a pandemic compounds the suspense.
Trump's rationales include Section 230 modifications to go after Facebook and Twitter and non-renaming of the military bases named for Confederate traitors generals. Some of those names were picked for new WWI bases under Lost Causer Woodrow Wilson. Others were named under FDR. In each case, promoting the US Army to martial Southern white boys was a marketing strategy that is now past the sell-by date. [Full disclosure - On this issue I channel the ghosts of my New England ancestors on this, some of whom died fighting for the Right Side.]
From Politico quoting Trump's tweet:
"I will Veto the Defense Bill, which will make China very unhappy. They love it," Trump tweeted. "Must have Section 230 termination, protect our National Monuments and allow for removal of military from far away, and very unappreciative, lands. Thank you!"
Still is in OR.

One of the reasons the North won is because it imported a huge amount of Germans, many who happened to be Marxists. Which infiltrated the government and academia and laid the groundwork for the importation and infiltration of more European and Asian Marxists and communists which now run the whole damn show.
So I ask you again,”DO YOU FEEL LIKE A WINNER?”

On my “boss ride” from the WI ANG refueling wing to Bragg (the back), the WI aircraft parked next to a C 5 on the apron at Pope Field. Plan was to refuel it as a training exercise on the return leg. Our pilot said refueling something that big was tricky... it had a huge bow wave of air he had to compensate for arriving and departing. Sadly, the C 5 got called off on a different mission. Would have been fun to observe the refueling from over the refueling airman’s shoulder. (They let us take pics of the WI ANG F16s they refueled on the way to Bragg).

There's an interesting little bit of a grammar post commenting that the English language isn't what it use to be (blamed partly on Journalism schools) at michelles mirror, plus some gorgeous flowers, and farther down a post on Assange and Snowden:
"The English Teacher Steps Out"
• An Oxford comma walks into a bar, where it spends the evening watching the television, getting drunk, and smoking cigars.
• A dangling participle walks into a bar. Enjoying a cocktail and chatting with the bartender, the evening passes pleasantly.
• A bar was walked into by the passive voice
http://www.michellesmirror.com/
Heroes and Villains:
Julian Assange. The left loved him when he was leaking stuff that made Bush look bad, but when he leaked stuff making Hillary look compromised be became a tool of Putin and Trump.
Did we have a right to know that our government was, as we suspected, spying on us? Yes. Snowden’s unwise, naïve, illegal…and dangerous method of revealing this information has made him a goat and a fugitive. Even so, knowing what I know now about the corruption enmeshed at every level of government, would I forgive him? Yeah, I just might.

My guess, without having watched the video(which I will), is that Trump’s constantly stating that he is a “wartime president” because of the massive undertaking of using the US Forces to martial against the “invisible enemy,” Miller is referring to that and thanking Pence for being the chosen leader on the battlefield.

I liked Never My Love by the Association.
Also really liked 10cc's I'm Not in Love. In fact, I loved it. :)
We watched a good documentary on HBO about the BeeGee's last week. I really enjoyed it. There was a lot of information about how they fell out of favor because of some real asshoe who started a "I Hate Disco" movement. Fans brought records to some baseball field and they set rockets off on the records or something strange. I'd never heard of this happening (I always kinda liked the energy of disco) because we lived in London then. Don't remember it being covered. But it shocked and hurt the BeeGee's career. After that they went to writing songs for other people. I didn't realize or had forgotten they wrote Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton's Islands In The Stream and several other songs by top singers like Barbara Streisand.
The way that disc jockey went after the BeeGee's reminded me of today -- the way woke people find some little thing that can be twisted and called racist or misogynist or something and destroy people. Really sick.
Made me sad and happy to watch the documentary. Barry looked so old, sad, and alone at the end -- but then they showed him singing at some revival or concert and he was right at home and happy.

Our son goes to Argentina a lot with his wife, and he's fallen in love with Malbec. It's good, but I wanted something pricy. Cause he's such a snob and thinks people here drink Old Wild Rose or something. :(
I use to love asti spumante. I can remember the first time I had a glass -- it was sort of like have a bit of liquid, sparkling plum in my mouth.
We use to be given so much booze and wine when my husband worked in Europe. The Italians, especially, gave us those kind of presents. One time my husband gave a talk in Wales for the Financial Times and the newspaper sent us a case of the loveliest wine. :) I went on that trip -- we took the train up there. My husband didn't like taking me on business trips for some reason. :( One time he had been to Germany and was going to end up in Paris. I flew there to meet him by myself and went to the hotel. I was so hungry so I ordered a sandwich and a Coke from room service at the hotel, and the waiter or whatever you call the guy who brings the meal to your room almost spit as he poured the Coke. :) I'm sure he thought "you heathen American."

Always liked Walk Away Renee.
I liked Never My Love by the Association.
Ditto. (Don’t tell anyone! 😬)
