Oh, yeah, Trump got on the horn with the GA Secretary of State to discuss revisions to the already certified GA vote totals.
Just another "perfect" phone call.

2. I bet it was fun.

Not Avalon hill, but Supremacy (sort of a cross between Diplomacy and Axis & Allies, but set at the height of the cold war, and with nuclear weapons rules) was a fun pastime back in college.
One aspect of the game was that if too many nuclear weapons were used, all players lost due to nuclear winter. Every single game I played ended that way, because someone who saw no other road to victory decided that if they couldn't win, nobody would, and blew up the world.
It will probably come as no surprise that that player was usually me.

Porch, yes. Ike retired to Gettysburg. Grandfather suggested a family vacation to tour that battlefield in 1970. Ike was close to my family, my uncle was his naval aide. My mom and younger brother ran into Maimie at a Howard Johnson’s in St Charles, and Maimie made the SS agents let mom and bro through as old friends.
We went to Pearl Harbor in 71. Stayed at my uncle’s Quarters on Ford Island (he was an admiral that was a pilot on the carriers in 41) . Met General Fielder and Admiral Christie... they enjoyed explains Tora Tora Tora and a John Wayne sub movie (where I asked about torpedoes designed by Christie not exploding on contact).

Saw him again much further away down on the Columbia at the dedication of McNary dam about 1956.

Jimmyk, Marshall sent my grandfather to London to sort out logistics (ammo stocks) pre DDay. Bedell Smith took my grandfather’s star for reporting the truth: the ammo was where it was supposed to be in the correct quantities. (Marshall fixed that, but Bedell Smith is the only fellow officer my grandfather uttered a discouraging word towards). On d-day plus one, my grandfather was appointed Normandy Base Section Command.
