I think it was just after the Wood-Powell presser that DJT announced those 2 were not representing him. Giuliani and Elias were.

Threadkiller

Not naive just a realist.

Realist:

Trump: “I hate Jeff Sessions’ guts! He betrayed me!!”

TomR: “Sun Tzu ass kicking in the wings! Trump will never reveal his hand until it is time to strike which none of us can claim knowledge of because we aren’t Trump, so don’t even try to understand the master!”

Later:

Trump: “It is essential that Georgians vote for the Republicans for Senate!” (But no mention of Wood)

TomR: “Clearly we must analyze not only what Trump says but what he doesn’t say! And it must be done in the most negative fashion!!”

You are a stain on intelligent debate Tom.

“Z was looking for a person who doesn't exist.”

Could be. I think the response would be something like “Trump shouldn’t have promised what he couldn’t/wouldn’t deliver”.

Remember “lock her up”?

matt - deplore me if you must

Success has many fathers. Failure is an orphan.

Let's focus on the road ahead, not on the past.

A lot of people tried to do a lot of things that didn't work or simply muddied the waters enough so that the sludge monsters of the media could tell tall tales.

The game was rigged. We all know that. The Democrats are world masters at it. Let's focus on open, honest and transparent election procedures that can't be hijacked by crooked politicians or judges.

Venceremos!!!

US will not lift Covid-19 travel bans despite Trump statement, Biden team says

Interesting juxtaposition. Muslim travel ban bad, Covid travel ban good. Xiden*, on day one will lift one ban and re-impose the other.

Tom R

Looks like TK is having self esteem issues again.

Whoever wrote the tweet AB copy/pasted clearly thinks the Democrats used Lin Wood as an operative to sabotage Trump’s efforts against election fraud and hurt the GOP candidates in the runoff. OK if that is true then it is completely mind boggling that neither Trump nor anyone in his inner circle of close advisors never figured out that Wood was really trying to screw him over.

joan

Okay, AB, thanks. it just pissed me off for a little while.

Perfidy is such a damning word. Surprised me. Also, that was one thing, over and over, I heard 'Trump's lies' from the left. They never were specific. It just branded him and I hated it.compared to what the media and the left did every day for over four years, the lies we were assaulted with, make Trump sterling.

Threadkiller

Nobody ever wrote that Sessions was sabotaging Trump, right?

Narciso

Perfidy are the rows of barbed wire, from strzok and co upwards and those like durham unwilling to snip them.

Porchlight

I think a summary of his view is that while Trump did us some services (chiefly in revealing the corruption), despite big promises he did little to change it, and delivered mostly bread and circuses.

If those are his views, that's frankly retarded.

Count me out of the "Trump should have done this or that" discussion.

Threadkiller

You are moments away from all your 4D Razzle-dazzle coming to a screeching halt, Tom. Maybe there will be a Hail Mary that you could claim is what you were pimping all along, but absent that it is killing you that you yourself were deceived.

You selfish reaction is to blame Trump.

I really don’t care if you take credit for an unrelated successful Hail Mary if ultimately the country wins, but you care deeply about how wrong you have been. So much so that you won’t take ownership of your Lin Wooding of this blog.

Porchlight

Also, the GA Senate runoff races were stolen and were going to be stolen no matter what anyone did. The fact that the candidates sucked certainly didn't help. Anyone who thinks otherwise - talk about naive.

Narciso

But we see the outline of this global corporate syzgy, state private nexus in a host of countries that typify the uniparty.

Captain Hate

I don't think any of us realized how corrupt the entire DOJ was. Trump did his best to deliver on more promises, with no help from his party, than any prior President I can remember, including Reagan.

joan

Me, too, Porch.

Much later, if ever, honest historians might analyze Trump's presidency and of course see decisions made that could have been different, however, President Trump had perverted, vindictive lies and psychological torture inflicted on him every day during his time in office. Most people would have been driven mad.

Not much argument from me on that count.

But could more have been done about the rogue DOJ and IC? We’ll never know.

Narciso

Session fell for 'the banana in the tail pipe'and refused to retract. Undermining the cause he said he cared about. Whitaker tried to do something but the toga bearers said nee. And you saw he was buried of barr the less said the better.

Porchlight

There are fair criticisms of his performance in office though, no?

Maybe so, but your description of Z's views didn't include any.

More importantly, I'm not going to gainsay the man in the arena, to borrow a slightly hackneyed description. Trump is a giant and I'm not wasting my time with ankle-biting.

Porchlight

Gotta understand some past to improve future performance.

Nobody will improve on Trump's performance. Quite the opposite.

Tom R

Nobody ever wrote that Sessions was sabotaging Trump, right?

Sure several people here said that. It was an opinion without any legit evidence to back it up. Sessions was the biggest advocate of the MAGA agenda in the Senate long before Trump announced his candidacy. Sessions was a major success at advancing the MAGA agenda his two years as AG. Mueller ended up exonerating Trump of the Russian collusion allegations so I don't see how anyone can make the logical argument Sessions' recusal was his attempt to sabotage Trump.

Narciso

That is the difference between our putative side and theirs, they are eager to murder the Republic we cant get but a handful to stand up for it. And dont tell me this stupid delta house stunt made the difference.

but absent that it is killing you that you yourself were deceived.

If it makes you feel better about yourself to believe I am in some sort of denial because my speculation turned out to be wrong then go for it. I've got 70+ million other Trump supporters who believed Trump was going to be able to drain the Swamp and bring the Obama criminal cabal to justice among other things. If you want to ridicule me for believing that Trump had a grand plan to pull it all off then it says more about your character than it does mine.

Looking back critically is always worthwhile but there's never been a Presidency that was so viciously under attack since day 1 as Trump's was. Frankly I was surprised he was able to stay as optimistic as he was. Maybe he still is because the media has completely blacked him out.

There's still a day of reckoning due for the last four years. Maybe that's why the fake winners are still acting like losers.

Threadkiller

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

I am not coattailing TK's comments but am expressing my own Tom;
You sound a little like Donald Trump asked you to the prom and then left you waiting in your living room in your gown and corsage.
And that's partly that binary thing going on again.
Maybe Trump, a flawed and imperfect person as all of us are, did things imperfectly and did many things on the fly as events forced him to, and maybe the forces arrayed against him were stronger than he anticipated or simply stronger than he could fight. And so, though he tried his best he didn't accomplish as much as we or even more so, he, wanted.

Tom R

I don't think any of us realized how corrupt the entire DOJ was.

Correct as well as your second sentence too. When Barr replaced Sessions there was much rejoicing here. I will freely admit I believed AG Barr, based off his numerous public comments critical of those who committed FISA abuse, was serious about bringing them to justice. We all know how that turned out. In the end did Barr ever accomplish anything that advanced the MAGA agenda? The only thing I can think of was the continued crackdown on global money laundering that started under Sessions.

Narciso

Canadian menace i coined it when they complained the seven sisters couldnt make a deal with the huntress.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

But how much more could he have without the GOPe albatross around his neck and the Dems and MSM and the bureaucracy making common cause with the CCP to defeat him?

Captain Hate

Mueller ended up exonerating Trump of the Russian collusion allegations

Mueller was a sad shell of a man who should have issued a one sentence statement that there was no evidence of Russian collusion instead of a roadmap for impeachment. The entire fiasco was a giant waste of time and a distraction from the MAGA agenda. And nothing good came out of it.

Captain Hate

Through time I came to agree with Porchlight that Sessions had to recuse, although being the target of a bogus investigation is its own ethical conundrum. Once Epstein was murdered the bloom was off the rose with Barr; that was inexcusable.

Iggy,

Read AB's 9:37 again. Do you think whoever wrote that was making the point Lin Wood was a Democrat operative who pretended to be helping Trump but was actually intentionally fucking over Trump and the two Senate candidates with his hellfire and brimstone rhetoric? That's how I read it.

If whoever wrote that is correct about Lin Wood being a Democrat operative, then who should be held accountable for allowing him to pass himself off as a Trump supporter and get away with spewing out all the batshit crazy rhetoric that helped lead to the defeat of the two GOP Senate candidates?

Melinda

AB is consistent with his “concerns”. Just like Ellie Light.

Tom R

I think Sessions should have gone the step further and resigned immediately.

Sessions gave Trump his resignation letter after Mueller was appointed SC and Trump refused to accept it. I thought that was common knowledge by now.

Narciso

I think thats an unfair read. So what did we get from brian kemp besides keeping the shadow governor out of augusta.

Narciso

--If whoever wrote that is correct about Lin Wood being a Democrat operative, then who should be held accountable for allowing him to pass himself off as a Trump supporter and get away with spewing out all the batshit crazy rhetoric that helped lead to the defeat of the two GOP Senate candidates?--

I do not believe whoever wrote that is correct. I believe Wood is a freelancing, weird, incompetent, glory hound whose main talent is inserting himself into areas he should be allowed nowhere near.
Sidney Powell is not as bad but she shares some of his traits and her Biblically proportioned kraken was about the size and ferocity of a particularly puny and diffident sea monkey.
The blame for their presence can mainly be assigned to themselves and the MSM who were only too happy to have them on screen.

Haha! I had to check to refresh my memory. Sessions offered to resign not at the beginning of his sabotage but mid stream after Mueller was appointed. He knew that everything was so volatile at that point there was no way Trump could toss his sorry ass.

brought over from the previous thread:

@AdamHousley
1/2 California EDD fraud that’s at least 10 Billion..is going to be a huge issue and bomb once the 1099-G get issued. A ton of legitimate working people around America are going to be taxed $20,000 to $50,000 dollars in unemployment benefits that they did not collect due to fraud

2/2 In some cases this will place them in higher tax brackets and owe thousands of dollars in tax bills. The theft is so blatant. Do you you think the IRS is going to be able sort this out? I bet they can’t. How can they know who’s PII was stolen and whose wasn’t.

Living in the great shithole of Illinois, I do have to give credit where credit is due -- the Illinois Department of Employment Security is pretty competent.

Both DrF and his mom had fraudulent UI claims filed with their social security numbers. Hubby's employee knew immediately and IDES shut down the claim without paying anything out. My MIL moved here after being retired for years and has never worked in Illinois, and so her UI finding announced that she was getting paid "$0.00". It took a month for the fraud investigators to slog through the backlog of phone calls and get to us, but they had gotten everything shut down right away so the phone call was merely a formality. They sent multiple letters telling us that we might get further computer-generated letters telling us that we were eligible, but just to ignore them.

So California is not as competent as Illinois? Whodathunkit?

Melinda

Whodadesignedtheskim?

Melinda

G’night all! Gonna be a blast!

Tom R

Iggy @ 12:02

That might very well be their point. It isn't mine, so I don't care.

Well my response that prompted you to compare me to a girl jilted on prom night was directly in response to that point that Wood was a Democrat operative. Once again a binary choice. Wood was either a Democrat operative or he wasn't. Wood was either trying to screw Trump and the GOP over or he was genuinely trying to help Trump and the GOP.

You at least agreed with me on one point. Wood inserted himself into an area he should never have been allowed to be near. I chose to go with "the buck stops here" approach to assess who is responsible for allowing that to happen.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

Great portions of CA are not as competent as Burkina Faso.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

The power of even a president to stop a weird, incompetent glory hound from filing lawsuits on his own and preventing his access to the press is pretty limited.

And now I'm really going to bed.

Porchlight

Bingo, Iggy.

Lin Wood and Sidney Powell are both talented attorneys with successful records. Who knows what went wrong there, but Trump didn't have many options anyway.

Given that it was hopeless from the beginning thanks to Deep State and Deep Court, I'm not so sure it wasn't a bad idea to get as many eyeballs on the election issues as possible and glory hounds (or however you want to describe them) that the MSM loves to showcase are a good way to do that. Now much more of the world knows about the fraud. Wood and Powell allowed Trump to claim some distance and still advance that ball.

Porchlight

Well, not bingo on the "incompetent" part.

Narciso

Bill lerach for the win.

https://www.breitbart.com/asia/2021/01/18/china-coronavirus-surge-leaves-11-regions-lockdown/

"The Chinese government on January 16 claimed to finish construction on a 1,500-room hospital in Nangong, located south of Beijing. The hospital, the Communist Party alleged, was reportedly built in five days and is one of six hospitals being constructed in Nangong. The combined facilities will create 6,500 rooms in the city for coronavirus patients. Roughly 650 people are currently being treated for the Chinese coronavirus in Nangong and Shijiazhuang, according to Xinhua on Saturday. The federal government is currently overseeing the construction of a 3,000-room hospital in Shijiazhuang."

https://learningenglish.voanews.com/a/china-restricts-travel-for-lunar-new-year-to-control-covid-19-spread/5736291.html

"Shijiazhuang ordered its roughly 10 million people to take a second round of tests for the virus. The officials want to isolate the sources of infection, some of which may be coming from wedding gatherings. Testing rates are at 12.55 million people each day, or 10 times the level last March."

I don't trust their statistics. Or their stories of the new infections coming from foreigners or frozen goods.

I find it hard to believe that they have had a New Zealand like suppression of the virus. Yes, China can do LOCKDOWNS like nobody else, but with the way they censor I'm sure they can hide a lot of what is really happening when the cases are low enough to evade attention.

And if they are that successful at suppressing the virus now they are vulnerable to a faster spreading variant coming back home.

jim nj

I'm reading that China keeps a separate tally of asymptomatic cases. I guess that means if you test positive they don't count you officially as a case until they have thrown you into detention and your case worsens.

Could be why they are building so many new hospitals and doing so much testing. The state has unlimited power over there. Take this test and sit there while we figure out what to do to you. That process wouldn't work well here.

So last year Covid broke out around their Lunar New Year travel period and they dodged a bullet, we think. It's that time of year again when 100 million people, or more, want to travel at the same time.

10 or 11 days ago the Chinese media started reporting on efforts to discourage that travel. Was that a generalized caution, or had they noticed something? Bing says the Lunar New Year is on Feb. 12 this year. This could get interesting.

Or maybe I just want it to get interesting.

matt - deplore me if you must

I was told by Taiwanese colleagues that Lunar New Year begins on the 9th this year. Hundreds of millions of Chinese are going to be on the move and it will be very difficult for the commissars to stop the cars, jitneys and buses. The trains not as much.

However, there will be tremendous resentment, as this is the only time of year that many parents see their children and families.

Remember the photos of stacks of bodies and 24/7 cremations in Wuhan. Then the bug magically disappeared.

I wouldn't want to enter any building built in 5 days. It takes a lot longer than that just to put in the HVAC and heating, and North China is as cold as a banker's heart in winter.

My husband woke me on the morning of Jan 6 by saying "they doubled down, they stole the Georgia election too". What a horrible way to wake up.

The timeline for the Irish War of Independence is interesting. In 1914 the Brits put any kind of legislative and fiscal autonomy on hold because of the first world war so Irish nationalists started cooking up more revolutionary plans. The Easter Rising was meant to be a publicity stunt and in that regard it worked very well. The destruction the Brits wrought and the fifteen executions played into the revolutionaries' hands.

Michael Collins was a pasty-faced civil servant who got a head of steam because of the executions. He became a brilliant networker from prison days in Frongoch right through to working productively with his new friends, Winston Churchill and Lord Birkenhead. All told it took from 1914 to 1922 to obtain any kind of change and that's what we're looking at here. I figure we're at the Christmas 1916 stage.

"The best part of Dementiafest 2021 is that it will be a sullen, sad affair installing the manifestly senile old pervert at the head of the ricketiest administration in memory while surrounded by at least two divisions of soldiers lest a gigantic army of dudes in Viking drag decide to show up."

"The impeachment that moved faster than Brian Stelter...toward a chocolate doughnut will land with a thud in the Senate and then die there. I doubt there will even be a trial, not just because you can’t impeach someone who is no longer in the job you are impeaching him from but because a trial allows a discussion of contrary evidence, and the narrative can’t take that."
