The Times uses the phrase "cover-up" in their web hed on the latest in the Cuomo cover-up.
I guess they ran out of space on the front page, however, where the story was placed below the fold:
"Cuomo Faces New Scrutiny Of Death Data"
Whatever. Their long journey back to reality may have begun. And we'll see if "Granny died and we lied because Trump" really cuts it as an excuse.

Just like the story about Melania being bitter and spending all day at the spa was untrue, they are throwing up everything to get something to stick and tarnish Trump's reputation.

The dems have gotten themselves in a real mess. If they get their wish, the trial will go on for months and Biden is pissed. (someone told him to be) all his “important” communist issues will have to be tabled. If the dems call the bitch who reported on McCarthy, which reportedly McCarthy has denied - and he voted not to impeach - then our side will call 100 witnesses.
This is all a result of utter incompetence. Leahy is a joke. Raskin is a clown.

Jane, Newsome is about to be recalled. Cuomo needs a periscope to see out of the manure pit he jumped in, schools aren’t reopening, Xiden declared another year of masks... he and the uniparty masters need an ongoing distraction. Xiden being upset is just faux WWE with cheesier writing. The commification goes on via eager bureaucrats. No need for Congress.

You might be right - but I think the dems are too stupid to realize all that. I’m telling you they are the dumbest group of people I’ve encountered in a long time. The irony of the NYT claiming “cover up”: the story was known since May, but covered with a pillow by the MSM so that Cuomo could get away with blaming Trump. Now that Trump is gone, Cuomo is superfluous.

A far cry from saying the charges are false and absurd, and the trial a kangaroo court.
Posted by: jimmyk | February 13, 2021 at 12:19 PM
jimmyk,
Exactly. That's why I think he realized it was political suicide. He might be able to keep his seat until 2024, but he will never win against a decent Trump-supporter in a primary.
I firmly believe he has kept his position by strong-arming and blackmailing people, with a healthy dose of bribes. With new Republicans in the Senate, there is no way he would be elected majority/minority leader again should he vote to convict.
His distaste for Trump, however, plus pressure from lobbyists and foreign contacts, no doubt resulted in this mealy-mouth announcement of his position.

Raskin is making a fool of himself.
Posted by: Jane | February 13, 2021 at 03:30 PM
This case turns on the Humpty Dumpty Doctrine:
in 1872, Lewis Carroll skewered its slipperiness in Through the Looking Glass. Humpty Dumpty had the audacity to claim, “When I use a word it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.”
Alice cut him down. “The question is whether you can make words mean so many different things.”
Carroll’s readers laughed at the false claim to power Dumpty tried, “The question is which is to be master — that’s all.” Strangely, since the 1960s, postmodernism jumped out of philosophy and literature like a virus jumping species, to infect politicians, educationists, community organizers, pontificators and journalists.
Postmodernism struggles after power by squabbling over interpretations. This narrative over that. But if the ethical framework one advocates doesn’t value honesty, there certainly is nothing in it for anyone. Their myths are incomplete. Dishonest. You can’t contrive a story that ends up less reasonable than what you criticize.
