Jane

Amom,

She’s80+ which is no excuse, but like my mother believes every thing thr fake news tells her. I told my mother about Hunter, months ago and she siad “if it’s true, The NY Times will tell her”.

I guess we have to wait for that generation to die off.

Jim Eagle

Looks like the Trump speech is delayed at CPAC.

Jane

Just had Maine lobster. It doesn’t get any better!

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

--"We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm."

– Winston Churchill--

Not only did Winston Churchill not say that, George Orwell and Rudyard Kipling didn't either.
The late great Richard Grenier said it as a paraphrase of, I think, Orwell.

The rest of that comment was spot on the money.

Jim Eagle

Yummy, Jane. We have Lobster night coming up at the club.

Tonight is Burger night with onion rings and salad. Oh, and wine?

Marlene

Jane! Where did you get the lobstah? I know of a place in Englewood (Twins). There is a place in Venice (Burgundy Square) that has Maine lobster rolls. Sadly the owner passed away last year and his sons took over. They are also running a food truck that is a local sensation.

anonamom

Where are you watching? RSBN seems to think I want to them chatter endlessly
I would LOVE to hear Jim Jordan!

Pinandpuller

“Bubba Wallace is in Car #20?”

“Positionally, yes.”

Jim Eagle

I just C&P a comment from a Naval Academy graduate. Looks like they need to revamp there curriculum.

henry

Anyone thinking work from home will outlast the Kung Flu tyranny?

@WSJ

Repetitive virtual meetings have sapped morale, so companies are hiring four-legged guests—sheep, tortoises, llamas and more—to paint smiles back on the faces of jaded employees

Porchlight

Jim Jordan ended just after I commented, anonamom. Watching RSBN. Trump soon. Of course he's late, I don't care, I'm enjoying the show. RSBN only talks when no one else is on stage.

anonamom

No, they didn't cover the panel of the black peeps. They were outside hoping to get Trump's arrival.

anonamom

I WANT TRUMP! I WANT TRUMP!
I WANT TRUMP!!!!

Jim Eagle

Over an hour delay for Trump speech.

Porchlight

Okay, that was before I tuned in.

I'm never ever going to dump on RSBN for anything, considering their contribution to getting Trump elected.

I can't even imagine complaining about a delay either.

Jane

Marlene,

We get it at the fish store. Fresh and very alive!

cathyf

Evidently Trump's speech is 3:30 Central time not Eastern time, LOL.

Now how silly are you expecting Trump to be on time?

(That is another weird data point of January 6th. Trump was scheduled to talk at noon and started talking at noon sharp! Was that just a weird coincidence, or is there some other significance?)

(The CPAC coverage is kind of like the Olympics coverage. The last time I actually watched much of the Olympics was one night when ABC had a whole evening of interviews and heartwarming stories about athletes. Including an excruciating interview with airhead Melanie Griffith that probably wasn't the hours and hours it seemed like. As far as I can tell there was one 2-1/2 minute event showed the whole night.)

Jane

Marlene, I didn’t pay for it bor I think it’s pretty expensive these days!

Marlene

Jane, the shipping costs are probably really high.

MissMarple2

I have both c-SPAN and RSBN tabs open and am switching back and forth to check. Right now C-SPAN is replaying the pollsters for the straw poll they did earlier.

That group of black panelists was on yesterday, I think. I know I saw it. (That's what RSBN is playig.)

I wonder if there are protesters causing problems outside. There were some earlier who got into it with an older guy whose parents had fled Cuba. They had the "F..K Trump" signs and really had pissed that guy off.

Pinandpuller

According to mystery writers, Art Dealer is in the top five most dangerous professions.

Jim Eagle

Not complaining. Just stating a fact. Tough crowd here:)

Jim Eagle

CathyF,

Since when is Orlando central time?

Jane

Marlene,

Our local fish store always has fresh lobster. I’ll take you there sometime if you want.

cathyf

Just being silly, JiB -- I was so proud of myself that when I saw "Trump speaks at 3:30" I remembered to account for the time zone. I coulda tuned in at 3:30 my time!

(When WonderBoy got married they livestreamed the wedding. Several of our friends missed it because they forgot that South Bend is EST.)

Jane

Here comes Trump - on Fox.

cathyf

16:46 EST :-)

matt - deplore me if you must

Fauci was apparently on TV this morning. We're at a pretty sad place when they have to gin up competition between the vaccines.

Lobster prices ar the dock are way down because they have been having record harvests for the past couple of years from my understanding. But it seems that any food ar retail/take out has gotten ridiculously expensive.

I had my traditional McFishwich lunch, which I do once per year the other day and it was $10!!

Jane, I think it may be a safer bet that The NY Times dies off. Saw somewhere there was an article on how Bezos and his lackey re-shaped the WaPo. O just had to laugh. All of these supposedly smart people falling for the same line of bullshit every day.

The Israelis are in Dubai checking on their ship. There was another attack in the area the other day as well. With Biden sucking up to Iran and the Iranians reckless attacks I don't think the Gulf Arabs and Israelis are going to stand still this time.

anonamom

Well, I never cried when I heard those lyrics before...

Jane

God I love this guy!

Jane

Oh Matt they will prop them up as long as possible. And the moron democrats will believe it.

Sidwhite

I’m with Anonamom and teared up with a lump on my throat. Bear lyrics ever penned.

Thomas Collins

Although this is not the formal beginning of the Trump 2024 campaign, in substance it is. Trump wants to be POTUS again. I remember Porchlight a few years ago going through Trump's various policy statements over the years to show that Trump has focused on the issues on which he campaigned in 2016 for a long time, and his running for POTUS was not simply to help his brand. Well, Trump still has that fire. This speech is not simply a matter of wanting to be a kingmaker. He's going to try to Grover Cleveland it (although even if he runs in 2024 and wins, it won't exactly be a Grover Cleveland, because it won't be against Biden).

Trump mentioned that the coyotes are in business again. I'm sure Andrea Mitchell and Brian Stelter and the usual suspects are triggered!

jimmyk

“Most of the quotations attributed to me are not by me.”

—Winston Churchill

Jim Eagle

Who? What are you guy's watching?

Jim Eagle

Had to refresh!

Bela1

Hello cathyf,
You’re 2:53PM (previous page) is spot on!
Take care

Bela1

Your

Bela1

Go Trump Go!!! 😁

Davod

MM2. Re clothes line. There are some places where the owners' association will not allow clothes lines.

anonamom

He sounds--subdued.
Not exactly drugged--but lacking the fire in the belly.

Oh, maybe he's just warming up---

Jane

Jimmy,

We are watching Trump

Narciso

He sounds right on the mark.

anonamom

OK!
He WAS warming up.
I guess delivering prepared remarks.
Never his strength...

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

I guess everyone is watching the speech?

Pinandpuller

Kolchak: The Night Stalker, “The Werewolf” 1974:

“The Asian flu had decimated our staff, but the party had accomplished its end.”

People have been misusing ‘decimated’ for a long time.

MissMarple2

What a great speech!

Yes, was watching!

MissMarple2

Former President Trump arrived at @CPAC (more than 45 minutes late) and supporters greeted him along the route in Orlando. pic.twitter.com/TtKctoKgFj

— Kelly O'Donnell (@KellyO) February 28, 2021

Video at the link. Kelly needs to quit complaining. Nice video, though.

henry

Trump speech? No. Etta James CD, now Temptations CD.

Jane

Love that man!

Narciso

Some of it

Jim Eagle

He is not shy like W was with Obama. P.robably the best strategy is to sit back and tell Joe how screwed he is. I love it

Momto2

I loved the speech! It was great to hear him call out those wimpy Republicans by name!

Jane

Doesn’t matter what he says - I still love him! (I would be the perfect communist)

MissMarple2

Another video of the crowds along the street in Orlando. I think Dan Scavino shot this one from inside one of the SUV's.

He’s pulling up America! pic.twitter.com/6LrPrsdg8u

Jim Eagle

Can we have those same vidieos of Bide driving don Dover Delaware. Talk about a fraud.

Sidwhite

You can tell he’s put time and thought on the direction of the country. Hit all the bases on where the GOP must go. Loved his proposals on election integrity though I personally love being able to vote at the local supermarket down the street a few days prior to the election but I will gladly go to poll on Election Day in trade for all the other voting integrity items.

Porchlight

That was fun watching Trump. How about the end when he teased his 2024 campaign?

Shot in the arm for sure!

Porchlight

MM, I think that Scavino tweet in your 7:19 is not from today. It's from Feb 15 when he was returning to Mar-a-Lago from a day on the golf course.

More remarkable for that, if you think about it - this is just Trump going to play golf on a Monday and people line the roads for him. Orlando must have been ten times that.

MissMarple2

Porchlight,

Thanks. I didn't mean to mislead anyone.

I am so grateful I got to go to one of his rallies with my teacher sister. More than anything, besides seeing him, we wanted to see who the supporters were, and discovered a bunch of people just like us!

CCGirl

I loved when he said something like, “Was that controversial to say? Just wait until I really get going.”

A nice boost to hear him again. Hubs had fox on prior, and I could hear Karl Rove and his ilk going on. 🤯

MissMarple2

https://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/2021/03/coke-goes-woke-and-broke-daniel-greenfield/

I am truly shocked that none of the CEO's are American!

We used to have a local Coca Cola bottling plant here (back when coke came in the small glass bottles). I got to go on a field trip through it with my Bluebird troop, back in the 50's.

bubarooni

MM, Washington, IN had a local Coca Cola bottler when I grew up there in the '60's and '70's.

It was right next the Krispy cracker plant.

Both are long gone but, I did love me some Coca Cola and Krispy crackers together as a kid.

Both were as fresh as could be and were quite the combo.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

Not sure what to do about this conundrum;
A free market means people should be able to keep the fruits of their labors.
When those fruits become multiples of a billion or more people lose their damned minds and turn into worthless punk busybodies trying to fix their fellow man and their billions mean they have the means to make major nuisances of themselves.
Not sure what the solution is.
A massive inheritance tax is one method but has its own problems. Who would the proceeds go to? Society might be better off if the massive inheritance tax proceeds was used as a bonfire rather than being distributed to anyone.
My favorite solution would be that if any billionaire either directly or indirectly spent any money on anything besides giant yachts or jets or cars, either directly or indirectly, he would be subject to an open hunting season and whoever bags him gets his dough, subject to the same restrictions.
Any better ideas? Somethins gotta be done because I'm not sure we can survive any more of these damned do-gooders like Gates or Bezos or Bloomberg or ::spit:: Soros.

bubarooni

"When those fruits become multiples of a billion or more people lose their damned minds and turn into worthless punk busybodies trying to fix their fellow man and their billions mean they have the means to make major nuisances of themselves."

Think of all the foundations (like Ford) that started out sane and have suffered 'capture' from the left.

My bro spent a stint with the Pew Charitable Foundation in the '90's. It was endowed by the peeps who started the Sun Oil Co. and by the time he worked for them were anti-oil.

Foundations seem to be where people with worthless degrees in humanities type fields go where there is no penalty for being stupid.

A perfect environment to warehouse worthless progs.

I think every one should have half their endowments confiscated 'for the people. I'm sure the gov would waste the money but only half as many peeps could then be warehoused.

I think university foundations could use a 66% haircut.

We should do it for the children of course.

Jane

My fabulous Governor was just on Levin. Watch him if you can!

jim nj

Is part of the internet down? It sure seems squirelly to me.
