John F'ing Kerry flew commercial??? Will wonders never cease??? Was he not wearing two masks or three?
I do believe we should recommend that all Karens instead of masking be recommended to stay in bed and push a pillow into their faces to avoid infection. That should help reduce the infection rate while reducing the number of oxygen thieves.
Hubby just got a call from our former neighbor in Maine. After we moved from northern Maine, we bought a condo in the Bangor area. Remember the Trump visit to the apple orchard last fall? The small (ten unit) condo property was down the road from the orchard. We moved to the cabin in the woods when we started to come to Florida in the winter. Anyway,he had mail addressed to us (five years later!) and wanted to know if he should forward it. He told hubby, you have an awesome governor!
Last Saturday morning when we were at the farmer's market at the French bakery vendor, a young couple was in the line in front of us. Hubby elbowed me and said they're social distancing. Meanwhile, the geezers were shoving people out of the way to get in line. :)
Believe me, there are people in Florida who are biking and walking in the breezy fresh air and wearing masks. Sad.

MT's comment last thread is along the lines of something I was thinking about this morning. Intelligence doesn't seem to have any particular correlation to wisdom or common sense. I'm not sure you might not be able to detect a slight negative correlation.
As a case in point and what I was thinking about this morning is my friend who passed away about a year and a half ago. Good ol boy from Jefferson City Missouri but with a PhD in physics and the smartest guy I ever met. Was worth $90 million+ at the peak of the dot.com boom in 2000.
But he also had Type 1 diabetes and it was, as they call it, "brittle" which means he was prone to rapid hypoglycemic episodes in which he could quickly end up out like a light. His wife had to keep a close eye on him overnight because the span of time between eating could cause an episode and the paramedics knew him by his first name.
The most thoughtful, loving guy you could ever hope to meet. But he was so infernally stubborn, he absolutely refused to get an insulin pump which would have militated all of those problems. He would probably still be alive today had he done so because almost certainly those frequent episodes and the wild swings in his insulin and blood sugar damaged his systems and heart to the point he dropped dead of a heart attack.
His actions made zero sense and there are thousands if not millions of lamebrains walking around with insulin pumps, but brilliant Bob lies moldering in his grave because he wouldn't. Inexplicable.

MA is loaded with experts in their field. The expert doctors are such experts that they can’t opine on whether a condition not in their field may be an issue on something in their field. Son saw many docs when young, and one admitted that “we are such experts in our area we don’t know anything about other conditions.” She was the nicest doctor I have ever met. Son and I agree to this day on that.

Catsmeat, I come from the “least-Irish” Irish fam - in terms of attitude. On my mother’s side we have Walsh, Flynn, and Rourke. On my father’s side there is a bit as well, but I don’t feel like digging through the ancestral records that are stuck in a box in my basement (saved by me to read someday). I simply didn’t grow up “knowing” I was Irish, except the few times my mother told me that “No Irish Need Apply” happened. Whatever, that is in the past, and my life is good. And my mother certainly never considered herself a victim. I suspect she was just giving me a history lesson.

That is a fascinating story! I don't get full access to a Bloomberg story when I link from Twitter, so missed that story.
I must say, however, that with a lawsuit in play, the government needing the swabs as a national emergency, willing to invest through the Defense Production Act, and the knowledge that we had few swabs, I don't think it was unreasonable for the President to downplay this while negotiations were on-going.

Good Morning! Jack, interesting article about the Puritan Company. I remember hubby telling me that the company was in the middle of a family feud. The article mentions that it is the anchor business in the small town and that is the story of many Maine small towns. Puritan just happened to become famous. They used to known for making wooden tongue depressors and toothpicks and popsicle sticks.
No. Of course, the democrats on Twitter leaped to his defense and blamed Trump, "since a company doesn't move a plant like that in a couple of months."
Now that we know how corporations view labor and profits, and how many big corporations wanted Trump to lose so they could get back to business as usual, I imagine they looked at the polls and got info from people like Zuckerberg and decided to plan to move.
Bongino is very good at explaining how things operate, especially in law enforcement and certain machinations within the GOP. He also is very good at ranting about the progressives and Rinos.

Congressman Adam Kinzinger, a proud ‘Never Trumper,’ is in the middle of a massive scandal.
Today’s ‘Daily Intel Brief’ brings the story of Kinzinger, who requested nude photos from a young Russian beauty queen who had applied to work for him as an intern in his office. This story was broken by Patrick Howley, senior reporter at NationalFile.com, who joined Stew Peters on Patriotically Correct. Be sure to watch the second interview below with James Marter, who is running to take Kinzinger’s seat. Watch the interview with Patrick Howley:

@CBSMireya is on the border tonight for the @CBSEveningNews.

Note the date. This must be why they clamped down on reporting from the border.

Saw a rumor that Dan Bongino will take over for Rush. Not confirmed.
He would be pretty good. I have listened to his noon podcast for quite some time. Yesterday he thought Trump should announce right after the primaries and go ahead and name his VP candidate then. He thought DeSantis would be good, and with twice as many guys campaigning, it would drive the democrats nuts because they couldn't keep up. LOL!

Jack,
That is a fascinating story!

They used to known for making wooden tongue depressors and toothpicks and popsicle sticks.

henry,

Hunh, another inconvenient data point:
Rasmussen Reports
@Rasmussen_Poll
"Do laws requiring photo identification at the polls discriminate against some voters?"
1000 National Likely Voters - No/Yes%
Democrats - 37/51%
Unaffiliated - 67/21%
Republicans - 79/17%
All Voters - 60/31%

Melinda,
Oh, good! I saw a rumor but had no confirmation.
Bongino is very good at explaining how things operate, especially in law enforcement and certain machinations within the GOP. He also is very good at ranting about the progressives and Rinos.
Posted by: MissMarple2 | March 18, 2021 at 08:17 AM
Miss M, it’s been 5 months since the election. Plenty of time to move a plant.
Posted by: henry | March 18, 2021 at 08:18 AM
henry,
I thought so, too. However, I don't know enough about what it entails so was crediting Ford with contingency planning over the summer.

Zap, bye Adam!
