This pre-fight weigh-in had the usual theatrics:
First U.S.-China meeting under Biden gets off to a rocky start
-
- The first high-level gathering of U.S. and Chinese officials under President Joe Biden kicked off with an exchange of insults at a pre-meeting press event Thursday, according to NBC News.
- The two-day talks are set to conclude Friday.
- A planned four-minute photo session for the officials to address reporters ended up lasting one hour and 15 minutes due to a frothy exchange, according to NBC News

Any potential progress in causing Red China to have more respect for international norms is gone now that the airy therapeutic we are the world internationalists have taken over from Trump, whose bilateral and sometimes trilateral and quadrilateral internationalism is a superior approach. Blinken may talk some talk, and probably is about the most qualified of the possible Biden Secretary of State candidates to deal with Xi. That's not saying much.

https://richieallen.co.uk/norwegian-prof-astrazeneca-jab-is-causing-deadly-blood-clots/
Professor Pål Andre Holme told Norwegian national newspaper VG today, that the AstraZeneca vaccine caused serious blood clots in three Norwegian health workers.
Holme led the investigation into why the workers (all under 50) were hospitalized with serious blood clots and low levels of blood platelets after receiving the AZ jab. One of the workers died on Monday.
Asked why he is so confident that the vaccine caused the blood clots, Holme told VG;
“We have the reason. Nothing but the vaccine can explain why these individuals had this immune response. There is nothing in the patient history of these individuals that can give such a powerful immune response.
I am confident that the antibodies that we have found are the cause, and I see no other explanation than it being the vaccine which triggers it.”
The Norwegian government and AstraZeneca have so far refused to comment. “We have to look at the results first, I don’t want to comment on this now”, said Medical Director Steinar Madsen to NTB, The Norwegian News Agency.
“We await the decisions of the EMA later today before we will comment on this”, said AstraZeneca’s Media Relations Director Christina Malmberg Hägerstrand.
This is a massive development. A Norwegian scientist has declared that the Vaccine itself caused the blood clotting in the three health workers he examined, one of whom died. This will not be reported outside of Norway. You should share it with anyone you know, who is due to receive the AZ jab or any other.

Melinda,
I am taking the liberty of excerpting the lead paragraph of that New York Post story, to make sure people here see it. Bolding is mine.
"The Jesuit priest who officiated then-President-elect Joe Biden’s inaugural Mass — and has been a family friend for almost 15 years — is under investigation for unspecified allegations and is now on leave from his position as president of Santa Clara University in California, according to the college."
=====================================
1. He's a Jesuit, a very liberal group. Pope Francis is also a Jesuit.
2. Family friend for 15 years? Which member of the family? Hunter? Joe?
3. What are these unspecified allegations? Sexual abuse? Drug smuggling? Money laundering?
4. He's in California. If the Bidens have known the guy for 15 years, surely he was serving on the east coast/DC area at some point. Anyone bothered to find out where?
5. Is he in California at the college because he was accused of something somewhere else?

Not to be too negative, but it's unfortunate that the Tinhorn Flats story is so rare. There's safety in numbers. If hundreds of restaurants in an area all did the same thing, I'm guessing it would be hard for the local dictators to do much about it, and it would be more of an embarrassment to them.
I remember that defiant gym owner in NJ. I believe he got shut down and possibly fined. Easy for me to say, but we need a mass uprising. Here in NYC at least it seems we've got so many cargo cult believers that businesses not only don't defy, but sometimes they even exceed the local orders in being strict. Like even now only allowing curbside pickup rather than people coming in and shopping or eating. I don't know if they really believe in what they're doing, or just think that enough other people believe it that it's in their interest to go along with it.

They were headed towards dobbins (which I grew up near enough to to come out and watch the c 5 galaxy when I was young. Then last night out came a letter from the same airport I could hear starting at 5 am the morning after super bowl that no one could be out and about there this afternoon.
Speculation since both potus and kamala are headed to ATL to visit cdc (over by emory), now stacy abrams, and then asian leaders is that it will NOT just be motorcades as was trump and pence's patterns.
Honestly everyone else too. In high school I had been to DT ATL for some reason and was on 75 coming north when I realized the exits were being blocked. I realized the presidential motorcade must be behind me (GErald ford) and got off at Dobbins exit, pulled over, and along it came 5 minutes later.

So, yes, NOBODY should trust anything the little twerp utters, but more importantly one has to ask who is using him to what end.
Duh. Clear as a bell.
As to Fauci the man, he did the same with Aids, he is a Hillary Clinton Butt Boy, his politics have been well known inside the Beltway for thirty years, and why Trump gave him that platform is beyond me. That political blunder is largely responsible for Trump losing the election.

US Circuit Judge Laurence H. Silberman warns the current state of media is 'a threat to a viable democracy'
U.S. Circuit Judge Laurence H. Silberman, a Reagan appointee, launched a broad attack on the Supreme Court's unwillingness to revisit precedent and the news media in a dissent in Tah v. Global Witness - a defamation case. After arguing against the court majority's ruling on the merits of the case, Silberman was "prompted to urge the overruling of New York Times v. Sullivan" - a landmark ruling that established what a plaintiff must show to prove a claim of defamation or libel made against a publisher.

The judge in the Chauvin case seems pretty good, actually, though that $27M settlement should have at least resulted in a change of venue. New Neo notes that two previously accepted jurors have been discharged because they admitted the settlement would make it hard for them to be objective. The others are probably lying.

Jane, did you sacrifice a virgin yet this week?
Seriously, I think when you login there may be some kind of "Remember me" check box that helps, unless I'm confusing it with JOM2. In any case I only get logged out of Typepad once every couple of weeks or so.

It does that to me, too.
