If two drunk people have sex how can one be protected by the concept of the inability to give informed consent but the other is not covered by the inability to perceive whether informed consent was given or not?
I’m not sure he was drunk, though he may not have been stone cold sober. As to Gus’s point, I believe he was charged with a crime that could involve prison time, just not rape.
I remember once in my younger days being at a bar and a really beautiful young woman gave me a friendly look and I naturally moved over and started a conversation. It became immediately clear that she was high as a kite, and probably in need of medical attention. It’s hard to imagine the mindset of a guy who would want to take her to his apartment rather than call an ambulance, unless he was equally high.
Gus, I have 3 daughters, the youngest being 24. Youngest got totally wasted a few times her freshman year at UCLA. I had to drive over in the middle of the night a few times to collect her when she was sicker than a dog and totally fuzzy in the head. But she still knew enough not to consent to any guy at the fraternity parties who tried to make a move. I'm sure there are times when a girl is so drunk she doesn't consent or know what's happening to her. So there are lots of possibilities. But I think there are also times when she does consent in her drunken state, and just regrets it later, as Jane says

Gus, from what I understand, your gripe is with the legislature that wrote the law, which the court claims it had had no choice but to apply, that explicitly says that if the woman voluntarily intoxicated herself she cannot claim "rape." Talking to a friend this morning whose sister and BIL live in San Luis Obispo about an hour north of Santa Barbara.
BIL is a contractor and is building a house for himself on a lot in town. Has his two carpenter guys working for him who he knows and has used for years. Pays them $90 per hour, which apparently is the going rate [some are over $100] there for decent carpenters.

The only cards Biden ever plays are race cards. He is a sick, disgusting racist fuck. From Cornbread to his remarks regarding South Asians to his "gonna put y'all in chains" to his "if you don't vote for you ain't black", he is a horrifying relic of the real Jim Crow South.
His fiasco with Harris on the border crisis exposes the Democrats Balkan strategy to perfection. Keep them all down so that the oligarchs can rule.

Exclusive: PayPal will announce that it has started allowing U.S. consumers to use their cryptocurrency holdings to pay at millions of its online merchants globally, a move that could significantly boost use of digital assets in everyday commerce
Warzel describes an idea devised by Michael Caulfield, a professor whom Warzel interviewed. Caulfield distilled the findings of two other professors, Stanford's Sam Wineburg and the University of Maryland's Sarah McGrew, into a process he calls SIFT: Stop, Investigate (the source), Find (better coverage) and Trace (claims to their original context).
"The four steps are based on the premise that you often make a better decision with less information than you do with more," Warzel wrote. "Also, spending 15 minutes to determine a single fact in order to decipher a tweet or a piece of news coming from a source you've never seen before will often leave you more confused than you were before."
While Warzel discourages professional researchers from using SIFT, he believes it provides an essential advantage for the average information consumer, who can be overwhelmed when evaluating online claims from various parties.
What the article leaves out, either because the author doesn't know or because Front Page and the Freedom Center get funding from the Bradley Foundation which funded the History Commission that developed the original conceptual frameworks standards that Winefield's work and SIFT are based on, is that SIFT is tied to both the Thinking Like a Historian-SHEG- as well as the Media Literacy Standards.
The Bradley Commission History Standards in turn built on the Rockefeller push that started in 1980 that I mentioned yesterday in Humanities and Language Arts. Conceptual frameworks are the real means of censoring thought that Big Tech and the Media are using, but that's not the story FP wanted to pitch.
The Freedom Center's ed work seems designed to get people upset while sending them in an unhelpful direction that doesn't interfere with Bradley's overall vision. I have been tracking their work by its function and how it always seems to be what Rockefeller funded initially, but the new Hewlett Foundation Economy and Society Initiave actually mentions Bradley as funding groups on the Right they think they can work with. Apparently Hewlett also funded Oren Cass' latest think tank American Compass to expressly act as the Right steering pincer in its vision to explicitly move beyond Neolibrealism.

#OTD 2006, former NSA computer specialist Kenneth Ford was sentenced to 6 years in prison for removing classified documents from his workplace. Acting on a tip from his girlfriend, the @FBI found boxes of Top Secret documents during a search of his home.
=========================================
Looking back on this,I now wonder if Walker was set up via the girlfriend, who may have been a plant.
Why was this posted? Is this a warning to certain people in intelligence? Does this signify an inter-agency war? Who was the intended recipient of the documents?
That's Wineburg, not Winefield. And the Hewlett Initiative report launched officially in December 2020 although it builds on initiatives it has been funding since about 2018.
The LPE--Law and Political Economy reworking of the purpose of the law is part of this, as is Fairer Tomorrow launched by Stanford's CASBS. Danielle Allen's new integrated history and civics curriculum is also funded by Hewlett as is the Moral Economy push they are funding in various econ departments.

I just don't want to divert attention to an inanimate faceless object away from the actual evil humans within our midst themselves.
The whole point of our "scheme of association" was to carefully, guardedly allow a government limited to only those powers the We The People agreed to.
Our own people in large numbers broke that compact on purpose, and in so doing, as Codevilla (h/t Mel) wrote yesterday, they freed all of us from complying with any "rules" those people seek to impose.
Jefferson said in the Declaration of Independence that free people have a duty to do just that, now that our own people are transgressing those limits worse than King George ever imagined he could get away doing.
Notice too how the Front Page story managed to hype critical thinking and creativity which are 2 of the 4 21st century skills and do not work in the manner the writer has readers believing. Both terms though tie to conceptual frameworks real intended purpose and both are grounded in CA standards and the work of arthur costas in the 90s IIRC.

Covid is not like the bubonic plague in any way. The plague was a true pandemic, killed 50million people in 2 years. The reason Covid became what is has is because of the media. They created the fear factor for it.
They are the most powerful entity on the planet.
=======================================
This is why I am convinced it was a biological and psychological weapon from China. I haven't forgotten those videos of Chinese dropping dead in the street, supposedly "leaked" out of China. The memory of the fearsome Black Plague has remained with us in our cultural memory even if most now couldn't tell you what it was, when it was, or what caused it.
Consider phrases like "avoid it like the plague" and you see what I mean.
I think they tried like hell to manufacture the virus that would kill all people except Han Chinese. When THAT proved unsuccessful, they decided to use this one as a way to destabilize our society, tank our economy, and get rid of Trump.

cathyf, Narciso,
It's a version of the Planned Parenthood scam:
1. Drugs (including fentanyl produced in China)pour over the southern border. Massive $$$$.
2. A share gets donated to PACS which support those officials (elected and appointed) who look the other way or push for things like amnesty.
3. PAC money goes to officials via various schemes. Hence 3 homes for Bernie Sanders, Pelosi's massive wealth, Biden's 47 years in Congress, etc.
Rinse and repeat.

Footnotes are my friend.

#OTD 2006, former NSA computer specialist Kenneth Ford was sentenced to 6 years in prison for removing classified documents from his workplace. Acting on a tip from his girlfriend, the @FBI found boxes of Top Secret documents during a search of his home.
=========================================

I agree, Jane.
Femall.

http://invisibleserfscollar.com/intertwining-architects-advocates-makes-planned-mind-manipulation-both-tight-and-nearly-invisible/ from 2018 on how SHEG works and conceptual frameworks dictating required categories of thought generally and the ties to both Wineberg and George Mason and the Rockefeller Foundation are all here.

=======================================
