Dems get locked out of Texas special election

Republicans placed first and second in the Texas 6th District primary, which means Democrats will miss the runoff.

They should have updated the URL.

US denies report of Iran prisoner swap deal, release of $7B in frozen funds

I also saw a report out of the UK that the UK will pay Iran for the return of a hostage.

Then there's this:

Israeli official: Biden told Mossad director U.S. isn't close to returning to Iran deal

Find it amusing that the Israelis are leaking like a sieve lately. Pay back?

I hate when that happens. Nowadays I tend to use the copy function before posting. If typhuspad is hungry I can just paste my comment back in the box.

I don't believe Xiden*. I have no reason to think that the Mossad would either.

This is interesting as it fits with my current thinking about Covid.

"The paper, published on April 30, 2021, in Circulation Research, also shows conclusively that COVID-19 is a vascular disease, demonstrating exactly how the SARS-CoV-2 virus damages and attacks the vascular system on a cellular level. The findings help explain COVID-19’s wide variety of seemingly unconnected complications, and could open the door for new research into more effective therapies."

"In the new study, the researchers created a “pseudovirus” that was surrounded by SARS-CoV-2 classic crown of spike proteins, but did not contain any actual virus. Exposure to this pseudovirus resulted in damage to the lungs and arteries of an animal model—proving that the spike protein alone was enough to cause disease. Tissue samples showed inflammation in endothelial cells lining the pulmonary artery walls."

I've been reading that the endothelial cells that line the vascular system and give it its Teflon-like smoothness have ACE-2 receptors just like the cells lining the lungs.

That might explain the strokes and blood clot issues that some people have experienced.

Former Nevada Sen. Harry Reid believes US defense contractor Lockheed Martin may have once had fragments of a crashed UFO in its possession, it was revealed Friday.

Reid, 81, told The New Yorker that he had never actually seen proof of the remnants — but tried, unsuccessfully, to get approval from the Pentagon to find them.

“I was told for decades that Lockheed had some of these retrieved materials,” the Democrat told the magazine.

“And I tried to get, as I recall, a classified approval by the Pentagon to have me go look at the stuff. They would not approve that,” Reid continued. “I don’t know what all the numbers were, what kind of classification it was, but they would not give that to me.”

New Jersey Gov. Murphy To Make Major Announcement Monday On Easing Restrictions, Vaccinations

IMO, he's about run out of time. The Jersey shore season opens on the 29th with the beginning of the Memorial Day weekend. People need enough time to put business plans into place. Although I am hearing that rental bookings down the shore are up bigly.

I just lost a post, but I’m pretty sure user error was part of it 🙄

It’s sad the vision that Jefferson had for the country regarding education for all has been so corrupted by govt, but that is what govt does best!

My three kids attended public school. They did well. They tell me they are glad they did not go to private school, as they appreciate the “diversity” that public school provided. Certainly there were issues that came up, but for the most part we were able to avoid them. My town has a great mix of rich, poor, farmers, scientists, doctors, fishermen, and regular jamokes, et al.

But I think we may have just escaped the public school system in time! Probably the older, better teachers are retiring, and I can see the writing on the wall for the future.

And around here the private schools are just as bad. Maybe even worse. Daughter’s employer is totally woke. She thinks she should go public school for the money. I said, “But there’s all the union bs.” She said she already deals with the liberal bs. My private hs has Mueller speak at graduation four or five years ago. My youngest’s friends attended the successful charter schools. They are so left, it’s crazy. So sad.

Thats as if lawrence walsh had spoken at mine.

We had our mayor who had gone to the school for a year,

Lawrence Walsh! Yikes! I have “Walsh” in my family history. Also “Flynn.” Too many politicians of Irish decent. 😳

On another sad note:
Hubs went to Burger King down Cape Friday, and a hand written sign was posted at the drive through, “Sorry for the long wait, but no one wants to work anymore.”

Kat Timpf posted on Nat Review OL about a student who attended Trinity College who was in the same class as my oldest. She sent me a text about it, as we both met the student and his father during a pre-testing day (or something like that). The students left to take placement tests. The parents were stuck with the admin info session. This nice guy, a black guy, who was hilarious, asks about how to reach his son, who he says is a handful. Admins, “Well, you can’t do anything about that.” He was just a normal parent, who knew he had a mess in the future. Kick it forward, past daughter’s freshman year, and the son makes it to Timpf’s online post.

He transferred from Trinity, as it was too whatever, to some other school, and had changed his name to something Muslim (not sure on the caps there so forgive me). He became a radical leader at this school.

He grew up with at least a nice father! He was smiling with his father at this testing day. His story is complete bs. And K Timph posted about it being so. Yes, she’s annoying, but she’s doing something to fight back. I don’t understand her generation.

"Texas political data expert Derek Ryan laid out the facts of the election on social media Saturday night: “Here’s what you need to know about the Austin camping ban proposition as it heads towards victory. Only 20% of early voters were Republican Primary voters. 55% were Democrat Primary voters. The remaining had no primary history but based on modeling data, 75% of that group skewed Democrat.

Assuming every Republican Primary voter and modeled Republican voter voted for the camping ban, they still only make up 40% of the ‘yes’ votes.”

"This was clearly a coordinated hit being made by WaPost, evidenced by the timing; the initial report was made midweek to land in busy news cycles, while the correction is made in the weekend lull of low news consumption. Now, there have been follow-up retractions seen, one coming from the New York Times, and a second being made by NBC News. These are deeply revealing, because both outlets are not dismissing their culpability by saying their position was based on the WaPost report.

Both The Times and NBC have to walk back their claims of independently corroborating the report with their own sourcing and investigation. This exposes the game being played with more frequency in the press, as major outlets gather up in tandem being a breaking story and provide what are claimed to be independently verified versions of the same account, when the probability is they are operating off of the same source(s). This is not corroboration, it is coordination, which leads instead to a collective version of Wiley E. Coyote bombs exploding in their faces."

The Harvard man and Alpha Epsilon Pi brother is a member of the so-called “SALT caucus,” a group of congressfolk threatening to hold up Joe Biden’s infrastructure bill if it doesn’t include a full repeal of a Donald Trump-imposed $10,000 cap on deductions of state and local taxes.

“It is high time that Congress reinstates the state and local tax deduction, so we can get more dollars back into the pockets of so many struggling families,” intoned Gottheimer, one of 32 members of the SALT caucus, which includes 8 Republicans."

Wow, that’s weird: as Governor of California, Ronald Reagan signed a law legalizing “therapeutic” abortions

Xi said the “power to control the internet” had become the “new focal point of China’s national strategic contest,” and singled out the #US as a “rival force” standing in the way.

This is a long thread full of videos. I haven't viewed all of the videos as it would take too much of my time.

It's very strange and I haven't consumed enough coffee yet to understand what the writer is implying for sure. The author has a degree in performing arts and her mother is both a victim and survivor of communism (her words) who was an actress. She maintains that those "dancing nurse" videos are more than just bad taste time-killers.

Now, I don't know that she is onto something at all, but there are some curious things about them, like all of them seem to be posted on Tic Toc, which is Chinese owned. None identify the hospitals, no one sees evidence of patients or overcrowding, no nurses who participated stepped forward to confess, many seem professionally choreographed and filmed, etc.

I would like any theories from anonamom or anyone else about this. I am currently leaning towards the idea that CCP has hired dancers and posted these to demoralize Americans and make us feel like the medical people aren't ooncerned about us, OR it's a sophisticated way of communicating to agents in the US.

I suggest reading the replies after the thread as well. Coupled with China's desire to control the internet, as I posted earlier this morning, it's an interesting concept.

Verizon sells AOL & Yahoo to Apollo Global Mgmt, the private equity fund that used to be run by Leon Black.

Details: Apollo will pay $5 billion for a 90% stake in the business, with Verizon retaining a 10% stake. It's a slightly higher price than what was expected, but still far short of the $9 billion that Verizon paid to acquire the businesses.

It previously sold former Yahoo properties HuffingtonPost (to Buzzfeed) and Tumblr (to Automattic), but for nominal amounts.

Both the Yahoo and AOL acquisitions were meant to give Verizon lots of data so that it could sell targeted advertising against its media assets. AT&T, a rival phone company, tried to do the same thing with its acquisition of Time Warner's media assets in 2018….

I only agree with about 1/3 of this article, but the historical information on Huey Long is valuable, and some things I had never heard about.

Moar election fraud lawsuits.

The emails show Kenosha, like the other “WI-5” cities did, signed a contract with the Center for Tech and Civic Life for the $862,779 in grant money the city received. That’s the real rub, legally speaking, according to the attorneys representing the complainants thus far in Kenosha, Green Bay, and Racine. Binding the city’s elections officials to the terms of an outside groups’ “election safety and security” contract is at odds with the constitution, which clearly designates municipal clerks and the Wisconsin Elections Commission as the only overseers of elections in the state. And the hefty grants issued to each city came with clawbacks, meaning CTCL could take back the funding if the cities didn’t do what CTCL asked.

You would be hardpressed to note the results of the dallas election, if you do a cursory check.
