Bill Cosby freed from prison after sex assault conviction overturned by court

PHILADELPHIA - Bill Cosby has been freed from prison after Pennsylvania’s highest court overturned his sexual assault conviction.

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court threw out Bill Cosby's sexual assault conviction and opened the way for his immediate release from prison Wednesday in a stunning reversal of fortune for the comedian once known as "America's Dad," ruling that the prosecutor who brought the case was bound by his predecessor's agreement not to charge Cosby.

Cosby, 83, has served more than two years of a three- to 10-year sentence after being found guilty of drugging and violating Temple University sports administrator Andrea Constand at his suburban Philadelphia home in 2004. He was the first celebrity tried and convicted in the #MeToo era.

The former "Cosby Show" star was arrested in 2015, when a district attorney armed with newly unsealed evidence -- the comic's damaging deposition testimony in a lawsuit brought by Constand -- brought charges against him days before the 12-year statute of limitations ran out.

But the Pennsylvania Supreme Court said that District Attorney Kevin Steele, who made the decision to arrest Cosby, was obligated to stand by his predecessor's promise not to charge Cosby. There was no evidence that promise was ever put in writing.

The vast majority of truck drivers I've used have been good, safe and respectful drivers.
In my experience for every dumb or arsehole move by a truck driver there are about 25 arsehole moves around and to truck drivers by either impatient or ignorant car and pickup drivers.

Iggy, if there is a logging truck in front of me, I back off. In the 40+ years we've lived in northern Maine, there has been more than one freak accident of logs breaking loose and hitting the vehicle behind the truck, hitting the windshield and impaling the driver.

Good morning!

Everything is all messed up around here. Nobody watered my front porch flowers so a bunch died. Grandson got white paint all over the kitchen sink and didn't clean it up. No one cleaned up the counter so I had to do it last night. Bathroom trash was still in can from 2 weeks ago.

MM, certain members of my family have shown that their pattern recognition skills are nonexistent. Some people’s brains are OCD while others are absent any recognition of order.

They can’t put silverware in the right spot or glasses next to similar ones in the cabinet.

They just don’t see it. They have to learn to compensate using other parts of the brain and that takes effort.

Similarly, some people just don’t consider the future consequences of what they do now. They also have to learn to cope differently and have consideration for others.

Me, I think too much about others, which is one reason why our marriage partnership works well.

Okay, ... start retraining the people you deal with. Gotta do it sometime.
