Away we go.
I do have to say - I can't take the Biden fan-boys seriously. C'mon, all his foreign policy chops? What happened to 'wrong about everything'?
Putin-Biden would have been a mismatch twenty years ago and it hasn't gotten better. Well, that isn't a fair comparison anyway, since Putin's combination of physical energy, mental acuity and ruthlessness put him ahead of all our recent Presidents. But ask me about John McCain, who may have been the one guy that could have impressed Putin. His POW resume is scary. And either Bush 41 or Reagan would have done fine, especially since Putin would have been a mere lad.
Have you ever taken CNN--aka the Comic News Network--seriously? I mean those guys live in an alternate non reality based world. If they ever remove their lips from any "progressive" politician's posterior, it will be the first time.

LOL.
Had been a curiously humorless morning until this nugget.
Trump was the one guy besides Reagan who put America and its interests first and consequently is the one guy who handled Putin well. Clinton, W, Barry and the present dolt all occasionally talked tough but mostly were embarrassing in both their open pleas for cooperation and backing down on what mattered despite their occasional rugged rhetoric. They and the soft headed shits at State have no idea how to play the game.

Biden is no worse now vis a vis Russia and Red China than he would have been twenty or thirty or forty years ago. For example, Biden was a stalwart opponent of Reagan's Strategic Defense Initiative. Biden has always been a reliable Dem accommodationist to the commies.
Re the Foreign Affairs article on Taiwan in the prior thread: I suppose if Taiwan has a open secret nuke program similar to Israel's, we would have heard about it by now. I'm not a lawyer (nor have I ever played one on TV) so I'm curious about the concept of the federal government out sourcing activities forbidden by the Bill of Rights.
We've seen this brought up in RussiaGate when the idea came that the CIA/FBI had gotten MI6 to do their dirty work. Early this year, it came up again when DHS talked about using it for avoid 4th amendment concerns. Now, it comes up again with Merrick Garland enlisting 'Big Tech' to help do their 'dirty work'.
What is the legal underpinnings of this concept. Is it illegal ? unconstitutional ?
Likewise, on the flip side .. we have had Mark Zuckerberg spread his ZuckerBucks during the election to buy ?? no one seems to know. We've also had Mike Bloomberg buying State's Attorney General's offices by sending money to cover activities (i.e. gun control, etc) that he would like them to investigate.
I see a great danger in the public/private partnerships that have no transparency.

Georgia audit documents expose significant election failures in state's largest county
Records suggest more than 100 batches of absentee ballots in Fulton County could be missing. Some experts see "election tabulation malpractice" as state officials seek to remove county's top election supervisors.
Documents that Georgia's largest county submitted to state officials as part of a post-election audit highlight significant irregularities in the Atlanta area during last November's voting, ranging from identical vote tallies repeated multiple times to large batches of absentee ballots that appear to be missing from the official ballot-scanning records.
The problems in predominantly Democratic Fulton County potentially impact thousands of ballots in a presidential race that Joe Biden was certified as winning statewide by fewer than 12,000 votes.

I'm not inclined to elaborate conspiracy theories. Simper explanations often prove right. So, my take is the reason so many officials don't want to explore US funding for Wuhan is that it makes a lot of the bureaucracy look evil or at least incompetent and opens the floodgates on questions of using cut outs to fund things Congress could never approve.

I don't think the CCP can be certain of this. In case you didn't know TC, in the 70s Taiwan developed a nuke program right up to the point of being able to build a bomb but did not do so. At US insistence they officially abandoned the program. But they unofficially continued it and it was only the placement of a US spook that revealed the secret research program they continued that rendered it an open secret.
The lesson they learned was either to not have secret programs or they learned to be better at it. Either way, not a small risk in assuming they don't.
No doubt the CCP has plenty of spies in Taiwan but spies are pretty good at telling you what they know but not at telling you what they don't.

Should Congress or an inspector general discover that such a cut-out was used, the appropriate response would be to excise the offending department from government. Fired. No benefits. No replacement.

For what it is worth, when I had breathing troubles due to covid, I adopted the breathing exercises that Amom had posted earlier that year. The most important thing was to avoid laying on your back as that closes down the airways and allows pneumonia to set in. The doctors were very pleased with me that I had knowledge of this and was diligent in doing it. They will bring you extra pillows to make it more comfortable.
I have no idea if this is a technique for all, most, or only some lung issues. I certainly hope it helps you.
