Fortunately Biden is President, because if Trump was in charge and we had allegations that Russia is hacking our hot-dog production prior to the 4th of July, MLB and the NBA playoffs would be cancelled and the media would be 24/7 on "Where's the beef?".
Hot dogs?

Nope. He's Jim Comey and John Brennan rolled into one, a mendacious megalomaniac using his government power to back his political/personal allies while ultimately punishing those who challenge his authority. No "regard" for an institution, only their own interests and ego.

Energy outages due to weather events, civil unrest, looting and destruction that is ignored by government, fuel and food shortages due to ransomware attacks, economic disasters due to government enforced business closures, a government that takes sides in cultural disputes...
If the objective is to prove that preppers are the rational people among us, I say, "Well done, modern world. Well done."
Suddenly, a 72 hour kit, a stock of ammo and a bugout bag do not look so irrational.
If you do not see how quickly our comfortable existence could devolve into an uncomfortable reality, how fragile our everyday lives truly are, you aren't paying attention.
Massive government. All-encompassing, overweening, provide for every need, systems that mitigate every risk governance. Free universal healthcare and money for your retirement so you do not need to worry about the “mundane” things – this is the promise of all collectivists and their variants – progressives, socialists, Marxists, communists, etc. Collectivists believe that democratic systems are just too inefficient and seek to create “planned” economies and social order through the creation of enforced “sameness” through creating large, conforming systems.
Supporters of these ideologies reference their belief that the role of government is to make the decisions they deem we are incapable to make and do the things that we cannot do for ourselves – except these days, that seems to be just about everything.
About a decade ago, I remember being in Luanda, Angola and bitching how much the Internet service sucked at the hotel as I was reminded of a concept that is a basic when designing any large-scale system. This is a concept that applies in structuring production processes, machine design, computer networks and even political systems – because after all, government is a system. Called the single point of failure, this is most prevalent in the design of communication, data, and power transmission networks.
Single point of failure (SPOF) is a part of a system that, if it fails, will stop the functioning of an entire system. SPOF’s are undesirable in any system with a goal of high availability or reliability, be it a business practice, software application, or other industrial system.
The country of Angola is a communist/socialist state and as such all services are centralized and under government control. In 2012, Angola experienced a SPOF in their national Internet service because they had placed all the servers and main routing structures in on area – when there was a single major issue that knocked this data center off-line, the entire country was without Internet service for a week. About the same time, the manufacturers of the once ubiquitous Blackberry, Research in Motion, also had a massive, week-long outage in Europe, South America, and Africa due to a faulty core switch – which strangely was designed as a failsafe system to move the data flow to a redundant backup system – but the “failsafe” failed.
Why is this germane? It is relevant because the users of the Internet in Angola and the Blackberry users in affected eastern regions had become dependent on these services for communication, commerce, and societal connections. These are smaller scale examples of what is occurring in the US with the insidious integration of government into the economy and our individual lives - and the dependencies that are being created.
Single points of failure create failure cascades that spread lightning fast.
The decision of the Biden government to force Americans into electric cars is an action the government has decided to take on our behalf because they believe we cannot make the “right” decision. That decision is fraught with danger because electricity is a manufactured energy (unlike fossil fuels, that are natural resources) - most of our electricity is generated using the hated fossil fuels, there is not enough generating capacity to charge all those vehicles and the grid is unprotected from outages or attacks. In general, a forced conversion is the creation of a national security issue.
Last week I brought up something called an EMP or electromagnetic pulse.
Lest you think this is science fiction, Earth has had one significant EMP event of natural origin called the Carrington Event, a powerful geomagnetic storm that hit Earth on September 1–2, 1859. It was a solar coronal mass ejection (CME) that induced the largest geomagnetic storm on record.
Observed and recorded by British astronomers Richard Carrington and Richard Hodgson, the storm caused strong auroral displays and wrought havoc with telegraph systems, setting electrical transmission and telegraph lines on fire.
Imagine such a solar storm of this magnitude occurring today. In our digital, microchip dependent age, it would cause widespread electrical disruptions, blackouts, and damage due to extended outages of the electrical grid. We narrowly dodged another bullet in 2012 when a coronal mass ejection of similar magnitude as the Carrington Event passed Earth's orbit without striking the planet, missing by a mere nine days, a tick of the second hand of the cosmic clock.
And we have done exactly nothing to harden systems of which the Biden government is hell bent on creating a dependency.
Reagan said freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. Our standard of living has a much shorter life span. Under the right wrong conditions, it is a matter of days.

SBW,
The portable hot-spot from the library connects to Sprint. I get a good, clear signal much faster than when I use a borrowed logon for Optimum.
And if the connection drops out, it reconnects automatically. With the Optimum wifi I get tons of outages each day and have to reconnect manually. Sometimes I lose the connection due to a poor signal. Other times I get kicked off because too many other people are using the same logon that belongs to a local diner.

Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg emailed NIAID director Anthony Fauci in the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic to thank him for his “leadership” during the pandemic, and alert him to the rollout of Facebook’s coronavirus information hub, which artificially boosted “authoritative” information about the virus.
The emails show Zuckerberg requesting a video Q&A with Fauci, because, in the Facebook founder’s words, “people trust and want to hear from our experts rather than just a bunch of agencies and political leaders.”

--@joebiden doesn’t care about the American people. He only cares about bowing down to the Far Left.--
If the only thing he cares about is "bowing down" to it perhaps he is not bowing down but is part of it. The Far Left IS the Democratic party.
Joe Manchin and Kristen/Kirsten/Whatever Sinema/Simena/Whatever would have been considered radical far left freaks 20 years ago, or less, for what they believe and vote for now. The rest of them including Biden are little short of communists, which is to be expected as the party, along with the rest of our institutions, was burrowed into and subverted by the Marxists of the New Left.
It is far past time we pay zero attention to their rhetoric and only look at their real intentions which are judged by their actions and their intent which those actions reveal.
When you do so, you see a party of radicals intent on establishing one party rule by hook and [not 'or'] by crook. One party rule when accomplished by corrupt generals yields authoritarianism and a loss of political rights if you get out of line and threaten their power. One party rule when accomplished by ideologues yields totalitarianism and a loss of all rights because your very existence coupled with an operative brain is perceived, correctly, as a threat to their power.

-'From The Ever-Shrinking Desk of Donald J. Trump' is ending its attempts to rile people up.-
LOL
Earth to Tom - Trump is the result not the cause of we the people already being riled up as hell. And the illegal and immoral attempts to suppress Trump as the peaceful political vector of that anger by the very people and institutions that spawned it only guarantees forces and personalities will rise up that will have the dumb ass progs and the mincing moderates fondly wishing for the return of the Orange Ogre.
That fundamental and fundamentally stupid misunderstanding of the dynamics of our current political cause and effect results in all manner of equally stupid miscalculations by the ruling class and by the otherwise reasonable citizens who threw in with the wretched Biden because they listened to the rhetoric of the ruling class. Those miscalculations are making a political resolution impossible and it is the "reasonable" citizens making that state possible. By jettisoning their role as autonomous self governing free men in response to the cultural pressure and chaos the left is sowing they give the left the power to accomplish the political suppression of their enemies which is the one thing virtually guaranteed to result in catastrophe. A catastrophe will inevitably ensue when the far left accedes to power and they could not have done it in this case without the help of the mincing reasonable moderates.

So at least some of the experts are now saying that inflation is behind us. That's what I just heard on the radio anyway. I wonder how that can be with more money printed in the past year than all years prior combined?
In 2008/09 several trillion in value simply up and disappeared. I expect the same again, but worse. That's the problem with investments. When they zero out there is nothing left except maybe some hard assets to buy at a huge discount.
We've become even more fiscally reckless since and Joe has done his best to throw a monkey wrench into the economy. Caveat emptor.

From the Julie Kelley link;
--Defendant Illegally Entered U.S. Capitol, Walked in the Senate Chamber, Took a Selfie and Stood with Other Individuals...
...Hodgkins pleaded guilty to one count of obstructing an official proceeding, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, fine of $250,000 or twice the monetary gain or loss of the offense. He is scheduled to be sentenced on July 19 at 10 a.m. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.--
What did Code Pink and BLM and every other lefty creep ever get for obstructing official proceedings?
If he gets more than time served it's just one more log on the accumulating bonfire that is going to permanently obstruct official proceedings.
They so fear we're chafing under their rule that they do the one thing aspiring tyrants always do in such situations, the very thing that guarantees the chafing will become an open wound; demonstrate that their rule is not to be challenged.

I'm not sure. Jimmy and others know better than me, but a good case can be made that accumulating debt is by itself deflationary. That presumably is why the Fed has struggled for some time creating inflation to counter the deflationary pressures, which has resulted in the easier and easier money. And that in turn has resulted in the asset bubbles we've seen in lieu of an ordinary general inflation.
At some uncertain point the debt, if it is not halted [and we have most certainly not halted it] becomes unsustainable and presumably at that point default through non payment or actual inflation ensues. But until then and where 'then' is, IDK, although zero interest rates and the present insane spending binge imply it is fast approaching.
