And in the Ongoing Weirdness file: the vaccines that came out of Operation Warp Speed seem like an obvious Trump win. But Republicans aren't exactly celebrating it that way.

https://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/2021/07/racist-mayor-keisha-lance-bottoms-daniel-greenfield/ is worth reading. I did not know she used her grandparents house for interviews to avoid her 5,000sq foot home being an issue.
Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms became the mayor of Atlanta by 759 votes by accusing her opponent of racism for exposing voter fraud.
Mary Norwood of Buckhead, who had lost the mayoral election against Bottoms' corrupt predecessor, Mohammed Kasim Reed, by 714 votes, had described how Democrats steal elections by bringing in “thugs” and pay people to vote.
Bottoms claimed that the word “thugs” was racist.
Even after winning by a margin suspiciously similar to that of Reed, who had endorsed her, Bottoms went on complaining about racism, and claiming that being accused of corruption was racist and “it was still shocking to me in Atlanta. I thought that we were way beyond that”.
Same group involved with the fulton vote fraud. Most of the city of atlanta is within fulton county.

The entire establishment was conspiring and colluding against Trump.
C'mon man! 4 years of relentless and baseless accusations of treason. 95% negative stories in the media. Hundreds of millions in in-kind donations by Big Tech.
What was amazing was that Trump still outpolled the Dems.
To believe that Biden somehow got 15 million more votes and outpolled both Clinton and Obama by massive amounts strains credibility. The find that election rules were blatantly rigged also does so.
The game was rigged from the outset. Time magazine even outlined much of what they did.
And in the end, China bought a lot more influence on the cheap.

Macy's Store in Chicago Unfurls the World's Largest American Flag in Century-Old Tradition
It wasn't always. Growing up in Detroit, the old J.L. Hudson department store (the world's largest department store at the time) unfurled the world's largest flag on the side of its 15-story downtown store every Flag Day.
Those were the days. The flag, J.L. Hudson's, and the building are all gone.

Bill Cosby’s not free on a technicality. He’s free because his prosecutors cheated.
[An interesting article that includes several instances of prosecutorial misconduct.]
"Bill Cosby did not walk free because he wasn’t guilty of drugging and then sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004 — or as he preferred to see it, of “dancing outside” of his marriage. That’s absolutely not what the Pennsylvania Supreme Court said.
But it’s also wrong to say that he escaped justice on a technicality. He escaped justice because a prosecutor’s office violated its previous agreement not to charge him. Go ahead and testify in a civil suit by Constand, they told him, because you’re not going to be charged.
That deal was incredibly stupid, but it was also binding. Yet after Cosby waived his rights and implicated himself, a successor to the DA who’d made that agreement decided to charge him anyway. Which wasn’t either fair or constitutional.
And as sick as I am to see a man accused by more than 50 women dance outside of his prison cell, I don’t think I get to be against prosecutorial wrongdoing only when it suits me.
When then-Wyandotte County prosecutor Ed Brancart cheated his way to a murder conviction against Kansas City, Kansas, mailman Olin “Pete” Coones in 2009, the result was that an innocent man served 12 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. That turned out to be a death sentence, since by the time Coones was freed last November, the cancer that had gone undetected behind bars was so advanced that he died in February, at age 64, after just 108 days of freedom...

An editorial I wrote and published Nov. 19, 1980:
A lesson in morality:
In the face of our recent "obscene" film seizure, here is today’s simple lesson on morality: There is a difference between writing or talking about doing something and actually doing that thing itself.
Talking about something is never immoral. Doing something is sometimes immoral. Imposing what you wish to talk about is often immoral. And forbidding people to talk about something is always immoral.
The greatest obscenity is what some people do to protect others from ideas that they don’t personally believe in.

Re. The IRS is always backlogged. However, remember that the Dems want to give the IRS many millions more to support its operations.
"...Khanna’s bill would provide $100 billion in extra funding to the IRS over 10 years to help it generate an estimated $1.2 trillion in revenue. Of that funding amount, $70 billion would go to enforcement, $20 billion toward taxpayer services, and $10 billion toward information technology and operations support. It would require IRS audits of the wealthiest corporations and individuals..."

The term 'constitutional republic' is no longer in use and neither is the term the NEH used to use--'representative democracy." The NEH and the K-12 curricula program Roadmap to Educating for American Democracy (Fed Ed/NEH/ICIVICS etc) which is targeting all schools everywhere all use the term--'constitutional democracy' religiously and exclusively.
The PI on the program's explanations for the shift do not hold up to scrutiny but they do fit with her vision as a 'moral philosopher' about what could be.
