Remember when I wrote about sending a check to AT&T Universal Card in April and found out later that it was diverted to a third bank instead?

Well I got all my complaints filed in June. Bank took my complaint and filed a fraudulent endorsement claim with TD Bank. AT&T waived all late fees and interest charges. I'm temporarily short $154.49.

Well July 1, I wrote a bigger check to AT&T Universal Card for $609.89. My bank statement arrived 7/12 showing that the check was cashed. I called AT&T Universal on 7/13 to confirm that the payment was received.

NOPE.

Bastards at the lock box operation stole my check again.

I'm not going to stand for this. Filed a complaint with the USPS Inspector's office. Filed a complaint with my bank, again. Talked to the fraud people at AT&T Universal Card.

Used a simple argument with all of them - I'd have to be suffering from a raging paranoia to suggest that I, and I alone, was the only one being targeted here, right? This must be happening to other people too, please look at your complaint database and look for similarities.

The fraud people at my bank said my account was compromised and I needed to open a new one. Yeah, OK, I'll get back to you. Called a higher muckety-muck at the bank and explained how ridiculous this was. I have two direct-deposit payments due me on the 1st. There isn't enough time to re-route them to a new account in time.

I'll make you a deal -if you press the idiots in your fraud dept. to dig a little deeper into this, I'll open the new account provided that you pay for the new checks and bridge the auto-deposits into the new account while I re-route them.

Went in today to sign the paperwork and all was as agreed and they had already credited back to me the funds from the two mishandled checks.

Apparently, they found a few more customers making the same/similar complaint that I had.
