The AP comes for Joe Biden. Gently.
But let's give Tired Old Joe some credit. He can do for Republicans what Trump (and Bush before him) did for the Democrats - let them set aside their differences and unite in their loathing.

On Bannoon, he says AXIOS (left site) reports 1/3 of the children who came in here illegally have disappeared.
This has been a red flag to me since back in the 80's, when no one was covering the number of children who were disappearing from national parks and Indian reservations. (I used to listen to Coast to Coast AM when I was going to sleep.)
Trump commented on missing children back 5-10 years before he ran.

Unfortunately, the johnny-come-lately loathing from many will not be sufficient to save us from almost four more years in which the order of succession is Biden-Harris-Pelosi and Leahy. If there is a fantasy politics league, that would make quite a last place lineup!
But at least there are no more mean tweets from Orange Man Bad/Authoritarian/Hitler/Clearly in Putin's Pocket Trump!

IF the drone that didn't take the "kill shot" was a Preditor type, its armament was probably Hellfire missiles. That would have been just as disastrous in a crowded environment. Of course their are no details, so speculation is all we have.

--In one experiment they had heart muscle cells about the size of a quarter that were beating regularly.
That means a heartbeat is not itself a useful indication of "life" or the proper ruler to use making legal decisions.--
SBW,
This is specious reasoning. Has there in history been a baby in the womb with a lump of heart cells not constituting a functional heart beating away? No.
A beating heart in a chest is a pretty useful indication of life when a doctor or EMT checks for a pulse, no? And since any society worth more than a pitcher of warm piss first and foremost protects innocent, defenseless life, any society that does not extend legal protections by default to an assumption of life using criteria such as a beating heart or functional brain is a pitcher that overfloweth.

Australia has turned into an open prison.
" Intrastate travel within Australia is also severely restricted. And the government of South Australia, one of the country’s six states, developed and is now testing an app as Orwellian as any in the free world to enforce its quarantine rules. People in South Australia will be forced to download an app that combines facial recognition and geolocation. The state will text them at random times, and thereafter they will have 15 minutes to take a picture of their face in the location where they are supposed to be. Should they fail, the local police department will be sent to follow up in person. “We don’t tell them how often or when, on a random basis they have to reply within 15 minutes,” Premier Steven Marshall explained. “I think every South Australian should feel pretty proud that we are the national pilot for the home-based quarantine app.”

For those who care to understand the "lock-on" terminology that the media and many others use for a weapon system, let me say that this is a term normally used for airborne radar tracking of objects such as other aircraft. UAVs and helicopters do not carry search and track radars, but instead utilize optical imaging systems. These can be in multiple imaging wavelengths such as infrared, visual, and low light level, also called image intensified as with Night Vision Goggles. These imaging systems do not "lock on" to anything in the classic sense, but instead utilize tracking features such as contrast tracker algorithms, laser spot tracking, or GPS/Nav system tracking. This is what the Predator utilizes with the Multispectral Targeting System (MTS). They would typically find a target by scanning a field of view and zooming in to a discrete object and utilize one of the methods to track that object through imagery. If a Hellfire were to be used, a YAG laser designator operating at 1064 nm and pulse coded per a classified algorithm would be selected to illuminate (invisibly) the target being tracked. Once fired, the missile tracks to the laser spot being illuminated. So laser guided munitions are not fire and forget. Locking on is a radar term and not involved in typical imaging weapon systems.

Davod,
My thumbnail icon is my mother and us 3 older girls dressed as cowgirls. I have the complete outfit because I had played Annie Oakley in our kindergarten circus show in the spring.
Like the gal who wrote the article, we had 2 network channels and a local station (ABC wasn't available in our area until the mid- 50's). I still remember when Dad brought home our first TV and where is got pride of place in our living room. A cabinet model with a screen about 14 inches wide. PBS didn't get here until the early 60's.
Consequently, we had to make up our own entertainment and we used to learn those old music hall songs and make our own costumes and create our own entertainment.
One of my favorite memories was when my sister the retired teacher was supposed to be portraying a dance hall girl and my youngest sister filled a shot glass with REAL whiskey (borrowed from my grandad who lived with us) to make the bar seem more realistic. Teacher sister threw it down in one gulp, thinking it was apple juice. Boy was my mother mad! My dad thought it was funny! (We required our parents to suffer through each production we made. LOL!)

David, the optics and lenses they can use are incredible. back in the 1960's the KH Series satellites used by the CIA could read the license plates of Soviet trucks from 150 miles in space.. I doubt drones get those optics but I'm sire they're pretty damn good.
What also bothers me is that there is always a chain of command when a drone strike is made, probably to the WH itself knowing those assholes. Was there positive ID? Were eyes on the target at all times? How did they know a car was loaded with explosives?
As I mentioned yesterday the supposed photo of the droned car showed no body damage, and in addition I would assume we would have wanted a very big secondary explosion to make sure mr TaliHaqqiIS was dead, dead, dead.
Spent time with an amazing artist friend of my my sis in Joshua Tree today. His pop was a famous anthropologist (physical) and left him a wonderful collection of museum quality African tribal art, which I know something about. It might be one of the finest collections in private hands in the world.
There were a dozen amazing Benin bronzes, a ton of Dan masks and just an amazing range of work from West and Central Africa. All of it I'm sure pre-Western colonization.
We then went to Pappy & Harriet's for lunch and scored tickets for Lucinda Williams as well! I would rate the day an A+
