"...while also raising the corporate tax rate paid by large firms. That approach was consistent with President Biden’s insistence that Americans earning less than $400,000 per year be spared any tax hikes..."

A tax on corporations is only not a tax hike on Americans earning less than $400,000 if you don't purchase anything from a corporation, or work for a corporation or have any ownership stake in corporations, like through a 401K, etc.

The families lost the battle when the schools decided not to enforce the rules of conduct. It got even worse when they specifically singled out minority children for special treatment despite the statistics. Now, we are back at the blackboard jungle stage.

Kids don't learn because of a small minority, and instead they get propagandized that they are the victims.

the people that brought you vietnam (mcgeorge bundy and the ford foundation) rockefeller's brood, carnegie reshaped the curriculum, while we were in school, or at work, and because their dikta is sacrosanct according to the prestige press, so few challenged it, the remaining foundations were still around but weakened by the time 'the nation at risk' reports came about, and allen bloom was pontificating, about frankfurt school influences, so they ayers and company used that opportunity to bulldoze what remained,

This was interesting. I am surprised the Dads were not arrested for trespassing.

"...I am heartened to learn of Dads on Duty:

After a violent week of fighting in school that saw 23 students arrested in three days, Southwood High School parents knew something had to change.

Some dads decided to take matters into their own hands. They formed Dads on Duty -- a group of about 40 dads who take shifts spending time at the school in Shreveport, Louisiana, greeting students in the morning and helping maintain a positive environment for learning, rather than fighting.

The students say it's working -- and the numbers prove it. There hasn't been a single incident on campus since the dads showed up..."

DSCA, in 1975 the South Vietnamese had a static border line with the North. After Nixon's last push, the North not only signed the Paris Accords, but they were pretty well spent.

It was Joe Biden and the leftists in Congress who cut off aid to South Vietnam. This signaled the go ahead to the NVA.

A lot of ARVN units fought until they ran out of ammunition. No ammo, no non-lethal aid. Nothing from the USA. One of our darkest and most despicable moments.

I'm damn near 70 and this twit is by far the worst U.S. president ever. Hell, if everybody on this blog had rowboat WE could invade Taiwan, and he'd do nothing about it-- just hide in Wilmington. Or is it Scranton this week.

DCSCA

'In the fiscal year running from July 1, 1974, to June 30, 1975, the congressional appropriation for military aid to South Vietnam was $700 million. Nixon had requested $1.45 billion. Congress cut his aid request, but never cut off aid.

Nixon's successor, President Gerald R. Ford, requested an additional $300 million for Saigon. Democrats saw it as an exercise in political blame-shifting. "The administration knows that the $300 million won't really do anything to prevent ultimate collapse in Vietnam," said Senator and future Vice President Walter F. Mondale, D-Mn., "and it is just trying to shift responsibility of its policy to Congress and the Democrats." Congress didn't approve the supplemental appropriation.

The Times reported that with National Security Adviser and Secretary of State Henry "Kissinger's personal prestige tied to peace in Vietnam, his aides have said that he will try to pin the blame for failure there on Congress." He tried to do just that at a March 26, 1975 news conference in which he framed the question facing Congress as "whether it will deliberately destroy an ally by withholding aid from it in its moment of extremity." Three years earlier, in October 1972, the month in which Kissinger publicly proclaimed that "peace is at hand," he privately told the President that their own settlement terms would destroy South Vietnam.

Congressional aid cuts didn't determine the war's final outcome. Saigon's fate was sealed long before, when Nixon forced it accept his settlement terms in January 1973."- source, historynetwork

Baldwin film crew had been target shooting with "prop gun" before incident
Jazz Shaw Oct 24, 2021 11:01 AM ET

The prop gun that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on a New Mexico movie set had been used by crew members offsite for fun, a new report claims.

The gun, which was fired by Alec Baldwin on the set of the movie “Rust,” may have even been loaded with live rounds when it was used for what was essentially target practice, TMZ reported.

Multiple sources connected to the production of the film told TMZ that the gun was fired at off-the-clock gatherings – which could explain how a live round found its way into the gun’s chamber.

Consider the source. I have no love for Nixon, Ford, or Kissinger, but it was the Democrats who cut (and ultimately cut off) aid to the S. Vietnamese, and should take the blame for their defeat. Proclaiming that they would have been defeated anyway is just speculation and ass-covering for the cowardly Democrats.

Jimmy K. There were two invasions of the South by the North after most US troops left. The first was beaten back by the South. The one everyone remembers is the second, victorious invasion.

The US agreed to provide the South with logistics and some air support.

Why did the North win, when it couldn't win just a few years earlier? Logistics and air support.

The Chinese and Russians quadrupled their support of the North, whereas the US cut support. There were ships in the harbor that were ordered not to unload.

Beagle Gate:

"...To recap this “research: First, the beagles were put in cages and cast adrift on the desert sands for nine consecutive nights. With the temperature approaching freezing in those dark desert nights, the dogs shivered and moaned and howled as hundreds – perhaps thousands – of infectious sand fleas were drawn to their warmth. So these poor dogs were responsible for literally capturing their future murderers.

Then, the forty-four pups were given cordectomies – the same surgical procedure used on humans who have laryngeal cancer. They couldn’t howl or bark or even whimper – the pups’ heads are put into small cages holding the infectious sand fleas. Finally, researchers watched as the sand fleas literally ate their beagle hosts alive, from the inside out. That, apparently, is something Dr. Fauci considers not just science, but science worthy of a $375,800 grant from America’s too-generous taxpayers..."

'Will we ever get our country back?'

Pragmatic Populism, as I call it, has been simmering to a boil now for decades. The pattern is there- Perot... Buchanan... Palin... Trump... and it dovetails w/t falling numbers who reregistered w/t 'major parties' too. Did a thesis on this in college in the mid-70s and the data showed one of these major parties would eventually nominate a person w/a background like Trump as their initial elected office -- a corporatist; and win. He just happened along w/t right sales pitch at the right time. The projections shows the lines crossing around 2000... so it was 15 years off... And the thing about 1/6 is-- it could have been anything to spark that; nobody advocates violence but people are just tired of the incompetence and the two-tiered, double standards w/t 'rule of law' and so forth. And look at Trump's numbers-- even though he lost, the actual tally grew over the previous cycle.

We've been presented w/a fork in the road- where 100% is 90%; where $2000 is $1400, abamdoning $85 billion worth of weapons,; where $3.5 trillion is pitched as costing "nothing" [that's just idiocy], etc., etc... so do Americans embrace the ideological swamp creatures typical of Washington for the past 45-50 years and go back- or press on w/demanding accountability and some pragmatic solutions.

I expect Trump to run again and has a good chance to win given the idiot in ther now and his useless VP -- or someone to pick up the pragmatic populism banner for him---- but these people aren't just going to fade away now that they've tasted a victory.

DCSCA

'ah yes the pentagon papers put together by a fool'
