Grr: 'Effing Aaron Rodgers cost his team a game and may be costing people their lives.
NFL COVID protocols strongly push towards vaccination, not whatever Rodgers homeopathic whirligig did to obtain "immunization":
"Unvaccinated players who test positive must isolate at least 10 days, even if they are asymptomatic. Vaccinated players, however, can return following a positive test as soon as they produce two negative tests with 24 hours in between, as long as they are asymptomatic. In other words, Rodgers would at least have a chance to play Sunday if he were vaccinated."
THROWING IT DOWN: Kareem dunks on Rodgers. More in the Times.
Grr II: Rule of law, anyone?!? A Federal court has stayed the dubious Biden-OSHA vaccine mandate pending review but Team Biden exhorts companies to ignore the court and soldier on. The distinction between "good idea" and "within the scope of Executive Branch authority" seems to baffle the Bidenauts. OK, Bidenuts.
Grr III: Erik Wemple of the WaPo once again bashes credulous lefties for their unwavering faith in the Steele dossier. As a bonus, Matt Taibbi piles on Rachel Maddow.
Despite their efforts I doubt this will redeem the left-wing media in many eyes on the right.

A young man named John received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity. John tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could think of to 'clean up' the bird's vocabulary.
Finally, John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled back. John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even more rude. John, in desperation, threw up his hand, grabbed the bird and put him in the freezer.
For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed. Then suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for over a minute. Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, John quickly opened the door to the freezer. The parrot calmly stepped out onto John's outstretched arms and said "I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior."
John was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude. As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, the bird spoke-up, very softly, ...
"May I ask what the turkey did?

"Hay bale and barn fires on farms in East Sussex were started deliberately, police have said.
The fires at Beddingham, Alfriston, Tarring Neville and Litlington happened between 2 and 7 November.
Police are working with the fire service to find who is responsible and have increased patrols in the area.
Sgt Jon Attfield from the Sussex Police rural crime team described the attacks as "disturbing".
"This is a highly destructive crime that impacts our farming community and livestock supplies," he said."

The Farm Bureau groups in Elkhart, Kosciusko, St. Joseph and Marshall counties created a $10,000 reward fund seeking information for police that can lead to criminal convictions in the fires.
Police have reported eight barn fires in Elkhart County alone, with the two most recent happening Oct. 4. Those fires have destroyed the buildings, along with equipment, hay and livestock."

https://www.popsci.com/science/gravitational-wave-black-hole-events-new/
Astronomers recorded a whopping 35 gravitational wave events in just 5 months
Ripples in spacetime hint at the evolution of our universe.
"In the latest run of observations for gravitational waves, an international team of astronomers have observed a significant number of these events. From November 2019 to March 2020, using the LIGO and Virgo observatories, the team recorded 35 gravitational wave events in less than five months.
Gravitational waves are ripples in space-time that are produced when large masses accelerate, like when two black holes collide. The first gravitational wave was detected in 2015, and this new haul bumps up the total number of observed events to 90. Among the catalog of findings were 32 likely black hole mergers and at least two mergers between a black hole and a neutron star. The paper, which has not yet been peer reviewed, was published on ArXiv."
I wonder if this was an extraordinary number of events, or if, with more findings that the consensus becomes, that, no, this kind of thing happens all the time, so to speak.
It's a new technology, so I assume they are getting better at using it. Is it an average of 15 events a year (90/6) or 7 per month (35/5)?
Either average suggests that there must be hundreds of millions, or billions, of these high-density objects out there to be colliding this often.

No one ever seems to trace this money once it's doled out. The media always acts like it's jobs for the unemployed but you never see any evidence of that. Instead it's all earmarked for studies, think tanks, etc. which means jobs for the usual crew of political insiders who probably donate a portion of it to politicians.

By now we all know that the Vax essentially does nothing we were told it would do if we took it.
I think making people take it and announce they took it is simply the Interrogator of Winston in 1984 saying the goal was not to make 2+2=5 but to get Winston to agree that it does if that is what the State wants him to.
This Vax mandate is simply a way to measure the degree of compliance in the population from which knowledge they can decide where to turn the heat up more.

Michael Smith · ·
In any organization, there are two kinds of power – there is ceremonial power and there is real power.
Ceremonial power often comes with a fancy title – I have known many with people with a “C” level title who had little but ceremonial power because someone else – a board member, a major investor, a banker, or a subordinate within the organization - held the real power. Real power is when things can’t happen without your agreement or influence or you sit in a position, an intersection, where your actions or inactions are critical to the organization’s actions.
I’ve had both.
I have held “C” level positions in an organization that was totally controlled by a member of the Board of Directors, who was also a major investor. He could control the Board, thereby controlling the business. I didn’t stay long there – it was my mistake for not understanding the “ceremonial power” situation when I signed on. I have also been a subordinate power – when I was with a company and was responsible for all global manufacturing, engineering, and quality, neither the General Manager or VP of Business Development of the business would make a move without consulting me and I set the performance expectations for the business.
It is interesting how these power dynamics work. Those holding ceremonial power are often at risk and suffer the consequences of the actions of those below them on the org chart, while those further down the food chain with real power are shielded to some degree. Ceremonial power tends to come with being the tallest blade of grass, ergo the first to get cut. This is not always the case, but more often than not, it is.
The lower levels in an organization, often where the real power lives, come with far less visibility and risk. One can spend an entire career under the radar. It has also been interesting to me that those with real power shun the spotlight and as they do, they have far more freedom to move around and do things. There are far fewer eyes on a VP of Manufacturing than there are the COO or CEO.
My point is this – when applied to everyday politics and government, the left as captured most, if not all, of the real power positions by burrowing into the bureaucracy and settling into powerful positions, positions that nobody really thinks about. These include appointed or non-elected positions as county or city managers, appointed department heads at local and state levels or even seats on school boards. Of course, one can add elected positions as well. Until the past couple of years, I’m pretty sure that not a lot of attention got paid to who was elected to local and state school boards, held District Attorney positions, sat on planning commissions or even who was the County Clerk.
The County Clerk for our county retired before the end of his term, opening the office for an appointee. By rule, the party holding the seat got to nominate a replacement to fill out the unexpired term. Our Democrat controlled County Council approved a Democrat, a former magistrate court judge who was the first and only in history to not be returned to that office by a vote of the eleven Federal District judges for our circuit. The reasons were kept confidential by law, but we do know the vote was unanimous.
Now that person controls our election scheduling and the counting of the ballots. That is real power. Given the nature of elections these days, one would think that before bestowing real power on a person with such a history, the citizens of the county would have a right to know why this person was the first in history not to be retained before they vote in 2022.
The positions with ceremonial power always seem to get the pomp and circumstance treatment – and most of them tend to be electoral offices – but not always.
But I digress.
In the past, I have noted that people want to term limit Congress to a few terms – let’s say 5 two-year terms in the House and 2 6-year terms in the Senate. The President is already limited to 2 terms – so that’s 10, 12 and 8 years respectively. The Office of Personnel Management (federal government agency) records the average seniority of a civilian federal worker at 13.7 years. Slightly over half have a undergraduate degree. There is also a category called the Senior Executive Service (SES) – people who serve in the key positions just below the top Presidential appointees – where the average length of federal service is 23.4 years. The administrative state is filled with people who understand how to work the levers of Leviathan. Even without term limits, the elected branches of government are transient – the bureaucracy is forever.
Based on these facts, just who do you suppose truly runs government?
While I have guesstimated that our elected officials have maybe, on a good day, control over 30% of the operation of the government Leviathan, it may be far less. There were three co-equal branches of government established by the U.S. Constitution. To combat the checks and balances provided in that document, a progressive movement started by the Constitution hating Woodrow Wilson, expanded by FDR, and enhanced by every successive progressive official, created a powerful, unelected, unchecked fourth branch - the bureaucracy, often referred to as the administrative or Deep State.
Today, that “Deep State” extends all the way to the tree-lined streets of your hometown or PS 131 around the corner from your apartment building in the city.
The real point is the American left, through conscious action or simple chance, have come to dominate the non-ceremonial positions that hold real power, and these positions have accrued that power with very few consequences for actions – most of which are done away from the eyes of those affected and simply “happen” with zero public announcement or awareness.
Sitting on a school board and controlling the education of local children used to be one of those positions. Loudoun County has garnered the most attention recently, that School Board presides over a system that “serves” around 85,000 students. Deciding the fate of that many children is real power.
America is waking up to that fact thanks to the battles over CRT and gender policies at the local and state levels, and in doing so are changing the power dynamics - and that is one of the most important keys to fighting back against a Deep State that has been built upon decades of leftist infiltration in every facet of American governance, down to your local schools.
We, as freedom-loving, law- abiding, citizens must root out every one of these burrowed-in power centers that have gone unnoticed and unchallenged and raise the level of risk of visibility and consequences for the holders of that power.

The prosecutor needs to be taken away in handcuffs. We are watching a serious crime right in front of us.

Too often we have figureheads like Biden and many members of Congress are puppets of someone hiding behind the green curtain.
One of our local House members is a perfect example. Her husband is a developer high up in the Republican Party and she pretty much follows his orders.
We have 2 or three local state legislators and Members of Congress who represent George Soros.

Stephanie, the sad part is the school board is a ceremonial position, as is the superintendent. Both ceremonial to the the real power in the accreditation organization for curriculum, and the teachers unions for budgets. It’s good that parents are taking over school boards… but they will have no power when they get there.

clarice,
Remembering the discussion on the sub hitting something in the South China Sea a few days ago, that Epoch Times article says 3 senior officers were cashiered. I never saw any mention of that before.

Yes, the commanding officer, the executive officer and the Chief of Boat. The three top positions.

And the cashiering was well-deserved. WTF is going on in the Navy?

This same prosecutor's office is going after Chrystul Kizer, a minor, for killing the man who raped and trafficked her.

Highest inflation in 30 years however you look at it.
GHWB giving the progs everything they wanted after Read My Lips made me vote for Clenis, which I soon regretted but it probably didn't matter which one we ended up with.

Brian Williams is leaving NBC after being shot at in Iraq and experiencing the horrors of bodies floating by his hotel room in NOLA and being under fire with Hillary in Bosnia and reporting on MacArthur's landing at Leyte and the atomic bomb tests at Kwajelein.
Who will replace him? I think NBC should consider Nikole Hannah Jones or Adam Schiff. Maybe Vindman.

Judge in Rittenhouse case to the prosecuting attorney (likely about acting in good faith): "I don't believe you".
