Grr: 'Effing Aaron Rodgers cost his team a game and may be costing people their lives.
NFL COVID protocols strongly push towards vaccination, not whatever Rodgers homeopathic whirligig did to obtain "immunization":
"Unvaccinated players who test positive must isolate at least 10 days, even if they are asymptomatic. Vaccinated players, however, can return following a positive test as soon as they produce two negative tests with 24 hours in between, as long as they are asymptomatic. In other words, Rodgers would at least have a chance to play Sunday if he were vaccinated."
THROWING IT DOWN: Kareem dunks on Rodgers. More in the Times.
Grr II: Rule of law, anyone?!? A Federal court has stayed the dubious Biden-OSHA vaccine mandate pending review but Team Biden exhorts companies to ignore the court and soldier on. The distinction between "good idea" and "within the scope of Executive Branch authority" seems to baffle the Bidenauts. OK, Bidenuts.
Grr III: Erik Wemple of the WaPo once again bashes credulous lefties for their unwavering faith in the Steele dossier. As a bonus, Matt Taibbi piles on Rachel Maddow.
Despite their efforts I doubt this will redeem the left-wing media in many eyes on the right.
he's known as an extreme tool, not so much he could get elected in 2016.

METV airs condensed, 30 minute episodes of the Carol Burnett Show nightly. That "Gone With The Wind" skit where she puts on a pair of drapes as a dress and declares, 'I just saw it in the window and had to have it...' is still hilarious. One of the funniest bits ever. Personally, I believe Burnett is much funnier than Lucille Ball ever was. Never found Luch funny... nor, for that matter, Bob Hope-- at least the TV Hope of the 1960s and 70s. Moderna and the federal government's biomedical research agency are entangled in a dispute over who exactly invented a crucial component of the company's coronavirus vaccine. The simmering conflict came to a boil in July, when Moderna filed a patent that excluded three government scientists who helped develop the shot. The conflict is about "more than scientific accolades or ego," per The New York Times, since its outcome will likely shape vaccine distribution and the dispersal of billions of dollars in profits.

Bob Hope had some great Bingless flicks. Maybe the funniest was The Princess and the Pirate. Hope at his best was a scene stealer so you had Bob Hope, Walter Brennan, Victor McLaglen and Walter Sleazak all of whom were trying to steal every scene and the lovely Virginia Mayo in vivid technicolor. "Insane" genius: Did Rittenhouse gamble pay off?
We'll see. I watched and I got the impression that Rittenhouse really wanted to testify and tell his side of the story.
I presume his attorneys knew that and subjected him to some harsh questioning to prepare him for the prosecution's likely tactics.
Rittenhouse came through that a lot better than I would have. I would have gotten snarky with the prosecutor very quickly.
It's, I guess for me watching, that I would have thought that I was a lot smarter than the prosecutors and I probably would have tried to prove it.

ANALYSIS: Kyle Rittenhouse Thwarts Prosecutorâs Attempt to Undermine His Self-Defense Privilege Claim
Maybe it's because I am overly confident of my cleverness, but I noticed most of the traps that the prosecutor posed for Rittenhouse that I would have rebelled against and Kyle didn't. I would have been argumentative if not sternly cautioned about that beforehand.
I mean how many times do you have to correct a prosecutor that you "dropped" a fire extinguisher instead of "put it down?" The former implies fear, the latter implies deliberate judgement. It's a micro-second decision.
Same type of this repeated ad nauseam.
Like, "You wanted to kill him." Jeez, if I was asked that as many times as Kyle was I eventually would have said something that would have been construed as depraved indifference.

In honor of my Flemish wife:
In Flanders Fields
John McCrae - 1872-1918
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

The Rittenhouse trial is a microcosm of our sad world, a Petri dish we all can observe until its predicted end.
The logic, if you can be called that, basically boils down to this (via Ace of Spades):
-Rosenbaum only chased you and tried to take your gun.
-The guy who kicked you only stomped you in your face.
-Huber only hit you in the head with a skateboard used as a club.
-And now: Grosskreutz only pointed a handgun at you. You had an AR-15 and should have just absorbed all these attacks because it is the only Real Weapon at the scene.
There are several leading leftist lights who are even going so far as claiming that all Rittenhouse (or anyone) had to do was to obey the commands of the ANTIFA/BLM rioters (who were in the process of burning the downtown of Kenosha down) and just let the beat him to death and he wouldnât have wantonly killed Rosenbaum and Huber.
On Twitter, some rando leftie numbskull proposed this logical and total sand prescription:
âWhat people could do with anger about the Rittenhouse trial is advocate for a law that says that if you bring a weapon to a public place where you know violence is basically guaranteed, you lose any self defense grounds.â
Wow. Th idea that you lose grounds for self-defense if you bring a weapon into a public place where violence is basically guaranteed - like a fiery but mostly peaceful Black Lives Matter protest - is a solution looking for a problem. Thatâs some real next level thinking there, folks.
Joyless Reid, the Race Lady - who for some reason gets paid to call people racists on a low rated show on MSNBC â wants the judge removed because his phone has Lee Greenwoodâs âGod Bless the USAâ as a ringtone.
Thatâs a MAGA thing, you know. Heâs a Trump plant. And a racist Proud Boy.
Letâs review: the left from the leftist thick-browed morons on Twitter and Facebook all the way to President Dementia have claimed a guy who shot three white attackers was a white supremacist. They have said he didnât need a gun to be in an area where ANTIFA/BLM were burning buildings and beating people â and where cops were told to stand down. He is a murderer because he used disproportionate force to stop an attack on is person â he had an AR when the other attackers only had a 9mm pistol, a skateboard and were kicking him in the face.
And it is all on video. All of it. The prosecutor is arguing against reality.
The left believes Rittenhouse is guilty, not because he stopped an attack on his life, it was because he opposed something the left supported â the ârighteousâ rioting and destruction of Kenosha. This is the manifestation of the Rawlings-Blake Doctrine.
Remember the riots in Baltimore after the 2015 death of Freddy Gray in police custody?
Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake said:
âIâve made it very clear that I work with the police, and instructed them to do everything that they could to make sure that the protesters could exercise their right to free speech. Itâs a very delicate balancing act because while we tried to make sure they were protected from the cars and the other things that were going on, we gave those who wished to destroy space to do that, as well. And we worked very hard to keep that balance and to put ourselves in the best position to deescalate. And thatâs what you saw.â
Give âem room to destroy.
Thatâll teach them. They will eventually get tired and need a nap.
The Rittenhouse prosecutor is horrible, but that is to be expected since he never had a case in the first place. This was always a Kafkaesque show trial, a literal Maoist struggle session. The leftist Democrats need Rittenhouse to be guilty, so they are squinting their little beady eyes and wising as hard as they can on the crystal they got from Gwyneth Paltrow.
But the important thing to take in is how the left always, and I mean always, starts first with their desired outcome, and then creates (or bends to the point of breaking) every fact or piece of evidence to fit that outcome â and they use the process as punishment.
Five minutes after the incident in Kenosha, every single Democrat had declared Kyle Rittenhouse guilty, and he was an obvious white supremacist killer who went to Kenosha just to randomly shoot righteous, mostly peaceful black rioters and arsonists.
The only part of that story that was true was that there were rioters and arsonists.
The Democrat left doesnât care about facts, evidence, or truth. They only care about preserving their ideology and eliminating any opposing points of view. This preservation has reached levels of suppression not seen since the days of Josef Stalin.
The Rittenhouse trial shows how dangerous they are. These are people committed to destruction, not just of an individual but the entire American system of justice.

I never commented on the Rittenhouse case until I started watching large chunks of the trial, and all I can say is that anyone who has done the same and denies that there's a huge gap between the media narrative about this and what actually happened is not telling the truth.

With both Rittenhouse and the 1/6 defendants, it's absolutely bizarre (and more than a little grotesque) to watch liberals jettison every criminal justice reform principle they claim to believe because of the ideology of the accused, and suddenly turn into pro-prison fanatics.

What happened to the whole thing about criminal justice reform, prison abolition, the evils of the carceral state, the inherent pro-prosecution bias, rehabilitative justice?
It all instantly disappears based if the accused has the wrong ideology. Then it's: law and order!

We're at the point in the discourse when colleges have created the highly scientific and totally legitimate racial category of "Students of Color, minus Asian"

In the replies to this tweet there is quite a discussion of "white Hispanics" and what is to be done about Nigerian immigrants who score abnormally high on academic tests.

I am trademarking a new phrase "Demsplaining, or Demsplainin'"
It fully encompasses the sheer and utter bullshit, outright lies and fantastically distorted thought processes of liberals.
The is also "Demspreading", when they take an issue and blow it up into a complete distortion of reality.
Examples:
Joe Biden Demsplained the Afghanistan withdrawal as a precision military operation that achieved all of its goals.
Bete Buttigieg demsplained the racist bridges and tunnels in New York.
Kamala Harris demsplained racist trees.
It's an adjective. It's a noun. it's a dangling participle if you choose.
