.Finnish Intelligence Officer Explains the Russian Mindset
[ Jon Gabriel, Ed. in an April 4, 2022, article includes a written translation of COL Martti J. Kari's 2018 lecture. Long, but very interesting.]
"...Background
My background is that I have served in military intelligence for most of my career. I am an officer and an intelligence colonel who retired last fall. I started here in January at the university as a teacher. I teach intelligence. As I have spent most of my career in intelligence, Russia and the Soviet Union have always been my point of interest.
As a young lieutenant, I was sent to what was then Leningrad to study the Russian language. Even then I started to wonder why the Russians were doing things differently than we do? Why do they see the world differently than we see it? Since then, I have worked with the Russians and with the Soviets until my retirement. I’ve been to the Soviet Union and to Russia a lot during my career and have been in a lot of contact with them.

Scientists Have Spotted the Farthest Galaxy Ever – It May Be Home to the Oldest Stars in the Universe
"[T]he galaxy candidate is some 13.5 billion light-years away," and in the odd way that these most ancient galaxies are found we will have to wait 13.5 billion light-years to discover if it actually continues to exist today.
Scientists find fossil of dinosaur ‘killed on day of asteroid strike’
Remains of thescelosaurus in North Dakota believed to date back to extinction of species 66m years ago
"Scientists believe they have been given an extraordinary view of the last day of the dinosaurs after they discovered the fossil of an animal they believe died that day.
The perfectly preserved leg, which even includes remnants of the animal’s skin, can be accurately dated to the time the asteroid that brought about the dinosaurs’ extinction struck Earth 66m years ago, experts say, because of the presence of debris from the impact, which rained down only in its immediate aftermath."
The Green U.S. Supply-Chain Rules Set to Unspool and Rattle the Global Economy
"Making a box of Cocoa Puffs is a complicated global affair. It could start with cocoa farms in Africa, corn fields in the U.S. or sugar plantations in Latin America. Then thousands of processors, transporters, packagers, distributors, office workers and retailers join the supply chain before a kid in Minnesota, where General Mills is based, pours the cereal into a bowl.
Now imagine the challenge that General Mills faces in counting the greenhouse gas emissions from all of these people, machines, vehicles, buildings and other products involved in this Cocoa Puff supply chain – then multiply that by the 100-plus brands belonging to the food giant.
Thousands of public companies may soon have such a daunting task to comply with a new set of climate rules proposed by the Securities and Exchange Commission."
Not to worry. Third party firms will build "computer models" to help these firms estimate the otherwise impossible to measure inputs.
Henry had this pegged correctly a week or more ago.
Calif. Sent Pandemic Food Stamps to Affluent Families
"News of the strange COVID payments started circulating quietly among neighbors and friends last year in several affluent beachside communities of North County San Diego.
Food stamp cards carrying as much as $1,700 were arriving in the mailboxes of all students, even those living in multi-million-dollar homes at two local public high schools serving neighborhoods with some of the highest household incomes in the state. The cards were addressed to the students themselves, and some families with more than one child attending the same school received double the amount or more, at least $3,400 worth of cards.
As more people discovered the government-issued largesse, local community online chatrooms were sprinkled with questions on whether the cards were illegal and should be sent back, along with complaints of teens buying sushi and other expensive fare from Whole Foods and other pricey organic markets or using the unexpected funds to throw cookouts and graduation parties. The debit cards can only be used for groceries at supermarkets or Amazon, not in sit-down restaurants or fast-food chains.
Many parents of students receiving the cards, who requested anonymity to speak to RealClearPolitics, weren’t sure what to make of the checks, mainly because their families had never received food assistance from the state and federal government before. And even if they had, the sudden cash windfalls without any warning spurred a myriad of questions: Were they sent by mistake? Would using them trigger tax implications or put their children in a database designating them as recipients of government assistance? The answers from California’s Department of Social Services, which sent the checks, were “No,” “no,” and “no.”
This is interesting, I don't endorse it if the idea is that the West should lie before the Russians can to win a propaganda war, but it provides a kind of tick-tock in the run-up to what may be the first "info-war."
Ukraine is running a superior operation compared to the Russians in this "info-war."
The US, UK and others jumped in early "declassifying" what may have only been rumors, if not outright falsehoods. They created the battle-space before Russia could.
"Big Tech" applied "climate change and Covid" rules and banned most Russian outlets before Russia caught on and banned "Big Tech" from influencing its own people.
More interesting is that are small groups of people using open source intelligence trying to report reality. Like Oryxz.
There are all these independent still photos and video reports being up-loaded, collated, geo-located and verified (or debunked) by independent (supposedly/hopefully) third parties.
It's a straight-forward war, with rules-based conduct, until something horrible happens, then it reverts to the propaganda war.
And if that doesn't explain it, well it must be the fault of the Azov Regiment, which, apparently, isn't only operating in Mariupol, but everywhere.
And of course that can't be true because we know from other sources that the Chechens and the Wagner Group are killing Azov sympathizers anywhere they can find those damn Neo-Nazis.

Bizarre.

Russia’s Floundering False-Flag Narrative
And I denounce myself before you can :)

Politicians have perfected the art of taking bribes legally and in plain sight:
Book deals
Art sales
Speaking fees
Consultancy fees
Not to mention simply “running” for office. Just how much scrutiny do their “expenditures” get??

The science is not settled
https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-60993523
Scientists just outside Chicago have found that the mass of a sub-atomic particle is not what it should be.
The measurement is the first conclusive experimental result that is at odds with one of the most important and successful theories of modern physics.
The team has found that the particle, known as a W boson, is more massive than the theories predicted.

I'm gonna guess that W boson is on hormones.
Can you imagine the Green Extinction idiots rappelling down Tower Bridge in the middle of rush hour in London. They were complaining yesterday that the refinery workers where they chained themselves to some pipes purposely burnt them.
The UK is experiencing a massive energy crisis and still these crazy bastards continue their shenanigans. Time to send them off to the moors and let them live in mud huts for a few months. They can eat moor grass or mud.
