An awkward moment for the DoJ:
Jury acquits two in Michigan governor kidnap plot; deadlocks on two others
Partial defeat for the Justice Department’s efforts to combat domestic terrorism; defense lawyers said the men were entrapped by the FBI
A federal jury acquitted two men of conspiring to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, and deadlocked on the counts against two others, apparently agreeing to some degree with defense claims that FBI agents entrapped the men in a violent plot shortly before the 2020 election.
The trial in Grand Rapids, Mich., was closely watched as a test of the U.S. government’s ramped-up efforts to combat domestic terrorism, and Friday’s verdict is a partial defeat for the Justice Department. The men’s arrest in October 2020 raised alarms about the possibility of politically motivated violence as the nation was increasingly divided over a bitterly contested presidential race.
Bad legal advice, or stronger evidence? IDK.

Neither. They're the guys who buckled under the pressure of the FBI and DOJ to ruin their lives in perpetuity for a scheme cooked up by the gawdamned FBI and DOJ.
They can't solve the crimes that are actually occurring at least in part because they're creating crimes that wouldn't otherwise occur.

We seem to be slipping perilously close to the idea legitimately elected leaders are just dictators if they aren't our allies or under our thumb.
Yanukovic being another example.
IMO, the world is a safer place for our interests if we protect our vital national interests with imposing power and overwhelming might on those few instances in which it is warranted and stop our incompetent corrupt ruling class trying to micromanage every country around the globe and choose who will run their country for them. Especially since they seem to think part of that bargain is they get to choose who will run this country for us.
Nobody our deep state spooks have attempted to take out or wishes to take out in the future has been one tenth the threat to us our very own deep state spooks are. Since they aren't working for us I have no confidence anything they do overseas is anymore in my or America's interest than the war they waged on Trump or the election they stole for Biden.

this long war we've been in started around 1979, on the sunni side with the invasion of afghanistan, the Russians thought it would be a cakewalk, ten years later they crabwalked out, some 10,000 dead,
the proximate cause was the billion dollars of aid, that the us uk some french channelled through the isi to their preferred bands of mujahadeen, now the front man was ahmad shah mahsood, the lion of the panshjir but he didn't receive the bulk of the aid, the urbane lycee graduate despite having held down the 40th Army in the valley, was not deemed 'street enough' or whatever the pashtun equivalent,

no the bulk when to hekmatyar, whose talent was throwing acid at women, at khalis and haqquani, the spiritual and military bookends of what would be called the taliban, that wayward son of a saudi merchant would apprentice at their side,
the crocodile who lasted some forty years in sanaa, ali saleh, would volunteer his men, to the battle field, along with potentates from smaller states like algeria, alas the war ended and the fighters returned to north africa and the levant with missionary zeal the soviet trained algerians said you misunderstand and attempted to crush them, the French volunteered their services and the first wave of train attacks resulted,

bin ladens talent was to put the band back together, and they went on gigs in the balkans, in the caucasus, and the like, he was based in the sudan, where he was accesible, but he then returned to Afghanistan, with his crew, and well you know the rest of the story, almost a decade, after we realized we were at war, obama's hagiographers leaked the means we were using to manage the conflict specially in the first theatre, which suggested total information dominance, probably engendered an extra dollop of paranoia, not long after that we discovered thanks to chatty snowden, we were under the magnifying glass as well, at least the tools for same were available,

"Russian troops basically ceased all offensive operations in most directions on Saturday, limiting itself to just small scale attacks and shelling of Ukrainian positions and towns."
https://www.understandingwar.org/backgrounder/russian-offensive-campaign-assessment-april-9
"Special Edition: Russian Military Capabilities Assessments
The Russian military is attempting to generate sufficient combat power to seize and hold the portions of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts that it does not currently control after it completes the seizure of Mariupol. There are good reasons to question the Russian armed forces’ ability to do so and their ability to use regenerated combat power effectively despite a reported simplification of the Russian command structure. This update, which we offer on a day without significant military operations on which to report, attempts to explain and unpack some of the complexities involved in making these assessments."

A Cossack Song: https://youtu.be/RKLQiWlXaRo
About the nationality of the Cossacks
"...the Greeks called them the Khazars, and the Romans called them Gazars.. and at first they lived near the Meotian Lake, which is now called the Dead Sea (Azov), into which the Don River flows; these Gozars were from the tribe of Homer, the first son of Japheth, and from Homer they were formerly called Homer.
Scythians, Sarmatians, Alans and Kozars, from which the Cherkasy-Cossacks lead their ancient genus, were not Slavic.
"Of the living people, the closest relatives of the Cossacks are not the Russians (Slavic-Finn) - but rather the Germanic (Goths), Iranians (Persians), the Avarians (Avars), Ossetians (Alans), Georgians (the Gurgani) and Armenians (Hattie), because all of these people together with the Cossacks (Kasarani) are descended from one ancestor, the biblical Togarmah (Tegami or Torgay) son of Homer grandson of Japheth. In other words, the Cossacks know their ancestry up to Noah..."

“I have the most animating confidence that the present noble struggle for liberty will terminate gloriously for America. And let us play the man for our God, and for the cities of our God; while we are using the means in our power, let us humbly commit our righteous cause to the great Lord of the Universe, who loveth righteousness and hateth iniquity. And having secured the approbation of our hearts, by a faithful and unwearied discharge of our duty to our country, let us joyfully leave our concerns in the hands of him who raiseth up and pulleth down the empires and kingdoms of the world as he pleases; and with cheerful submission to his sovereign will, devoutly say: 'Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labor of the olive shall fail, and the field shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls; yet we will rejoice in the Lord, we will joy in the God of our salvation.'” [Habakkuk 3:17-18]—John Hancock, March 1770

On the garden front, I was surprised to see some of my German Chamomile survived a rather cold winter, since it’s supposed to be an annual.
“The word chamomile comes from the Greek χαμαίμηλον (chamaimēlon) meaning "earth-apple", which is derived from χαμαί (chamai) meaning "on the ground" and μήλον (mēlon) meaning "apple". It is so called because of the apple-like scent of the plant.”

I don’t really pair wines well, but I can match back to back posts like no other:
“Nowhere in the Bible does it says that it was an apple [Eaten by Eve].
In fact in old English the word apple (æppel) meant all fruit in general.
"apple (n.)
Old English æppel "apple; any kind of fruit; fruit in general," from Proto-Germanic *ap(a)laz (source also of Old Saxon, Old Frisian, Dutch appel, Old Norse eple, Old High German apful, German Apfel), from PIE *ab(e)l- "apple" (source also of Gaulish avallo "fruit;" Old Irish ubull, Lithuanian obuolys, Old Church Slavonic jabloko "apple"), but the exact relation and original sense of these is uncertain (compare melon).
A roted eppel amang þe holen, makeþ rotie þe yzounde. ["Ayenbite of Inwit," 1340]
In Middle English and as late as 17c., it was a generic term for all fruit other than berries but including nuts (such as Old English fingeræppla "dates," literally "finger-apples;" Middle English appel of paradis "banana," c. 1400). Hence its grafting onto the unnamed "fruit of the forbidden tree" in Genesis. Cucumbers, in one Old English work, are eorþæppla, literally "earth-apples" (compare French pomme de terre "potato," literally "earth-apple;" see also melon). French pomme is from Latin pomum "apple; fruit" (see Pomona)."”

The Affordable Insulin Now Act, just passed by the U.S. House of Representatives, “does not lower the price of insulin by one penny,” said Rep. Lloyd Doggett, D-TX. He's right. It's a cap on the copay only that simply shifts the costs and allows profiteers to keep profiting. Americans, including those most in need, will continue to pay 800% more than they should for insulin.

Why doesn't Zelensky ever appeal to God Almighty in Heaven:
“Our cause is just. Our union is perfect. Our internal resources are great, and, if necessary, foreign assistance is undoubtedly attainable. -- We gratefully acknowledge, as signal instances of the Divine favour towards us, that his Providence would not permit us to be called into this severe controversy, until we were grown up to our present strength, had been previously exercised in warlike operation, and possessed of the means of defending ourselves. With hearts fortified with these animating reflections, we most solemnly, before God and the world, declare, that, exerting the utmost energy of those powers, which our beneficent Creator hath graciously bestowed upon us, the arms we have been compelled by our enemies to assume, we will, in defiance of every hazard, with unabating firmness and perseverance, employ for the preservation of our liberties; being with one mind resolved to die freemen rather than to live slaves.”—The Declaration of the Causes and Necessities of Taking Up Arms, July 6, 1775

1/Surmising a revised Russian OPLAN. Here are my thoughts on what Russia’s revised operational plan may look like. I have constructed this off what I consider the most logical operational approach that can yield positive results.

Mariupol is like myth city. With only little things happening elsewhere at the moment and Mariupol still holding out, with little verifiable information available from there, the spinmeisters are having a field day.
Mitch Rapp is somewhere in the city. He and Scott Coleman and crew have been running supplies to the Ukrainians in Mariupol all this time. That's why the Azov regiment have been able to hold out all this time.
While there they have also been involved in shutting down Hunter Biden's bio-weapons lab located deep underground under the Azozstal Steel Works. Trying to fly French DGSE operatives and highly-placed NATO officials out on helicopters before they're captured by the Chechens. And more.
And things are going so bad for the Russians and their allies that they've been lobbing chemical artillery shells into the city because that's the only way to kill the zombies who've managed to escape from the Hunter Biden bio-lab. Said zombies were reportedly munching on dead civilians until they were drawn to the smell of the Russian crematoria trucks behind Russian lines and began fighting their way through the Russian lines to get to them.
Meanwhile,...

First evidence ‘magic’ mushrooms might be better than antidepressants
"Magic mushrooms have a “liberating effect” on the depressed mind, according to new research published in the journal Nature Medicine Monday, which considers how the psychedelic compound psilocybin improves mood compared to traditional drugs, and why it seems to work so much better."

Why would high ethanol gasoline harm small engines?

Here are just a few of the problems ethanol causes in small engines, MM
It's not great for large engines either, they're just bigger so harder to hurt.

Shanghai [and many other Chinese cities] just prove that viruses gonna virus and also that Tom Friedman and the other starry eyed authoritarians who look dreamily on the CCP's great leap forward expertise are precisely as stupid as they seem.

I think so, Iggy. Have always thought that and the latest figures on the different policies of the different states seem to confirm our thought. Lockdowns are a disaster. The Barrington Crowd was right.
