Joe Biden brings back the Terrorist Fist Jab while in Saudi Arabia greeting MBS, the man believed to be the impetus behind the brutal murder/ dismemberment of Khashoggi. Biden's backers (The Few, The Proud...) say the fist bump was chillier than alternatives, but the Saudi PR team was pushing videos so I'd guess they were happy with the photo op they got.
And in the background, there remains a real mystery as to the Saudi oil production capability.

Bloomberg Law reports a new lawsuit filed in California claims that Skittles contain a dangerous toxin called "titanium dioxide," rendering the candy "unfit for human consumption."
On Thursday, plaintiff Jenile Thames filed a lawsuit in the Northern District of California against Skittles-maker Mars Inc., alleging consumers who "taste the rainbow" of sugar "are at heightened risk of a host of health effects for which they were unaware stemming from genotoxicity – the ability of a chemical substance to change DNA."
"titanium dioxide" is what makes white paint white.

The interstate commerce clause was, and is, to give the Feds the power to prevent states from interfering in commerce between the states.
It was essentially an internal NAFTA. It was to prevent states from imposing internal tariffs on other less favored states and forming trade blocs as they had tended to do under the Articles of Confederation.
It wasn't to allow an EPA, DOE, DOI or DOA to impose regulations from on high regarding pretty much anything, not just light bulbs, showers and toilet tanks and sure as hell not CO2.
In fact I'd be perfectly happy were the entire Federal government DOA except for the DOD and the Treasury, and they're skating on thin ice.

"This is the Central Library of the National Autonomous University of Mexico. It's fairly large, holding almost 1.5 million volumes, along with over 300,000 journal and magazine issues and over half a million theses. Each of the walls of the exterior represents aspects of Mexico's history, from pre-Columbian times to the modern day. In a weird sort of way, the library exterior is itself a book, as anyone who understands the "code" can read the history of Mexico on its walls. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's certainly eye-catching"

Ace's Saturday night joke.
"The Saturday Night Joke
A Greek and a Jew were sitting in a Starbucks one day comparing their two cultures.
Over a double latte, the Greek mentions “We built the Parthenon, you may recall, along with the Temple of Apollo.”
“Well, it was the Jews who discovered the Summer and Winter Solstices.”
“But it was the Greeks who gave birth to advanced mathematics.”
“Granted, but it was the Jews who built the first timepieces.”
Knowing that he’s about to deliver the coup de grace, the son of Athens points out with a note of finality: “Keep in mind that it was the ancient Greeks who invented the notion of sex as a pleasurable activity!”
“True enough, but it was the Jews who got women involved.”

Let's teach Joe Bidon why the Palestinians are not like the Irish. By Mike Konrad.
This is an enlightening article. At the end, the writer includes this statement which is included on an Irish website - https://www.irelandisrael.ie/blog/hamas ... tionalism/
"[A]t no point [during the campaign against English rule in Northern Ireland] was there a desire to wipe out the United Kingdom. Nor was there ever a stated desire to commit genocide against British people. By contrast, Hamas and Fatah regularly try to outdo each in other in calling for Israel to be wiped off the map."

--obama-economic-advisor-says-best-way-to-deal-with-inflation-is-to-raise-taxes--
That's classic MMT. Under MMT they don't hold that it's impossible for the central bank to cause inflation. Nay, nay.
They acknowledge it can and in the most uncannily convenient coincidence ever they have also discovered that raising taxes is the method by which inflation is stanched, because it's caused by too many sawbucks floating around so the gubmint has to raise taxes to soak all those excess sawbucks up.
However, apparently "Modern Monetary Theory" is gaining a bit of unwanted notoriety as a notation for the theory so there are stirrings to rename it the Pea and Thimble Man School.

One of DoT's nephews became a rear admiral a few years ago. When Trump sent a Navy hospital ship to NYC in Spring 2020, he was involved and photographed with it. Of course, idiot Cuomo would rather send the sick to nursing homes to kill others than let Trump get any credit for doing something useful in the Covid panic.

I remember some brawls (the usual sort between those of us with strong opinions) but I can't for the life of me remember what any of them were about. I bet he would have been generally on OL's side, if I am remembering his intellectual profile correctly. Clarice and Jane and Jack and others will know more.

In his review of Duty, Honor, Ambition. REVIEW: ‘Invisible Storm: A Soldier’s Memoir of Politics and PTSD’ by Jason Kander. Edward Luttwak includes the following about his own experiences:
"...Having been in combat myself in more than one war, I am ashamed to say that I never experienced any subsequent stress, though artillery shells landing at random around me (it was no World War I barrage) must have been alarming at the time I suppose, and shooting at enemy infantrymen who were returning the favor must have been pretty exciting, and I do still remember that upon landing after my only lean-out-and-shoot helicopter ride, when I tried to undo the holding belt’s buckle I discovered it undone—I was only alive because the pilot pulled his turns all in the right direction..."

Jimmy Carter tried to show himself to be a COMMON MAN, by wearing a sweater. Even though his fireside chats SPEWED CO2 into the atmosphere.
Jimmy Carter was humble, a U.S.NAVAL ACADEMY SCHOLAR and GRADUATE.
BIDEN lied about being offered a COMMISSION to NAVY, and invoked another lie about his FOOTBALL LACK OF PROWESS by mentioning he didn't want to comptete with ROGER STAUBACH. Biden has tried to pretend to be a common man, by LYING ABOUT DRIVING A BIG RIG. "THIS HERE'S THE PUDDING CUP, and I'm about to put the HAMMER DOWN".. 10-4.
Jimmy Carter told PLAYBOY that he was GUILTY of LUSTING in his HEART. Biden was BANGING TEACHER JILL, AND DENTED BILL STEVENSONS CORVETTE.

Biden's a bum — always has been. And a creep.
This generation of young journalists gave him a pass when pros in years past nailed his lying ass for plagiarism and endless fabrications to pad his self-importance. Perpetually incompetent and the consummate senatorial "windbag" - as Brit Hume called him to his face- the bum has been a creepy swamp creature from a small, inconsequential state for half a century, swam with other swamp creatures for decades– has an unelected wife who makes excuses for his swamp creature incompetence and a creepy, corrupt, swamp creatured, drug and sex-addicted kid who reflects how poorly he was raised by his politician parent. He’s a total POS. And meow: any Top Cat would bury him in the litter box.
