Something that's driving me crazy is that many conservative twitter feeds and blogs I read are asserting as a fact that it was a magistrate named Bruce Reinhardt who signed the warrant; however, the only evidence I've seen is a record of a sealed warrant application. Unless that was the only sealed warrant application signed in Florida in the last several days (which seems unlikely and which no one has claimed, as far as I've seen), I don't see how that proves the case. I'd appreciate any further information.

What I find rather stunning about McCarthy's analysis is that he says the reason for the warrant was pretextual, yet he doesn't seem to have much of a problem with it. Just a little unconstitutional search and seizure, no big deal. A general warrant might, but I do believe they're illegal.
